  1. Am I missing something? Yujiro Kushida is KUSHIDA.
  2. Elgin is facing Okada in NYC. When I got my ticket I was really hoping it wouldn't be Elgin challenging for the IWGP belt. Oh well. I like Elgin in small doses but don't understand all of the hype. Still though, I hope it's a good match. Not even a big fan of AJ but I was hoping it would have been Okada vs Styles instead as that's the biggest match ROH could possibly book. But I'm glad that'll be a NJPW main event instead. I'd like to see Nakamura/Hero but I don't know if they still plan on using him. Come to think of it, I guess Elgin/Nak is highly possible in Canada. Supercard was an alright show. But it didn't feel like a "super card" in the slightest.
  3. I forced myself to watch it but I'm not sure I'll catch the whole season. It just wasn't interesting. Very easy to see why it wasn't picked up by any network. Pat Patterson being a bit of a pervert with a butcher was kinda funny though.
  4. I don't think people were seriously considering this to be some type of work. Trying to launch a new company while being accused of assaulting a minor doesn't really seem like an angle.
  5. Both of those were awesome. Nakamura vs Tanahashi from this week was the best of their recent matches. I thought the other Nak/Tan matches from 2014 were kinda sloppy and overrated - especially the New Beginning match. Naito/Ishii from this week might have been their best one from this year. Although I haven't seen their recent New Japan Cup match. Either way, it's worth a watch.
  6. I was there and from my vantage point, I'm pretty sure he wears some kind of prosthetic under his gear.
  7. It's not overlooked so much as Harper came out of the match looking leaps and bounds better than Hero so people are giving credit for it to Harper. I disagree. It was a showcase for both guys to me. I don't remember that much praise for Harper after this match, even if it was deserved. And even in losing, I thought Hero looked strong.
  8. Hero's been putting on a lot of really good matches lately, so just comparing his NXT stuff isn't quite fair. Understandably though, it's not easy to keep track of all of his PWG/DGUSA/ROH/etc stuff. Not saying he's having a better year than Bryan, but he's still really good. Going back to NXT though, I feel his last match with Luke Harper is so overlooked. They were throwing bombs at each other. Great stuff. Cabana's been going through the motions lately. Although he occasionally gives a good effort.
  9. Haha spot on. I was shocked by her energy/enthusiasm in that segment.
  10. When they say these things about guys like Zayn, Neville, and Cesaro - they really have been all over the world though, and consistently. Particularly Pac and Generico, they made a career for themselves outside of ROH for the most part.
  11. I can watch the live stream on my mac, but there is no load bar/progress bar so I can't click ahead or back or full screen it. Anyone else have this problem? It was fine yesterday. It's so frustrating.
  12. I got first row lower balcony for the Hammerstein show. From my experience going to Hammerstein for concerts and wrestling, the balcony is pretty good unless you're sitting behind people who never sit down. Even the higher up GA balcony isn't too bad for the price. I don't like the floor unless it's 1st or 2nd row. This will be the first time I go to an ROH show since Final Battle 2011. What's still available? The side balconies are pretty good too as it's only 2 or 3 rows if I remember correctly.
  13. I like Quack as a performer and I dig Chikara a lot, but he didn't really explain much. Unless I missed something, but I listened to it twice. He never gave a clear cut answer as to why it was shut down for so long. And yeah, he was very vague when addressing his wife. Still an interesting interview.
  14. I think those guys were "Wrestling Is" guys who started as an offshoot of the Chikara project if I remember correctly. Edit - El Dragon beat me to it I think Archibald Peck is the Oak character. And Chuck Taylor is the Green guy with the white mustache. Not sure who the other guys are.
  15. Also, if you liked Naito/Okada from last weekend, you should check out the match they had in 2012, also for the IWGP Heavyweight championship. In my opinion, one of the best matches of all time for any company.
  16. It looked more like Roderick Strong just got confused and didn't tilt his head forward.
  17. He still does a couple of cravates. I'd say the 2 cravate per match policy is pretty accurate.
  18. Can't think of anyone I went from liking a lot to not caring about in so little time than Naito. I really thought his match with Okada for the Heavyweight championship from 2 years ago was the greatest thing ever. His return from injury has been really underwhelming. Shibata should have taken G1. Tanahashi vs Ishii was motn for sure. I liked Okada vs Anderson too but I was kinda sleepy by the time it was on. I also don't like the Bullet Club hijinx that usually plagues all of Devitt's matches. Big fan of Anderson and Devitt but this stable doesn't do it for me.
  19. The Rainmaker will be DLC this year (I think). One of the moves listed for the movepack DLC is something called "Wrist Lock Lariat". I used the short arm clothesline for his finisher in WWE13. The closest thing, really.
  20. I meant to sign up last week just to say thanks for posting this. I loved this match. Super old school WWC vibe right here. I lived in Puerto Rico for about a year and never got around to going to any WWC or IWA shows. My former San Juan roommate is now neighbors with Eric Escobar. I'd like to think we'd be buddies if I was still living there. I look forward to watching KENTA vs Yone as well. I used to love Yone's matches but haven't kept up too much with NOAH in recent years.
  21. I agree that the Faction angle wasn't that good, and there were other stupid things that went on, but 2007 was a good year for ROH overall. I was really into Nigel chasing Morishima for the title, the Joe farewell tour, Sweet and Sour Inc. and the Danielson/Morishima feud. The Steen and Generico/Briscoes feud was great too(although they should have won the titles at Manhattan Mayhem II). Age of The Fall started out really strong and their title win at Finale Battle 2007 was a big moment. Misawa coming in for a weekend was cool as well. KENTA vs Misawa in NYC was nowhere near as big as Joe vs Kobashi, but I was into it. I used to go to every NYC and NJ show, but I started losing interest in 2008 with Death Before Dishonor VI being the last show I attended (and I went without following the storylines) until the farewell Danielson vs McGuiness match a year later. Since then, I've been to about 3 or 4 ROH shows (last one being Final Battle 2011) but it's just not the same anymore. After Dragon and Nigel left, the only guys I really liked were Generico and KOW. I try to still catch the big shows though, but it's never a priority. As for Brent Albright, people already mentioned his two fantastic main event matches against Morishima, but he also had that solid "All tables are legal" match with Whitmer. But yeah, other than that, his run wasn't too great. I like several Elgin matches but I'm not as high on him as a lot of the current wave of ROH fans are.
