  1. On one hand, I respect that he's willing to listen on anything. On the other...FOH
  2. "Wants"? Man, you really misinterpreted the shit out of that. All he said is that 154 wouldn't be impossible and that he's not immediately ruling it out if both sides want to talk about it.
  3. Totally reasonable for a guy with a degenerative knee condition.
  4. I liked Bosch, ran through the whole first season in about 24 hours. Yeah, it was a typical cop drama, but there weren't all that many ridiculous situations unfolding (compared to what you typically see in shows like this), the characters seemed pretty realistic, and it was nice and dark without being completely depressing
  5. Oh god Tim, that's going to end so well.
  6. It's the new market for local MLB TV deals. I believe it's now nine teams in the midst of billion dollar local deals.
  7. I've learned never to make predictions in February, because they end terribly for me. I will say this, though. To me, I only see three great teams and five that won't be contenders. The other 22 are somewhere in the middle. Gonna be an awesome year.
  8. Sad thing is, that'll be a better investment than Brian Wilson's $10 million last year.
  9. I love everyone losing their shit about Pablo when all the other pics of him taken today look fine. Hell, a Giants fan I know said he looked a bit skinner than usual
  10. Welp, Oliver isn't going anywhere until 2018 at the earliest now. 35 episodes a year? Niiiiiiice.
  11. Well, they're batting last. I assume they'll be still wearing the road grays. Not that it really matters, of course. Also, this is for Craig.
  12. Fox is smart enough to *not* do that.
  13. My dad and I got ejected from one of my Little League games when I was 11 or so. The umpire, who was supplied by the team we were playing in a rival league, was making some blatantly terrible calls to favor the home team. Dad rightfully called him on his bullshit and I got involved defending him. The league president ejected both of us and the umpire, umpired the rest of the game himself. My team apparently came back to win, shit kicking them in the process. I also got laughed at my opposing parents as a 10 year old when I tore my knee up because I was crying. Still have a scar, so thanks for playing, assholes.
  14. I don't think it's an awful idea, tbh. The only new AL parks that haven't hosted are the shithole Trop and the New And Improved Yankee Stadium. Every AL team aside from the Rays and the A's (which lol, won't happen) has hosted in the last 25 years. Meanwhile, Miami never hosted, SD and Cincy haven't hosted in their new parks, Washington and Philly haven't hosted in their new parks...the only AL park that I think would have a reasonable chance at hosting in '17 or '18 or '19 is OPACY.
  15. Random Tuco henchman that goes to Saul's office (and who's name I never caught) seems to be playing a similar character as what he does on Orphan Black...and I don't have a problem with that.
  16. I'm not hesitant to crap on Sunny, but they're having a great season. I think The League also rebounded pretty nicely in the fall.
  17. I think he's...fine. Which isn't a bad thing, but you expect more from your lead play by play voice. Curious as to where CBS ends up going now to replace Verne. All signs had them making a run on Davis. They have some fine internal candidates, but again - fine. Not great.
  18. All about the contracts. Each guy was going to jump ship without a promotion and quite frankly, both deserved a promotion. Davis wasn't doing PBP on Saturday anyway - wonder what happens to CFB Final with Holtz and May.
  19. The defending World Champions chose to be affiliated with one of those two teams this year, leaving the other one in the dust. I think you can discern which is which.
  20. Apparently the prelims for this drew 1.546 million, which is outrageous. Second highest total for a prelim card on FS1. Peak quarter hour was 1.992 million for Tate-McMann. Chick fights....
  21. The best part was that if you showed the first 45 minutes to someone that had never watched football before, they wouldn't be able to tell it apart from the other pregame shows. Brilliant.
  22. Think of it this way - the 14 "new" teams haven't exactly been great throughout history. Seattle: no pennants Texas: two pennants Houston: one pennant LAA: one pennant KC: three pennants Tampa: one pennant Toronto: two pennants Montreal/Washington: no pennants Mets: four pennants Miami: two pennants Milwaukee: one pennant Colorado: one pennant San Diego: two pennants Arizona: one pennant That's only 21 pennants in what, 53 years? Shocking that it hasn't happened, but we're not exactly dealing with a lot of overall success among the noobs
  23. I rectified something with Comcast billing support online in three minutes. Here's hoping it's actually rectified when I get my next bill.
  24. Team blogs are hit and miss. Because the pay rate for them is much, much lower than national-esque portals, the writers tend to do it out of "passion" as opposed to "money", and they don't really give much of a shit about necessarily improving their content - my way or the highway. If someone is a shitty writer (like ya boy Yellon), they're going to remain a shitty writer and they're not going to try to get better because there isn't much incentive. I'm friendly with nearly all of SBNation's Braves blog, and the previous head guy there ended up stepping down a year-plus ago and forming his own site because SBN wanted him to turn it into more of a job than a passion. I understand both sides of it. I've came across many, many people who love writing and love their teams and sports, but just don't have enough time to dedicate themselves to it for an extended period. You're not going to dedicate yourself full-time to it if you're getting paid peanuts (if that).
