  1. Well, at least Schaub didn't ruin the #TankforTeddyBridgewater He looked partway competent for a while there. Then he did what he always does. Throw a terrible pick, take a terrible sack. I want Matt Schaub gone. I want Gary Kubiak gone. I want Wade Phillips gone. I want GM Rick Smith gone. Clean house. I'm guessing all of this will come true, then we'll rehire Dom Capers and draft Derek Carr.
  2. After watching this, are we even sure we ever saw this Mistico in the WWE? This guy has confidence, physical charisma, and a real and fluid snap to all of his moves. None of those words describe Sin Cara. Maybe he got replaced a long, long time ago.
  3. If Daniel Bryan turns heel and joins the Wyatts, the Wyatts and Bryan will be turned face by the crowd.
  4. 10 in a row! I'm blaming this one on the refs. Ridiculous roughing the passer call on Brooks Reed because JJ Watt tossed Brady into him and he couldn't get out of the way. THEN! on the second to last drive, DeAndre Hopkins gets held and interfered with on a play and no call. In fact, no penalties all game on the Patriots. I'm blaming the refs this time. I'll give Kubiak's piss poor coaching, Wade Phillips idiotically showing blitz and then actually blitzing over and over again so that Brady can burn us with those little underneath routes right where the blitzer was, and the Rick Smith-assembled shambles of a non-NFL caliber roster surrounding Andre Johnson and JJ Watt a pass today. /Tanking for Teddy Bridgewater //or Clowney
  5. How about the Rockets with their signature win over the Spurs in San Antonio. Incredible win! The team's coming together! I say never trade Asik!
  6. Frances Ha. Saw it on Sight and Sound's top ten and watched it on Netflix. So bland. It's more or less a snapshot of a NYC no talent hipster's pathetic life. There's absolutely nothing there. Then I read the reviews (93% on rotten tomatoes!) Where this movie defines a generation and I'm mystified. And then I read that Noah Baumbach's parents were a film professor and a film critic, and that Greta Gerwig (the star) is his girlfriend, and it all makes sense.
  7. Our last baby was a home birth. It was awesome. It's so much better than the hospital. As long as you got a midwife you trust, it'll go great.Besides, all you got to do is be there to reassure her. She's the one doing the heavy lifting. Oh don't sell the husband's job short. We have to watch the whole thing. She gets to close her eyes when it all starts flying out of her body. Dude, I was there.

  9. Rockets win 3 in a row without Harden. Lin goes out in the first quarter tonight and the Rockets still win. Ewing Theory?
  10. So I'm going to TLC next month, first live event I'll be going to in years, and my main event is going to be Orton v. Cena? Jesus.
  11. Can we fire Kubiak now and get on with it?
  12. Doug Marshall is such an awesome heel. He is what the Real Americans aspire to.
  13. If people hate Only God Forgives, what's the consensus on Valhalla Rising?
  14. I actually didn't see this until a year or two ago but I absolutely LOVED it. I thought everyone was really good (FTR, the son would've been about 22 at the time of filming, so I'd say that's perfectly acceptable). I can see where you're coming from in terms of complaints, even though I mostly disagree and am willing to suspend disbelief, but I think you completely underrated the awesome performance Dakota Fanning puts in. She looks absolutely terrified throughout and I was just genuinely blown away by how good she was. BTW, I had to google your sig and that is AMAZING. Why did I never hear about that?! Oh, you're right, Fanning is excellent in this. But it doesn't redeem the movie. And, yes, Terrence Howard is the gift that keeps on giving. The quote fits the Prince of Darkness image well, I think.
  15. War of the Worlds, the Tom Cruise one. I remember liking this when it came out, and I loved to death the original movie with the spark-shooting alien ships and stuff. This I don't like much at all. Cruise's zany off camera life is too ingrained in my head to take him seriously. The shitty boyfriend dude from Shameless is his son? How old is his son? 27? The Tripods shoot rays that make people go poof, so naturally, there's a ton of bodies in the river. Tim Robbins character is such a doof. There's all sorts of inconsistencies as to when electricity works and doesn't work. The insistence of using 9/11 iconographic allusions. I could go on. I accepted the ending in the original. It doesn't work for whatever reason in the new one. /hated it
  16. Just watched Cloverfield for the first time in many moons. It's really well done. The brief glimpses of the giant creature are exhilarating, and so are some of the longer shots of the thing. I'm not annoyed by the "found footage" aspect or the shaky cam. It was a fun romp, with interesting mythology. I think I'm in the camp that believes that the creature that kills Hud is a baby version; it seems considerably smaller than the main creature, which is building sized. But it doesn't matter. It's scary when it needs to be, exciting when it needs to be, and there's a good amount of WTF and confusion going on that makes it seem more real.
  17. I'm pretty sure Gary Kubiak is trying to take years off my life. Putting Schaub back in? For shame, Gary Kubiak. For shame.
  18. Uh, who? I'm guessing he looks like Tom Brady and shreds the Texans secondary like a light saber through butter. What with no Ed Reed's corpse manning the deep middle anymore.

    HOMELAND

Saul's the man. This show is so much better when it's about Saul's schemes than when it's about Carrie and Brody have like, the greatest romance ever. Or about Dana.
  20. Ed Reed released by the Texans today. Can't say that I was surprised considering he was talking trash about the coaching staff and the fact that he apparently died at some point over the summer. Of course, the Texans were 2-0 with Ed Reed not in the lineup, and 0-7 with him in. In other words, with this move, the Texans will commence a 7-0 run, snag a wild card and then win the Superbowl. That's the ticket.
