  1. That Gulak match from the other day was all I needed to see from Fox to know that I hate that guy.
  2. An alleged leak at IGN ahead of tomorrow's scheduled big announcement has revealed that MGS5 will be released on September 1st. BOSS.
  3. I need a reasonable Nightfall strike to pop up so I can finish off the Pocket Infinity bounty. Ever since I got to that step, the Nightfalls have been Omnigul and Ta'arus, without any burns, too. Those were pretty rough, and I haven't been able to make much progress on the 200 fusion rifle kills at all.
  4. Thanks, man. I managed to make it through all 3 difficulties of the Weekly Strike without running into any idiots, so that was awesome. I've gotten awesome rolls of Xur's exotic engram the last two weeks. First, I got Starfire Protocol, then I got Obsidian Mind, both things Xur has sold in recent weeks that I either passed on or didn't have the coin for at the time. Ironically, I was actually hoping for gear for a different character class that I could shred for the shard. But I'll take it.
  5. Saw KINGSMAN yesterday. Matthew Vaughn has a superpower for turning Mark Millar's shitty comics into tremendously entertaining movies. Their working relationship fascinates me. Millar is, like, the first author in history to seemingly be thrilled when a director junks 75% of their story and basically makes the movie something completely different with the same title/general premise.
  6. Like anyone gives a shit. If it was Zoe rising from the grave, that would be something worth spoiler tagging. As is, it's just a character nobody cared about who we thought died has returned so we can continue not caring some more.
  7. Sorry, I jumped the gun. It was more like 20 minutes.
  8. Okay, I decided to watch one episode. And that episode began with TEN MINUTES on fucking Stamper's recovery. Fucking STAMPER. Who gives a ten-minute shit about that guy? I sure hope they find that hooker they should've killed ages ago!
  9. I just...I don't think I can do this again.
  10. If this causes the superhero TV implosion, I still can't complain because THE FLASH has been so much fun. I feel like the CW shows are bulletproof so long as the quality stays at a certain level. They're targeted at the wavelength a very specific niche fanbase that is clearly hungry for this sort of thing, without any regard for dumbing it down for casual viewers. And they can afford to do that because CW's ratings threshold is preposterously low. I think they could easily support one of these shows each night of their broadcast week, or at least a couple of AGENT CARTER-style stop-gap shows to keep the Tuesday-Wednesday superhero double shot going all year.
  11. I had a death in the family, so I haven't had a chance to play since they added the matchmaking. I'm kinda leery after hearing some of the horror stories, but you know, I've very rarely had terrible experiences in either the strike playlists or PvP. This past Iron Banner was the first time I've ever really noticed a lot of bad eggs. Hopefully, my run of luck in getting paired with decent dudes will continue.
  12. Back to the also-"funny" Bunkhouse Buck fantasy booking with you. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who doesn't get the appeal of that particular routine.
  13. How much ammo did they take away from shotguns to start PvP? I haven't seen a number and I haven't logged in since the update.
  14. That's John Noble as the new, significantly different voice of Scarecrow.
  15. Oh, and when it cut to Jean-Ralphio's gravestone. You can't tell me there isn't money in a Jean-Ralphio spin-off.
  16. EVA

    Justified

RIP Choo Choo. He burned brightly, if only for a short while. "Wonderful things happen when you sow seeds of mistrust in a garden of assholes."
  17. It was a phenomenal final season, and the finale was good, but probably the least of the series finales that they did over the course of the show. I expected them to aim more for sentimentality than laughs, and that's what I got, so no complaints. The only time I really laughed hard was when April was in labor and the camera whipped around to show her in the Halloween makeup.
  18. I think this thread just became their Vietnam. Damn.
  19. I think someone asked Sepinwall about that on Twitter, and his response was a curt "Don't count on it." And he's tight with Mike Schur, so I think he would know if Paul Schneider wasn't welcome back, for whatever reason.
  20. Well that sounds like a fucking terrible match.
  21. My guess is they're worried that would've made Orton yet another guy more over than Reigns.
  22. I don't think there's any question that's what happened. Over the summer, Fox sacked Kevin Reilly, who was a big risk taker who greenlighted a lot of weird stuff like this show and the upcoming THE LAST MAN ON EARTH (don't get too attached to that one!) and some other stuff, and replaced him with a couple of studio bean counters. Their comments about SH happened at press tour, which was after the midseason finale. At the time, I was willing to buy into the producers saying that it was always their plan to do away with Moloch early, but after hearing the new execs say that and seeing how the remainder of the season served to clumsily tie up most of the mythological loose ends, it seems obvious what was going on with this show. But without the insane mythology, I don't see how this show is any different than countless other procedurals where an eccentric male solves crime with the help of his straigh-laced female assistant/partner/whatever.
  23. I was literally just coming in here to talk about SLEEPY HOLLOW. My feelings are pretty much the same. Back half of the season was an absolute trainwreck. Killing off Katrina seemed like an attempt to course correct, but her heel turn was too abrupt, and ultimately it was all too little, too late to save the season. And I don't think I've ever seen a show that appeared more disinterested in whether it continued or not than this. Abbie at the end was just like, "Yeah, we won, but, um, I think I heard something about another, like, super bad thing that's coming, so, um, we should probably be ready for that, I guess." Like, the writers were too busy updating their resumes to bother actually coming up with a hook for the 3rd season. I feel like if the show comes back, we'll get more of the back half of this season than a return to the gonzo 1st season. The Fox execs at press tour said they wanted to make the show more procedural than serialized if it came back. I'm not sure I need to see that show. As good as Mison and Beharie are together, the bizarre specificty of the show's mythology is what it made it fun to watch. I want bugnuts stuff like Hologram Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin's Franklinstein monster (and Ben Franklin getting beheaded!), not more generic supernatural plots about murderous ghosts in paintings.
  24. So here's this ultra-violent, dark-n-gritty, completely insane Power Rangers short film directed by Joseph Khan, starring Katee Sackhoff and James Van Der Beek: https://vimeo.com/120401488 Very NSFW
  25. Let me get this straight: You're suggesting that a guy can be both very popular AND clearly a raw talent being protected by the booking, like, simultaneously and stuff?Nope. Unheard of in pro wrestling.
