What staggers me (and I know it shouldn't) is that they aren't even trying to replace them with anything even vaguely interesting. Shift things around a bit. Put on another hair or mask match or at least a title match or an atomicos match or anything. But that's just now how they operate. The thought probably never even crossed their mind. That they thought to bring Park and Wagner in to begin with (for something other than to hype an indy show or a postage stamp or something) was far more a deviation.

While I do think Eva vs Austin would be a draw, there's more of a built in story with Cameron vs Austin.

Well, according to the sales figures on Comics Beat, issue 42, the first one I read, lost over 18% in sales and was down to almost 22,000 units moved, which is damn near cancellation territory. Unless it's doing gangbusters in digital sales, Valentine may want to think about changing direction pretty quick because this mob story arc isn't bringing in the readers. EDIT: Admittedly, Lobo is selling in the 12,000 unit range, though even then, with DC cutting back on royalty payments, I can't imagine Ms. Valentine is going to be very happy when she gets her direct deposit statements from Time-Warner payroll. So to sum up: despite your differences in opinion, you're expressing deepfelt sympathy to Mr. Dragon, in that a comic he's very passionate towards will probably be unsustainable in the direction he is enjoying so much. Because otherwise, you're really just being a dick.

Well, 13 year olds are stupid. He's extremely excited for the new season of Doctor Who, save for the fact that it's starting weekend after next and not last weekend. Likewise the Rick Riordan book coming out in a month or two. Star Wars though? Not so much.

I'm enjoying just about everything. Renew Your Vows had some pretty groanworthy bits of dialogue. I'm ready for it all to wrap up though.

That said, the Mil vs Bock match isn't on Tharpe's list of Bockwinkel matches, who who the hell knows really. There's a science to it but it's all a little shaky. From that card, I can't imagine having Rip vs Johnny Rich but not Dusty vs King Kong Bundy. My impression is that they're still cataloging a bit.

As best as I can tell, and from what has been uploaded, they definitely had complete shows in the 80s. Usually they focus on a couple of cards each week, but it's all about when matches come back from the "process" and some matches are in better shape than others. I think there was some hesitation to air things without commentary at first, but they've gotten over that. A lot of times now, if they post a certain match on a Monday, then we can have some sense of some of what to expect for the rest of the week. Deeper into the 70s, they might have less than full cards, but usually the undercards were weaker back then. I don't know that for a fact though. One thing that Tharpe says repeatedly is that Boesch did not put bad matches on TV.
