This is my favorite tag team of the day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKo30Dlm4y8 The Great King Haka Buku.

He used the Akido in the episode! That was the best part. He did the chop and everything.

I'm not sure if Capaldi's character is defined enough yet for him to be out of character. This sort of synced with what we saw in the first two episodes. There were elements of impatience with Clara and the situation in general that you could spin into this situation. We'd just never seen him in a situation like this before.

Either inhumans age slightly differently or her dad gave her enhanced metabolism. Where's my no-prize?

I think it was 03 to be honest. I could be wrong. It's associated with Evolution in my head. From what I remembered it lasted a weekend until Vince realized it really wouldn't work.

That was like Austin going the Rock Bottom. Maximo's finish is pretty well protected.

It was Foley, Bischoff, Goldberg, and someone else. Still beats what we got that year. People were already complaining about how repetitive Raw was back then.

I've read a bunch of Pratchett but I never got that far. Works for me.

Maybe he won it for licking his armpit.

I'm pretty certain that Ernie Ladd is my favorite wrestler of all wrestlers that I've seen less than twenty matches of. Definitely for a US guy. I'm not sure who else would register outside the scumbag journeyman class of Chris Colt/Bobby Bass/etc. And I'm not entirely sure why. I first encountered him in mid-south, when I was watching the 84 season, two years before he retired due to knee problems, and when he was 46 years old. That's hardly in the guy's prime. We don't have a whole lot from his prime, as best as I can tell. There was just a presence to him, though. He was a big man who knew as well as anyone, how to work like a big man. You could tell that from just a few matches. It's the same thing that draws me to late-career Andre. He knew what to do with his size, and he knew how to get heat, and he know how to move the crowd, and he definitely knew what not to do. The guy had a presence that was proportional to his height, and it was obvious he knew his limitations and understood the art of pro wrestling well enough to work around it. For what we have in the 70s of him (and remember he was already deep into his 30s for a lot of what we do have), I think you can still see signs of that wisdom in the ring.

why would anyone want to see anyone in WWE, other than "hey, good for them (financially)" I mean, yeah.. can't wait to see KENTA be trotted out as comedy midcarder "Wacky Gatame" or some shit 1.) There are plenty of guys, especially on the US indy scene, who have a lot of talent and skill, but just need that polish. I think almost everyone who's come through the system in the last few years (Ambrose, Zayn, Rollins especially) have lost most of their bad traits while keeping almost all of their good ones and are much better workers because of it. 2.) There are people that I sort of want to see wrestle those people. TV isn't as strong as it was last year, but they still trot out good matches almost ever week, let alone PPVs. 3.) NXT is super fun to watch.

Well, this is the most confusing thing I heard all day. Thanks, NPR!

Podcast Potpourri (aka Not Austin, AOW, Talk Is Jericho....)

I don't usually listen to Cornette, but all of the Montreal stuff is very interesting. -
Yea, everything seems to be pointing towards Atlantis. Could still be a fakeout, but they've been too obvious with UG not just winning the Universal tournament, but beating Sombra to do it and beating Rush earlier - they're giving him the big wins to fatten him up for the bigger loss. I think the next big match is Atlantis against La Sombra - it would mean a lot more for Somrba than even beating UG, but there's a risk Atlantis isn't going to make it another year. He's slowing down more each year. He's not doing Undertaker WM matches, he's working a lot easier, but they're taking the risk of his body just giving out at some point and not being able to do the matches they want to do. Where do you think they'll go with Rush next?

Remember I could two like 2 months worth of footballers turned wrestlers. Look, we've got enough problems around here without attracting Jim Ross as a poster.

Honestly? Changing diapers is a breeze. It's cleaning up after real food gets introduced that's rough.

In that case, tell us Tracy Smothers stories then.
-
Stop wasting your time with that and go watch a bunch of Tracy Smothers.

So the odds are favoring Atlantis winning? That's what the WON seemed to indicate. I'm sort of boggled by that decision in that if UG wins, they can build to him losing the mask vs Rush next year, and yeah, that'd be less important than him losing it to Atlantis, but if they're going to take the mask off him anyway, there seems a ton more value in having two big matches instead of one and it's not like Atlantis can't serve in sort of a Blue Panther role without the mask (and Dave indicated as such) and do some big celebratory tours without it or whatever.
