  1. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Leia the last human from the original trilogy that they haven't killed off? The droids and Chewbacca are portrayed by people in suits, so there's no need to replace them. With Leia's death they can finally rid themselves of any physical link to the old characters.
  2. Well, at least I can make a Big Van Vader.
  3. I was 9 when the original Phantasm was released, so there was no way I would have been allowed to see it in a theater. Though I do have vivid memories of tuning in an old black and white television to a UHF station to see it a few years later. (If you've never seen classic genre films on a static-y UHF station, you're really missing out.) It was, however, probably the first film I can remember that was a mindbender. The concept of non-linearism, multiple timelines, timespace, etc... storylines didn't click with me until the mid-80s. (Even though I had been a Doctor Who fan since the mid-70s!) The combination of the chemistry of the main cast, the Tall Man, the 'Cuda, and the overall fantastic tone of the film hooked me hard. It's a film I love to revisit often and am really looking forward to WellGo USA's new box set with the remastered Phantasm II.
  4. Anybody playing Asphalt Legends on the Switch? It's a fun time-waster in the Burnout sense. Looking to join a club in the game.
  5. I've been checking daily to see if there's any pre-order info, because I need that sphere in my life.
  6. Does the Brown situation affect the trade with the Steelers in regard to the 2 draft picks?
  7. So looking forward to this one. Would love to get a physical copy, but will have to make do.
  8. I still have a soft spot in my cold and dying heart for Glenn Danzig. He was responsible, or at least MOSTLY responsible, for much of the soundtrack of my younger days. There was a time in the 80s that my family was vacationing in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, (that in itself is not a feat, as many Tennesseeans visit the Great Smoky Mountains) and while in one of the stores I found a cassette tape bin, and by bin I mean a peach basket with cassettes inside, and found a sealed copy of Samhain November Coming Fire. At another store that sold airbrushed t-shirts of all varieties I happened upon a real Evilive t-shirt. Not exactly the sort of thing you'd be expecting to find in little country shops in the Smoky Mountains. Up until a few years ago I had a Misfits Walk Among Us poster (original) hanging in my office. The last time I saw Danzig was probably his appearance on Portlandia, even that did not diminish him in my eyes. TL;DR There's little that Danzig could do with Verotika that would dissuade me from viewing.
  9. Time Machine RIP Balin died late last year. Still sucks, though.
  10. As much as I want to get the Dungeons & Dragons titles that are coming out later in the year from Skybound, I can't justify the $50 price tags. A $59.99 collection with them all would have been more palatable. And for those not in the know the titles are Baldur's Gate I & II, Planescape Torment & Icewind Dale, and Neverwinter Nights. All are enhanced editions.
  11. I feel the same way about Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986) and Dancer in the Dark (2000). Once was (more than) enough.
  12. I caught a few episodes despite owning the series on DVD. The show still stands up for me. It's tough to watch it compressed, though. Amazon must have the remastered prints the Blu-Ray was made from because they look great.
  13. Ministry started as a Joy Division-esque duo and morphed into whatever the hell Al morphed into.
  14. Horrible news. Buckner was a great player.
  15. The Great Escape occasionally gets stuff, but you pretty much have to be a regular because of numbers. They opened a Murfreesboro location a while back. (Haven't visited there, yet.)
  16. If only Knights in White Satin were playing it could have been a nod to Split Second.
  17. I was torn on whether to post this in the BluRay/physical media thread or here. I chose here. Finally cracked open my copy of Arrow's Horror Express and it was great. The best this film will likely ever look. The disc is packed with interviews that move along pretty quick. I'm honestly not sure when I became a fan of this film. My faulty memory wants me to believe I saw this on an old b/w tv in the late 70s, but it was more likely seeing it hosted by Elivra in the early 80s. This film is also one that I have owned numerous versions of over the years.
  18. Count in as a fan of The Cool Kids. Now Bob's Burgers is the only reason I have to fire up the Fox app.
  19. Detective Pikachu was a very popular title and I think they are using it to test the waters for a future live action main-RPG movie. My wife and I went to see it last night and it's now my pick for best video game adaption to film.
  20. Phil McCormack of Molly Hatchet dead at 58. https://ultimateclassicrock.com/molly-hatchet-phil-mccormack-dead/
  21. Not sure which video you're referring to, but the one from the South of Heaven video looks like a BC Rich Wave.
  22. Eventually it looks like battered spouse syndrome.
