  1. Include lots of Randy Savage "Ohhhhhhhh yeah" moments.
  2. There's football on TV all day and I get to eat lots of food. Sounds like a real holiday to me!
  3. It really depends on how wet the snow is. Your car can almost certainly take it unless there's an actual structural issue with the car. $10 an hour for shoveling that crap? Hell no. That's back-breaking work in miserable conditions. No thanks. Clearing off my roof 6 years ago when we got eight feet of snow over three weeks was bad enough. And that was with having a place to put the snow. Exactly, logistically, how are they getting the snow out of the stadium? You gotta carry it someplace and that makes the task really, really difficult.
  4. Farsight has the rights to Pinbot (as well as Bride of Pinbot) as part of The Pinball Arcade and released it on all of their various platforms (PS3, iOS, Android, Ouya, Kindle, and eventually PS4, 360, XB1). They supposedly have tried to get a 3DS version working but the system simply can't do it.
  5. 1. Two different writers. 2. We fans care about the score much more than reviewers do. I promise you they don't take other scores into consideration when they pick a number. They care about their writing. When that's done they'll just say, "Uh, I liked it. 8.5. Whatever." Most of them would rather not assign a numeral score at all, but people keep demanding it. Video game fans are addicted to outrage. I find I don't care too much about scores, especially for a game in a series I already like (AC). I read the review for any red flags that tell me the game will suck. Nothing in either review changed my opinion of whether I'll buy them. They both look like games I want to own.
  6. IGN really liked Far Cry 4 but...not so much Assassin's Creed Rogue.
  7. Sweet - the NCAAs are coming back to Spokane. Maybe I can land a press pass and hang out with Kevin Durant in the entrance tunnel again
  8. Some great stuff there from Cooley. I love detailed breakdowns like that.
  9. Pops goes into a nursing home Wednesday. He accepts it's the right thing but obviously is depressed about maybe never seeing his own home again.
  10. WTF. They not only made this terrible movie once, they made it again? Are the two versions pretty much exactly the same other than the parents?
  11. Damn, this was a really harsh - but accurate - assessment of Tiki. If he'd played his cards right, he could be working a booth like his brother (who isn't bad!). But no...
  12. Well, there's that, too.
  13. He said out a long suspension already. What should have happened was a fine equivalent to game checks for however many games you think he should be suspended for. Unless the NFL really thinks he should be suspended for the whole year, which is BS under their conduct policy.
  14. In the past, we either hosted Thanksgiving at our house* or my mother-in-law would host. MIL can't do it anymore and my wife simply no longer has the strength to do it since her cancer treatments. So we end up going to the local country club with the in-laws. I hate it. It's very sterile-feeling and I hate the idea of making the club's staff work to serve us on Thanksgiving. And, well, we don't get leftovers. I mean, you do, but the amount is always really small and my brother-in-law takes them. He generally foots the bill for the meal since he's the member there so I'm not gonna complain. But, quite honestly, one of my favorite parts of Thanksgiving is the massive sandwich I make from leftovers the next day. My wife will sometimes make a turkey for me for just that purpose. So, yeah, not a fan of the country club Thanksgiving. For the last few years, we've been invited to join some good friends of ours for the meal at their house. I would absolutely LOVE to do that. It would be tons of (great) food, a bunch of people I really like and just be big, loud, and fun - exactly how I picture it should be. We had Christmas dinner with them one year and that's exactly how it was. Just amazing. But...my wife wants to maximize every Thanksgiving with her parents she can get and so the country club it is Last time we hosted Thanksgiving, we had something like 17 people for the meal. We don't exactly having a dining room that can accommodate that many people so ended up just moving all the furniture out of the way and creating one big long table using folding tables. It was freaking awesome. It was big, it was loud, it was FUN. Awesome.
  15. Dunno if this is your thing or not but try contacting some local churches. My church does a thing every year where they host a thanksgiving dinner at the church itself. Anybody who wants to come is welcome to come.
  16. My game showed up today. Will be a couple more days before I get a chance to play it. By then, Ubisoft will have released 17 more patches. Still, the "Limited Edition" of a brand-new game the week of release for forty bucks? Yeah, I'm pleased.
  17. Even if the guy ignores you, I think it's being a Good Citizen to give him a heads-up. Especially if you can give him a copy of the text or something. After that, it's up to him to decide what to do with that info. I don't see it as being vindictive toward the girl at all.
  18. Another weekend, another video game documentary: Free to Play - Valve-produced documentary covering the DOTA 2 world championship tournament from...2012 or 2013. Not sure. They probably said and I missed it. Anyway, this is a well-produced documentary with nice production values. They focus on about half a dozen players from around the world and follow them at the tournament and at home. Some great stuff, with one guy whose parents basically tell him he's an idiot for playing all the time and that he used to get good grades, while he pines away thinking that winning the tournament will get him back his ex-girlfriend. Lots of talk about the viability of professional gaming as a career and then some pretty good coverage of the tournament itself. I don't play DOTA 2 - I haven't played a game on my PC since before I got my PS3 four years ago - but I was able to follow what was going on with no trouble. In the end, this is a "safe" documentary, given that it was done by the company who makes the game, but it was still good. I'm gonna say it's right at the Tabedoza Line - 7/10.
  19. You know they only did that because its a down year, no way they take a moral stand if their in title contention. . . sadly. . . Wish I could argue otherwise but I really can't. Not after the way the university handled Brendan Gibbons and Taylor Lewan.
  20. So I decided to put up the Christmas lights yesterday. Haven't put up lights in quite a long time - over a decade. Bought a bunch of icicle lights and commenced to hanging them up. After numerous hiccups (like starting with the first string going to the wrong direction, putting the plug at the wrong end, and having 30+ of the clips I bought bust when I tried to use them), I managed to finish getting them put up (10 minutes) before my wife came home from her weekend getaway. Whew. Nice surprise for her! She says "oooh, can't wait to see them when it's dark!" We go outside and....... THERE"S A 4-FOOT STRETCH IN THE MIDDLE OF ONE STRAND NOT WORKING. They were all working 3 hours earlier. WTF. Fortunately, I bought more strings than I needed so I can just swap it out but still.
  21. I think you should contact the other guy and tell him what's up. And kiss any friendship with either one of them goodbye.
  22. Couple polar-opposite games from Detroit over the weekend: Red Wings vs Blackhawks - Total domination from Detroit. Easily their best game of the year with everything clicking. A shockingly one-sided game. Red Wings vs Canadiens - Ugh. Detroit was flat from start to finish, looking a step slow throughout. They had a NHLPA-mandated day off of Saturday and played as if the entire team spent a very long evening at Goose Loonies Saturday night. Some fluky goals - the one that bounced off Kyle Quincey's, ahem, upper inner thigh, took a left turn and bounced down and into the net - but there was just no effort on Detroit's part. Babcock continues his mystifying (non-) use of Gus Nyquist, relegating him to little or no power play time for no apparent reason. Babock DID do something I've never seen before, certainly never in the regular season - he pulled the goalie down 4-1 with over 4 minutes to play. It didn't work
  23. Michigan has kicked DE Frank Clark - arguably the best player on a very good defense - off the squad for punching his girlfriend. In front of her brother.
  24. Watch for the bundles. There's a sale going on where you get a game and a DS3 controller for $100 total,
