  1. I had no idea Lo-Ki was half-black until right now.
  2. Watched Requiem for a Dream the first time a few weeks back and was convinced Ellen Burstyn HAD to have won for her performance there, only to look it up later and find she lost to Julia Roberts and Erin Brockovich. WTF?
  3. Superstar Billy Graham was way out of place and ahead of his time in the late 70's
  4. Charlie's fantasy being in cartoon form was perfect for his character. The whole episode was really great, actually. So far, Season 9 of Sunny has been great.
  5. What if they go with the fact that the "higher ups" in WWE pushed for John to return to the ring early. They can play up that his arm isn't fully healed, but HHH and Steph want him back now because it's "what's best for business". Del Rio's arsenal revolves around arm work. Cena sells his ass off all match, but pulls out the victory barely. Sandow cashes in on Cena and takes the belt. Del Rio and Sandow beat down Cena after the match and he takes a few more weeks off. That could help elevate both Sandow and the World Title to have Cena temporarily involved with winning the World Title, then Sandow beating him for the belt. Cena is then off TV for a few more weeks when he finally returns as a "surprise" team member on Team Bryan at Survivor Series
  6. I thought this was a pretty great show in-ring wise. All the matches were quite good. But yeah, that finish. What a bad way to end what was a good show up to that point.
  7. So it says to pre-order to play as Ultimate Warrior. What if you don't pre-order? Do you not get the Warrior and not get do the WM VI match? Or is it that you just don't get Warrior for Exhibition and Universe mode play?
  8. I love this show, but watching it today and thinking about the roster, there are very few guys there who I can see coming to the main roster and actually rising above a Justin Gabriel level. As much fun as Tyler Breeze is, can you see that act on RAW? I can't. I'm a fan of Leo Kruger, but there's something about him that just doesn't seem like a fit for the mainstream show. CJ Parker? Please. From the current roster, here's who I could see getting to the main roster and them actually doing something with: Adrian Neville - Smaller size, but his athleticism is too great to ignore. He'd get over with his great acrobatics and awesome twisting shooting star finisher. Tag with Evan Bourne when he comes back? Aiden English - Would be a great "understudy" for Damien Sandow Alexander Rusev - He's big. He's agile. He has a unique look. Give him a manager and let him be a silent killer like Umaga was Conor O'Brien - He's huge and has a unique look. I think the people who make these call ups would love to have a guy like this on the main roster, even though he's not great in the ring. Rick Victor, however, they can get rid of. He's useless. Kassius Ohno - We know how good he is. Can he discipline himself enough to get up to the main roster and prove it to the rest of the world? Xavier Woods - I think he has the charisma and talent to make it to the main roster. Perhaps he's a cousin of R-Truth or something? Sami Zayn - This one is obvious. He'll make it there soon and will become a big star. That's about it out of their pretty large roster. I think Corey Graves has a unique look that would get some attention from the "regular" crowd at first, depending on the vignettes leading up to his debut. But he can't back it up in the ring and he'd fizzle out pretty quickly. Everybody else is good within the small confines of the NXT show and crowds, but I just don't see any of them clicking on RAW or Smackdown. Enzo and Big Cass are a wildcard. They are quickly becoming big fish in a small pond and they are endlessly entertaining, but again, I don't know if their act would get the time on a main show to truly get over. The same could be said about almost all the Divas on NXT. All their characters are completely fleshed out way more than most of the Divas on the main roster, but Divas are given maybe 5 minutes a week and I don't see how Emma's goofy dancing gimmick would get over in RAW like it does in the smaller NXT atmosphere. Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather keep most of these guys on NXT where I can selfishly be entertained by their antics instead of them being called up and getting lost in the shuffle on RAW or Smackdown. Except for Sami Zayn. Get him up there stat. He's their next break through star.
  9. Read something on one of the "dirt" sites that an idea being passed around for Wade Barrett is repackaging him as "Bad News" Barrett. I'm all for that if he shaves his head, grows the beard, wears all black with a single glove, and gains about a 50 pound ponch
  10. He used a chair at the Night of Champions PPV
  11. According to some other spoiler report I read, Bray Wyatt vs Kofi Kingston and Curtis Axel vs. R-Truth for the IC Title were added to the Battleground PPV at the tapings as well. Full card: Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton - WWE Title Alberto del Rio vs. RVD - World Title Curtis Axel vs. R-Truth - IC Title Cody Rhodes/Goldust vs. The Shield - Tag Titles Brie Bella vs. AJ Lee - Divas Title CM Punk vs. Ryback Bray Wyatt vs. Kofi Kingston Dolph Ziggler vs. Damien Sandow - YOUTUBE PRESHOW What was the last WWE PPV that looked so underwhelming on paper as this one?
  12. RE: The leg slap kick There've been a lot of guys who do this, most notably in my mind when thinking about it is Test. However, I always justified it by saying that they are hitting their own leg right at the knee to give it just that last bit of torque/momentum for a little extra boost in speed for their kick. KAYFABE!
  13. Dexter. I came in to the show late and blew through all the seasons in the last year leading up to this final season. God Damn was Season 8 just shit with one of the worst finales ever.
  14. Season 7 of Curb Your Enthusiasm gives great closure to Seinfeld as it revolves around getting everybody together for a Reunion Special on NBC. They rebuilt the apartment and coffee house sets and do a couple of actual scenes. It was really great.
  15. With no brand split the title is no meaning. At least, before, he could be the "Smackdown champion" It's time to clean up their messy title situation. Just unify the IC and US and at this point I would also unify the WHC with the WWE title. And how will you make up the lost revenu from belt sales? It's sad that that's a really good point. The problem are the House Shows as they want to have a title match in every House Show and they still do branded shows. Still, is a ADR defense selling any ticket? Meh, everybody knows that it's bad to have all those titles. Just put the WHC in Cena to elevate it back and feud the two titles like Gabe Sapolsky always tries to do. Do collection editions of belts and overprice them. If they want to have titles make titles that mean something: have them be age or weight related or have some sort of gimmick. has any decent fed made a gimmick title where the champion decided in what kind of matches the title would be contested? One guy could make it an hardcore title~, the other a submission title, 2/3 falls, stupid rules etc. Would allow to put some prestige on the title and still change its flavour and keep it fresh. I just went to a house show here in Saginaw, MI where the main was a US Title match with Daniel Bryan vs. Dean Ambrose. Neither Alberto del Rio nor Randy Orton (WWE Champ at the time) was on the show. They don't need to have a "major" title match headline every house show anymore. They're at the point where WWE as a brand is what sells the most tickets, not the matches themselves. I don't think anybody buys a ticket anymore because they want to see a World or WWE title match. People buy tickets to WWE shows now to get the "WWE Live Experience" and see the Superstars in the ring.
  16. As great as is it that WWE is doing this to help awareness for Breast Cancer, I hate that they work with the Susan G. Komen foundation as they are basically a big scam. Hardly any of the money they make goes to actual research for finding a cure, with a majority of the money going to their own internal branding.
  17. Didn't there used to be a rule in NWA or something where tag teams had 1 or 2 legal saves/pin break-ups they could make per match, but once they went over that if they did it again they'd get disqualified?
  18. I think Masuka's daughter not being anywhere in the final episode is what made me the angriest. What the hell was the point of introducing that entire "story" in the final season if it was going nowhere? I kept waiting for the episode to take an unexpected turn an any moment and have her show up to drug Dexter and strap him to a table or something because he killed her real Dad in a previous season or something, but nope. Just pointless, poorly written, and aimless from episode 1 of this season. How horrible.
  19. His sell after the kick where he slowly went down while still trying to maybe cover Hawkins was sweet.
  20. Met the Big Show a few days ago. This is a very large man
  21. So what happens to this angle when Cena returns? Will this angle still be going by the time he returns? Does he come back as the REAL "face of the WWE" and join the HHH Corporation? Does he come back and save everybody from the evil HHH regime, stealing all the heat Bryan has built up in the months he's been gone? Where does Cena fit in when he returns?
  22. What if Los Matadores make their debut and it's Cody and Dustin under the masks?
  23. If Damien Sandow was so smart, where the hell was he to cash in the briefcase and take the World Title after ADR got hit with the Van Terminator?
  24. I was at the show last night and had a great time. I always get distracted by the live atmosphere and all the production and things like that to fully pay attention to every detail of the matches when I'm at a live event, so as far as actual match quality I can't really say, but I can tell you I wasn't bored all night. I'm looking forward to watching the broadcast of the show later tonight when I get home from work. Seeing reports of a dead crowd is strange as it was very lively in my section. DB definitely got the pop of the night with his entrance and then his title win. It's amazing being in an arena of 15 thousand and seeing 98% of them all doing the YES finger points in the air. It's quite amazing how over that and Bryan has gotten. Punk and RVD were also very over, as were the Prime Time Players. What suprised me the most was how over the Real Americans were during the Tag Team Turmoil match. During the CM Punk/Axel video package being shown on the screen, the arena was dark and I saw 15-20 guys come down to ringside, walk around it slowly, then leave. I knew somebody went under the ring at that point and that the match was going to end with interference and Heyman getting the win. I was suprised it was Ryback, though. Overall, I did have a great time at the show last night. Everybody knew the count was fast and was talking about how they're sure DB will be stripped of the title tonight on RAW, but didn't care. We were all basking in the glow if the title win and they sent us all home happy.
  25. My pics from Night of Champions. I saw some poor reviews of the show here and other places, but I had a great time there. Saw some posts about a dead crowd, but at least where I was sitting was very lively and in to everything. Biggest pop by far was Daniel Bryan, followed by CM Punk, and the Prime Time Players. Also, the Real Americans were getting cheered like crazy during the Tag Team Turmoil match http://imgur.com/a/vw1XG#0
