Great Bash Heel (Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma) IWGP Heavyweight Title Match: Tetsuya Naito (New Japan Cup Winner) d. "Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada Didn't think they'd pull the trigger on Naito but there ya go. And now we know where Seiya Sanada is going to be for a bit. Only saw the last three matches. Nagata will be the next challenger to Shibata (shades of Shingo Takagi beating the different Dragon Gate generations there). Might be Ishii taking on Naito first. Crowd was behind Naito for the most part. Also, people on twitter will never tire of pointing out the fact that female fans are very loud when no one else is cheering/making noise.

International audiences got Vitale. I didn't realize the stream I was watching was the Nova one until the Nova only One Shining Moment started playing.

"There’s a scene from the graphic novel where he busts through a wall, takes the guy’s machine gun… I took that little vignette from a scene in The Dark Knight Returns, and at the end of that, he shoots the guy right between the eyes with the machine gun. One shot." Here is the part that Snyder is referring to. That doesn't look like between the eyes to me. Anyway, like Jingus said, Batman never outright kills anyone, even in the Dark Knight Returns. He is more brutal. He uses guns. He is more "extreme" but he never steps into the realm of murder (depending on how you think about the Joker scene, I guess).

I used to watch my copy of this all the time:

Just got back from seeing it. It was OK. Not great. Not good. Confusing at times. Funny when it shouldn't be - I had a nice laugh when young Bruce was lifted by the bats until they revealed it was dream and Superman's look of "sadness" when he goes off to fight Batman. The chances that Batman didn't kill anyone at the harbor are very low. Everything was so dark. Wonder Woman was a highlight. I think it was nice of Lex to give WW, Cyborg, Flash and Aquaman those useful logos. I liked Eisenberg's Luthor but wished he had more physical heft to him. Luthor isn't a fighter but he shouldn't be that unimposing. Was his assistant supposed to be someone? Initially wondered why Frank Miller and Dan Jurgens had a space between their names and the other creators (Byrne, Wolfman et al) but then remembered that Jurgens did Death of Superman. I got these clear files though so that was nice. It's the same file but my friend gave me hers so I'm just showing the back and front in one photo. Oh, I've never seen Man of Steel - does Superman refer to the Kents by their first names or Mom and Dad or what? Because that makes the whole Martha thing way more contrived if they are Mom and Dad. Finally, someone was straight up snoring before and through the final fight.

Cal was down two starters and had an assistant coach kicked off the team earlier in the week, the game was a foul fest and had they played halfway decent offense it should have been a blowout but I don't care. Hawaii gets its first ever NCAA tournament win. I'm holding out for a South Dakota State win for the 12-13 match-up (edited out something really dumb) but it doesn't look likely.

Thunder Rock are going to have to survive Hojo/Satomura on 3/21 first though.

Definitely. And even the smallest idol groups have devoted fans who are spending money on them that might otherwise go towards something like joshi And at this point, the only thing that outnumbers the number of idol groups (almost every prefecture has one) is the number of mascot characters.

Who do they have? Is that the follow-up promotion to Okinawa Pro? While looking through their cards, I saw Billy Ken Kid on some of them. I love Billy Ken Kid. I'm surprised to see Dragon Gate in there. I know they also took part in previous versions of the Super J Cup, but they are usually so secluded I'm always surprised to see any of their wrestlers outside of Dragon Gate. I'm also surprised DDT is not on the list. Billy Ken Kid is everywhere. Cagematch says he's worked for Ryukyu, AJPW, BJW, KAGEKI, Dotonbori and Kyushu Pro just this year alone. Ryukyu is a follow-up to Okinawa Pro led by Gurukun Mask (formerly Gurukun Diver).

What is the difference between the Youtube channel and the Niconico one?

He fractured his forearm sometime in February. He had surgery last week but no time table as to his return.

Get it while it's hot. Here's the Stardom Blossom program. (About) 10 women's promotions in Japan. (Roughly) 100 female wrestlers. 0 (broadcast) TV programs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qo8_AJ9ahR8

Oh hey. That's the show I went to. Io vs. Santana was disappointing. The way the match ended was anti-climatic and seemed sort of abrupt.
-
This also happened today.

Fuji TV listing on the Blossom thing. As was said before, it's a documentary and it will be focused on Shirai, Hojo and Iwatani (they are the つぼみ - tsubomi - or blossoms in question). Not a straight wrestling show - it looks like it will mix in training and down time stuff along with the taped matches. Not a regular program either, I think. It's going to be at 2 AM on a Sunday (Monday morning) which is where Fuji throws a bunch of different sports programming. Last week was speed skating world championships. Also, only it will only be broadcast in the Tokyo area.

It seems like UNION's closure had something to do with Naomi Susan retiring.

Oh well. I'll keep googling around. If you have anymore details, please let us know. Color? Who was on the cover? -

Was it something like this? There are a few shots of the opposite page but they have a lot of text with action shots. -
People who only listen to the English commentary miss out on over-enthusiastic Liger (people on Japanese twitter were telling him to be quiet). I think it's conditioning but the first ten minutes of Okada/Tanahashi was when I started doing things on my phone. You know nothing majorly exciting is going to happen during that time. Oh and apparently Rocky Romero signed a two year contract with NJPW.

The EVERYONE IS LEAVING NEW JAPAN!!! Thread

Fale in the WWE would be fine as long as he's limited to what he does best: being the guy that Balor rides to the ring on. This is from 2013 but this is a bit with Shinsuke speaking some English at the beginning: Oh, and for lovers of multi-man junior tags, Rocky Romero has apparently signed a two year contract with NJPW. -
Just a quick update about the network launching in Japan: They didn't do any localization. It's just that the app is now available for people in Japan. They did put out a pdf on how to subscribe, which is more than what NJPW World did initially, but other than that it's all the same which is irritating because they haven't changed the payment options. I pay for NJPW World via my mobile provider here and I don't have a credit card so unless there is a way around that, the network will have to wait. It probably means that they didn't even try to do business with the mobile carriers here like the way Netflix teamed up with Softbank on their initial launch - not that that was a very successful idea but at least they were trying to understand the market.

The news hasn't really hit the Japanese side of the internet yet (aside from sites reporting about what the Observer et al are saying). So the main result when you google 新日本プロレス under news is about the Doraemon thing with Yoshio Kojima.

From July of 2015 with Pro Wrestling Wave. I don't think she is full-time though.

AJ already had the IWGP title and has lost to the big three. There wasn't much else for him to do. Isn't Anderson one of the last notable wrestlers of the past ten years or so who hasn't wrestled for TNA or the WWE? At the very least, this should spell the end of the Bullet Club. There's no one at AJ's level who is available now, right? With Yano teaming with the Briscoes and Nakamura going, isn't time to get rid of the CHAOS label too? I guess if you like Los Ingobernables, Shibata, Ishii and Goto, 2016 will be as good a chance as they'll get.

At least now it makes sense that Io dropped the Wonder of Stardom title to Santana Garrett last month.
