  1. I'd really rather not remember that, yet I do. That was a weird time. Speaking of Midnight Express, Scott Dawson kept hyping up the Eaton/Condrey version of the Midnight Express. I'm feeling the urge to check out some of their better matches but not sure where to start. Figure there's bound to be some on the Network so I wouldn't mind any suggestions to check out. I've seen their squash matches and have been impressed off of that alone. But I'd like to see some epics where they go against teams like Rock and Roll Express. Thanks.
  2. Mountaineer Rhinos? I like that name! I'd imagine they're going to have at least one other match to fill it out. I'm hoping with the brand-exclusive PPVs they can trim the shows down to two hours. No reason to have it go three when the roster is thin. And with it being a network special there's no commitment to PPV providers to worry about. One thing I'm immediately loving about this show is that you don't really know how these are going to play out. It seems reasonable to think AJ will win as he probably should. But the other matches have multiple scenarios they can go with and it doesn't feel like it's obvious who will win. Yeah, I'd want Becky to win and she should. But with Nikki there's she's a heavy favorite as well. And the tag tournament can go between Alpha and Mountaineer Rhinos. If they're in the finals are they going to have risk AA getting a bad reaction for denying Slater a SD contract? Yet as fun as Slater's been it'll be kind of weird for AA to not win it after all they've accomplished.
  3. I like the idea of the belts looking relatively the same. It's kind of like how UFC does the belts for the divisions, but they just make some color changes. I don't mind the Universal title nearly as much as others, but something to break up all that red would have been nice.
  4. I have no idea if that's true or who she is. But if true then Dean sure as hell upgraded.
  5. If you like EDM, you'll love this. And even if you can't stand it it's still a win. Everybody wins! Smackdown has been the better of the two shows, I think they're finding their groove now. Pretty much everybody has direction and the show breezes by. Considering Headbangers busted up both their opponents it's safe to say this is a one-off deal. They weren't as bad as they used to be, but I'd rather not see them again. Talkin' Smack had to be low-key compared to last week, no way should they have tried to go crazy on the show. Heath and Rhyno were killing it on both shows, from the trailer video to Heath offering Daniel to have Brie watch his kids for a week. Daniel's face before the offer was amazing as you could tell he thought Heath was implying a wife swap. And I'm down with calling Heath/Rhyno Beauty and the Man-Beast. Great stuff. Also really enjoyed AJ as he was amusing in the selling and when he went out of character.
  6. Hmm...considering you have this in the general NXT thread, not sure why it's here. But since there's another post in this I have to say I absolutely adored the tag title match. Well before Austin was gushing over it, I was just glued to the TV and was super into everything that was done. In my mind the Revival can do no wrong, but Ciampa/Gargano brought a lot to it as well. Easily my favorite match of the night.
  7. It's baffling to me how they've finally captured women's faces and such in a (mostly) decent matter for the toys and video games. Yet poor Renee, who is super attractive, looks downright terrifying in the game and her action figure. This has to be a joke, right?
  8. I was really hoping to see Sasha and Finn (Finn especially) But on top of Bayley being there on 9/12 now we get Owens as champ? Jeezus, that's going to be amazing.
  9. Normally they let them know before a match starts. But I can see them saying it's Seth that would win it, and HHH secretly told Seth what would really happen.
  10. Don't forget Kana/Asuka in that. I try not to think about things like this. It starts with the champs then I remember the relationship with Evolve. Then I remember who's in the CWC and NXT. And it all leads to one giant rabbit hole of "Is this really happening?!" From there my brain explodes and my poor wife has to clean up the mess. But yes, if we would say this would happen in 2016 even five years ago people would think we were having too much Iranian Tobacco. EDIT: Just noticed my reputation at this point is 666. Thanks, guys! I say it's time to play some hardcore metal.
  11. I'm 20+ minutes into it and I can't wait to get out of work to hear the rest. Steve gushing over the Takeover match is just absolutely wonderful, and it sure sounds like Dash/Dawson are as legit as it gets. Definitely worth listening to for sure.
  12. That's what I had to do. I wonder if I did that from the start of the career maybe I could have saved some time in the process.
  13. Fuck, that podcast was heavy. He was pretty much done with it all at that point. Colt replayed that not too long ago and it was cool to think he was NXT champ at the tune he replayed it. Now he's WWE champ. Good for him, so unbelievably happy for Kevin. The guy just straight up deserved it.
  14. Yep, time to seriously get HHH that fruit basket.
  15. When there's other quality podcasts out there, why put up with any of it at all? Unless there's a time stamp of when the road stories happen I'd just not bother with it. I can't believe he'd have the temerity to suggest that the Warrior DVD organically turned into a hit piece. I like Conrad as he follows what's going on and is good at asking questions that Flair doesn't really get to. Flair's show has had some damn fine guests as well. HBK and Cody episodes have been pretty great. The recent one with Angle is fun to hear his take on the Olympic wrestlers. Still need to finish up the Dana White part but from what I read in the recap it sounds like he gives some good information.
  16. With Dixie on her way out I can safely be all-in on supporting TNA now. Though with they way Billy's been featured on TV I'm sensing that my Dixie dislike will now transfer over to him.
  17. Aw, that's being generous. I say mid-late September. We should do guesses on this, see who can go closest without going over.
  18. Pretty fun show, liked what they did. The major gripe I have is the way they're Russo'ing the women's title. Knowing the spoilers it's odd that Allie won in that way considering next week. But I adore her so, so much and was pleased to see her win it anyway. It's possible she's really good at pulling off this character and I read too much into it. But it seemed like the reaction of the woman behind the Allie character was coming through in that. Either way it was a cool moment, and I loved her post-match interview when Maria was brought up. I still love the Broken Matt Hardy deal, but feel they should be kept out of the ring as much as possible. More skits outside the ring would be preferred at this point. They would have to do some pretty interesting stuff to make this feud with Decay seem like a big deal, and the Impact Zone is definitely not the place to do that. I did love the EC3/Galloway pool segment. It had an air of believability which I appreciated. It was two friends trying to figure out where it went wrong, but are still not above having a drink together. I'm so stealing the Henning toast and might even try that tonight when I go out. But it was a cool segment that led up to a good match. I liked that you get Galloway when he was still relatively cool only to contrast that with him losing his mind post-match. Aron wasn't needed as special ref, yet it was the right way to get a feud started between him and Galloway. Fun show all-around.
  19. They were, and even have a pretty awesome shirt on Pro Wrestling Tees. Apparently it's trademarked by a clothing company so neither group has it. But yeah, it was Ronda's group using it for a long time, and with her not around much it's been mainly brought up in WWE only.
  20. It might not roll off the tongue as well for you, but Four Horsewomen is the far better name to go with. And how can it be forced when from what I remember that's kind of what they were calling themselves to begin with? You don't have to get in an online argument, but at least look this up.
  21. I feel kind of justified in my liking ZSJ. I'll admit the first round was hot garbage. But before this all started I saw him at the Joppa Evolve show and saw him get challenged by Chris Hero. That was one helluva match and it was because of that sense of urgency. Good to see this kind of match this week, I'm hoping they can do more matches like as it'll better showcase ZSJ than any first round silliness will.
  22. I am so semi-irrationally happy about this. I cannot wait to hear this episode. If there's a guy that would dig what they're doing it's Austin. Funnily enough it's pretty much going to tie in with what TerjeRUN said about Steve's nuances. If you're tired of that it might be best to avoid it Tuesday. But for me I'll be all ears. Granted it also helps that I don't really hear Steve's shows that much since there's so much on. So for guys like him and JR, I don't have to hear it as much.
  23. With Bryan they had the concussion lawsuits that they were and still are dealing with. Overly cautious, maybe. They could and maybe should have tested the one failed result, but that still doesn't discount all the past injuries he had. I think it was best for him to retire anyway, guy's been doing this for well over a decade. Now if the door's slightly ajar for him to return, assuming Daniel does would that be wise for WWE to allow that? There's the lawsuits but also a potential PR nightmare should Daniel get a concussion again. With Balor that wasn't his fault. He was getting thrown semi-blindly into a barricade by Seth and had to find the a way to catch himself so his head didn't hit. I wouldn't put that on him.
  24. The Daniel Bryan stuff makes me incredibly sad. You either tease a return and it doesn't happen, further depressing him because it's bugging him enough as it is. Or he does return DESPITE all the concussions from ROH alone and more in WWE. That and that thing the one study found in his brain that made WWE say "You're done." The guy should be set for life and should just ride off into the sunset to make wonderful, tree-hugging babies. I was fine with him as Smackdown GM and CWC commentator, no risk and he can have some fun with it. But stuff like Talkin Smack and the Forbes article (Forbes? Really?) just seem like a bad idea. I might be a hypocrite like Beech27 if he wrestles awesome talent, but fuck this is sad.
  25. Yeah, career mode is quite tedious. For some reason they had me going against my rival well after soundly defeating him. At least put some kind of storyline reason why I'm have to go through him again, which sounds like something they're going to do with the next game. I would have thought once I became NXT champ it'd get interesting, but still wrestling people over and over again.
