  1. To wrap this back around, didn't Cracker Barrel have a prior connection to wrestling in some way too? Like THE RYBACK used to love to go there or something?
  2. "SDL is STUPID, STUPID, STUPID, STUPID, STUPID, STUPID, STUPID" was right there as a title. Just sayin' I look forward to that being used for plenty of Botchamania endings from now on
  3. "Sunrise... Sampler..." Fuck I love Cracker Barrel. But I swear I've never had anything but breakfast there.
  4. Because the last Smackdown thread is dead I'll put this here. My favorite part of that show aside from those great matches had to be Bryan screaming in complete monotone YOU DON'T DESERVE THAT!!! YOU'RE A COWARDLY LIAR!!! YOU'RE A COWARD!!! AND A LIAR!!! while they were beating up Buddy Murphy. I forgot what exactly he said so I didn't mention it but seeing it again just cracked me up again. It's up there with ZSJ throwing the fit about Boris Johnson recently.
  5. Hansen Funk Kawada Bret Foley Tenryu Vader Eddy Hash Casas/Santito (coin flip) and there's a big old asterisk who you can probably guess is EDIT: Switched from Jumbo to Hash. Sorry old man, didn't want two coin flips
  6. I surprisingly found Kinji Fukasaku''s Cops vs. Thugs on Night Flight Plus. It's solidly in the vein of his Battle Without Honour or Humanity series of yakuza films with the title being more of a comparison than a competition between the two sides. Pretty much everyone is a snake in this one, from the slimy city council head that wants to rig land bids for polluting oil companies to the brutal. straight-laced police head who starts to clean up his division by picking fights with his peers where he can use off his significant judo skills. The lead is a solid antihero trying to strike a balance between the cops and the yakuza. Give it a watch if you're in for some nihilism (and can handle the rampant misogyny which is just par for the course).
  7. I didn't recall ever having seen the Showboat match between Bock and Curt before so I tracked it down. It's a doozy. If you like Flair/Steamboat (like you don't) then you should dig this a lot. There's some matwork in here as fast and as fluid as any lucha maestros. Lord James Blears gets to rambling and naming wrestlers too often but they gotta keep the time filled somehow. Plus, blood!
  8. MEAT BULLET has to be a tag name for a puro team now.
  9. Possibly considering he's so used to having to do that for other people at his other job Oh wait you didn't mean literally...
  10. "Real aminal" and using the Conan soundtrack cracked me up haha. There's just no way to watch that and not think it's Santino. Forgot about Bloodsport. If he's healthy I dunno why he's willing to risk it but that's wrestlers for ya.
  11. That Styles Clash... yikes. Personally I've always thought it was a goofy and overly dangerous move that didn't look like it actually hurt much. THAT looked the exact opposite. Runner up was the tope con giro that wiped out five rows of chairs EDIT: LuFisto/Jordynne was great, minus the suplex no-selling (or All Japan selling. You know what I mean). I've never seen Lu before and she looked great, both of them cut a super pace. The vest guy deserved the multiple slams for sporting a giant Testament patch and both Lu's reaction to the ref and the ref's reaction to them about to come after him were hilarious. And Cornette clearly does not know the meaning of the term "butterface" but we already knew that.
  12. Woke up with this in my head yesterday and sat on it all the way until now just to play by the rules. Now it's YOUR turn to hear those horns for hours...
  13. I really wish I had a set of just the Dangerous Alliance stuff. More than that I wish I had all that good WCW that WWE has on the Network that I missed when I was a kid, thinking that Turner was supposed to be second rate. ?
  14. Graves looks like he stepped out of Spring Breakers or something, all he needed was a couple chains. Bayley and Nikki had a nice little match. Glad Eddie pointed out those Iron Crosses btw. Those are totally unnecessary and, frankly, quite creepy being on there. Putting a symbol of right wing German nationalism right there given current events is not very well thought out, to say the least.
  15. The sudden storm that hit out here and dropped the satellite feed was very welcome.
  16. Considering how little Santino bumped back in America, I doubt he did any. All he has to do is the splits and the Cobra and yuck it up... that's all he ever had to do matter of fact. And the judo thing was probably just a vacation.
  17. Johnny Valhalla actually has a nice ring to it
  18. ...and the only video I can find of HG/RG vs. Tenryu/Kawada doesn't have a second half. Dammit.
  19. Okay, I'll take Jarrett beating up little kids and garbling his words as acceptable pro wrestling.
  20. The only time Jeff Jarrett was ever worth more than a wet fart was when he was bleeding in Memphis
  21. I don't think I've ever paid eight bucks to rent any single film
  22. https://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/jacobs-ladder-movie-review-2019 Ouch. So which one of us is gonna take the hit and watch this POS?
