American Hustle - Saw this yesterday. Can't say I loved it as much as others have but I liked it. Seems like all the pieces are there for greatness but never quite got there. Some great acting as others have mentioned. Bale is all kinds of awesome. And good God, Amy Adams. She is awesome and.. hoo boy... scorching hot would be an understatement. Wasn't as impressed with JLaw. OK but nothing special. On a sidenote - my wife complained about the constant barrage of f-bombs. While that stuff doesn't generally bother me - and didn't here - she has a point. A lot of movies - this one included - replace actual quality dialogue with f-bombs and it's annoying. Anyway, 7.5/10.

Oh good grief, Tasker and Hester? At least Guy was the best at his position because he was good at that position. Tasker and Hester sucked at their other positions. Hester? The guy makes one or two plays a year and that makes him a HOFer? No way. Great returner, yes. HOF? No. And don't even get me start on Tasker. Harrison ain't getting in either - not with the life of crime stuff floating in the air regarding him.

Still waiting for my PS4 to arrive but it's no secret on here that the AC games are my favorite series. Assassin's Creed 2 is, IMHO, the best game of all-time. Loved the other two Ezio titles. Liked AC3 even with all its (many) flaws. Am very, very eager to get started on AC4.

He wasn't much below average, quite frankly. And .290 with 15 HRs and a below average glove sounds a lot like...Derek Jeter.

Along the lines of Broken Lamp '88's beef: An F-U to my co-worker that's been coughing INCREDIBLY LOUDLY all week. And sneezing. "I'm not contagious!" she says. Thankfully, I don't work RIGHT NEXT to her so I don't have to find that out for sure. I haven't gotten sick or anything but I have had to listen to her all week. And it's REAAAALLLLLY loud. And frequent. Seriously, stay home. Nobody wants to hear it. And the people in your cubicle pod sure don't want to catch whatever you might be spewing. Oh, you're not contagious? You're still spraying stuff all over the place every time you cough.

Fair enough. His reaction, to me, comes off as fake and over-the-top. LIke a guy trying to LOOK like how you "expect a macho bad guy to react" rather than a natural, organic reaction. I literally laughed out the first time I saw the scene and have cringed each time since.

Other than our usual "suddenly the other person can't hear you anymore" that we get from T-Mobile, she seems to like it just fine. It's almost exclusively used in speakerphone mode, if that matters to you.

Young had a really nice career. I'll take a guy that hits .300, 20 HRs and is an "eh" fielder in the infield. Unfortunately for his legacy, he got paid like a guy that hits .315 with 30 HRs and an above average glove.

And screwed out of a title in 1988. GRRR.

Plans got canceled and the wife was not feeling well, so last night was a big helping of The Shield - five episodes total (That's 3 + 2 + 5 = 10, EVA ). Must say that those 5 were a lot better than the 5 that came before them. Still not good but not awful either and there's at least some good moments - Dutch nailing the serial killer and then reacting in his car was good stuff. So maybe there's hope for this show after all I can do without seeing the "Vic gets told his kid has autism" clip again though. That scene is so painfully bad acting-wise that all involved, especially Chiklis, should be embarrassed.

While I wish I'd gotten the Genesis version, too, having now played the remake, I'm glad I didn't pay full price.
