  1. I completely agree with you, and if anything I'm fine with it being the forgotten Tarantino film. Pulp Fiction was just such a monster, I think about anything he did as a follow-up was going to be compared to it and looked at as disappointing. But I think it's his most relatable movie. I'll defend Vanilla Sky to the death. I know Open Your Eyes is the better movie. I just saw it at a time in my life where it absolutely spoke to me, and I could go for hours on why I love it as much as I do. But I know most people just hated it.
  2. Wow, that looks more like a Global Wrestling Federation tribute to the Freebirds featuring Cactus Jack, Rip Rogers, and John Hawk.
  3. The problem too was WWE pushing him up as a badass leading up to WM, and if there's one guy on the roster who doesn't scream badass, it's Miz. I just remember these long beatdowns of John Cena where he was trying to be this worldbeater that just got zero reaction because I don't think anyone was buying it.
  4. Who is driving? Tiger is driving! How can that be?!?!?
  5. Every company has its own fancy name for it (on my LG it is called TruMotion) It's usually got a "motion" or "clear" name. It's in your TV settings, you can easily turn it on and off. 120 definitely can be a positive, but just be aware of its annoyances too.
  6. The problem with 120hz though is that it makes some TV shows that weren't shot that way look like stuff that was shot on a digital camcorder (otherwise known as the "soap opera effect.") Some people never notice it, and others are annoyed as fuck by it (myself being one of them.) But regardless, you can always turn it off.
  7. Yeah, it's actually pretty amazing we got almost the entire Crockett Techwood Drive run from 1985-1989. It just kinda sucks we won't get to the Midnights/Cornette beatdown, the Dusty Rhodes spike incident, or the Steamboat comeback. But we should at least get the Jimmy Garvin cinderblock incident where Garvin sells it too late.

    HOMELAND

Carrie getting shot has made a lot of this season worth it. And made Quinn my new favorite character.
  9. "And I look forward to taking on all challengers who want a shot at this Championsh....Gordon? Gordon, you with us? Gordon?"
  10. I loved Big E getting the I-C belt, and I loved the fans were into it as well. And the main event was so much fun. Though there was something a little jarring seeing Punk and Cody Rhodes all BIG SMILES when Rey came out considering the last two major feuds Rey had were with Punk and Rhodes.
  11. According to Meltzer, WWE is telling cable companies they are suspending Classics as of February 2014.
  12. The In Your House's were $15-$20 for a 2 hour show, and to this day, some of those shows are still among the lowest buyrates the company ever had. Just because you're charging $20 for a $50 show, doesn't guarantee that 2 and a half times the people are going to now suddenly buy it. If anything, you're risking people not even buying those shows because they know the important stuff will be saved for the more expensive shows. As long as WWE PPVs remain profitable, they'll keep charging $50-$60 a pop.
  13. Here's the thing I'm not quite understanding - the video was made in 1992, and there is a disclaimer at the end that states neither the WWF nor Titan Sports endorse the game even though some of their wrestlers appear in the advertisment, but there's no mention of WCW. In '92 Hogan and Koko were still in the WWF, but was Honky? I know Orndorff surely couldn't have been. Koko wasn't in the WWF at this time either. He left in Sept 91 and was rehired to replace Jim Neidhart in the Owen team in early 92. I would guess this was shot in the fall of 91 when Hogan took a two month break after SummerSlam. And Jesus, $150 for 30 shitty games? In 1992 dollars, you could flat out buy a PS3 and a couple PSN games.
  14. I thought he was using the piledriver as a finisher in his first singles run? I remember he killed Danny Davis with it in one of his first MSG face matches in 88. And he used it more than once during his "F off Jimmy Hart" squash match phase. His singles run in 88 was so brief, he just never got to use that much.
  15. Yeah, the last twenty seconds was fucking nuts. That clip doesn't do it justice since Westbrook had just jacked up a 3 from way beyond the arc on the previous possession to take the lead. Warriors looked dead and buried after playing like shit the final 4-5 minutes.
  16. Al Isaacs on Scoopswrestling probably predicted it.
  17. Wow. So Cornette's idea was for the mystery man to be the return of Kwang?
  18. Well, Thunder are 2 for 2 in on-court shovefests this week so I'm curious who starts shit with Golden State tomorrow. The Ibaka-Barnes non-brawl proved costly for OKC since Ibaka was a perfect 6-6 while Barnes apparently thought he was back on the Lakers and his ejection probably was a bonus for the Clippers.

    HOMELAND

I liked the episode way more than others, but yeah, I do not give even the slightest shit about Brody being cleared. The guy still tried to blow up a number of people (with video evidence admitting it), and did still kill the VP. In Homeland's world, apparently the shoe bomber would get a pass since he didn't actually kill anybody. And I know I'm in the minority, but the Senator is far and away my favorite character. He's the guy just calling out the absurdity and bullshit of every plot twist on this show. Guaranteed he's killed before he ever gets confirmed.
  20. I hang my head in shame. I forgot which year the Lakers actually had a draft pick. But I think we both know LA either ends up barely making the playoffs or getting the least number of ping pong balls. Unless Kobe sits out completely. And GD, that dunk makes me wish Shannon Brown had hit his oh so many seasons ago...
  21. Why? Was he telling us how much the teams "Were GRRRRRREEEEEAAAATTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!?"
  22. Am only following the game via score updates, but I'm loving Jordan Hill's numbers. He kinda got lost in the shuffle with his injury last season, but he's a guy who could be a bright spot. He's one of those guys who sucked elsewhere, shines as a Laker, gets his money contract, then sucks elsewhere. And why are you so hung up on the draft? Haven't the Lakers traded away every draft pick until about 2019? And even so, the last megastar the Lakers outright drafted was James Worthy. Lakers build their team the American way: they buy them from teams that can't afford them.
  23. Worst Survivor Series teams ever. Any team captained by Doink still wins.
  24. I just love that Dwight lost the game for Houston for so many reasons: blowing his free throws, calling for the out of bounds pass and then GETTING it only to get hacked immediately, and then realizing who the open man was too late when Blake sank the game winner. SO glad the camera went to Howard complaining to Lin as they exited the court. I know this season is a lost cause, but shit, just as long as they beat the teams that matter, that'll help. Hell, the ragtag Lakers have the same record as the "contending" Clippers now.
  25. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCK YOU HOWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I might need a cigarette after that, and I don't even smoke.
