  1. Cujo is one of King's favorite adaptations (he called it a "bad mother") and once they get past the family crap and kick it into gear, it's a killer. Too bad they changed the crucial part of the ending from the book. Black Cat has next to nothing to do with Poe; it's a psychic horror film that's actually pretty good and fairly subdued for Fulci. Can't wait for Danger: Diabolik to fill out my missing Bava credits!
  2. Going to a legit Kosher deli is still on my bucket list so this is definitely on my watch list
  3. Yes, we know, it's awesome. My psuedo-apology was because I'm such a horror fan that I immediately thought of that instead of any drama, because yeah it is awesome. And keeping on that tip, regardless of what you think about the actual film, something else that looks absolutely awesome (scenery/locations/makeup/costumes/lighting, everything): The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. It says BEST looking. Not prettiest. And I think Scarface is a strong nominee for period setpieces, color, costumes, and camerawork too.
  4. Bolo Ray sprinting with three broken ribs is just flat out stupid to write into the script.
  5. I watched the segment today and was afraid the axe was gonna bounce back and pierce Brock with the pointy end. But then, even a fireaxe fears the Beast, I suppose.
  6. 1983's Austrian film Angst is getting a re-release. I've never heard about this before now, but I'll be damned if it couldn't have been shot last year from the looks of it, both in tone and cinematography... pretty intense, to say the least. Apparently a big influence on Gaspar Noe of Irreversable infamy. NSFW if you didn't guess
  7. Bram Stoker's Dracula immediately came to mind for some reason. I know, I know.
  8. Like someone who is actually really good and you just hate them... hmmmm... probably Okada. I would say Naito but his heel work is endearing. Same for Tanahashi.
  9. Alberto is best as a heel and they need to turn him on LU, but they can't possibly do that until the possible next season. You can tell his promo game immediately jumped after the WWE writers weren't putting words in his mouth. It's been awhile since I can find someone I can irrationally hate, like a Jeff Jarrett or a Justin Credible, in modern wrestling. Even Miz will eat shit for our pleasure, even Tetsuya Naito will pull a good match out of his overrated ass every once in awhile. Hell I even like Kofi right now. Kane is up there though. If I watched ROH more someone from there would probably top the list. EDIT: Oh yeah! My/our least favorite LU performers, Killshot and Sexy Star, would top it. At least Sexy looks good.
  10. Awesome, now we can ignore Koji Kitao forever. It's funny reading that thread and seeing NO matches AT ALL. The photo of Takada's leg a split-second away from connecting with Kitao's ear says it all anyway.
  11. The You Don't Know Jackie Chan Marathon is gonna have six movies. The Young Tiger is actually on right now. Cujo and The Black Cat are your Creature Feature for Friday but if you wanna catch Cujo early it's on tonight (along with The Thing and Darkman)
  12. As someone who has Excitable Boy sitting on his turntable right now, I'm 100% down for some Warren getting played on this show (or any other, really).
  13. Hara is way better than Pete thinks, check his WOTD thread. Speaking of shitty ex-sumos, did we ever do Koji Kitao? Goto was in some really weird stuff over the years. The first Exploding Electrified Cage Match: Karate vs. Wrestling: Handicap match against the freakin' ELIMINATORS?! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oEZxnD4G5o And here is a match I personally uploaded just because it is so witheringly violent of an old-school brawl. A must-watch: EDIT: Here's DEAN's review of the above
  14. Man, Crypt Sermon is right in my wheelhouse. I gotta get ahold of their stuff.
  15. I just sent Earache a pretty chunk of change for their vinyl re-release of this, should be here this week Sadly the totally boss extra colors were already sold out and I had to get the black: http://uswebstore.earache.com/vinyl/carnage-dark-recollections-vinyl Swedish death + Dan Seagrave art = perfection Oh, btw, this band turned into a little band named Dismember and was the first sighting of a young guitar player named Mike Amott
  16. Damn, I watched that one night all wasted and remember nothing of it except that I liked it. Guess I'm glad I don't remember.
  17. Ask and ye shall receive https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZfegVmLrY4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KYKyKpkJco
  18. I thought it was hilarious how the commercial for Battlebots was like "THIS IS A REVELATION! NEWEST THING ON TV EVER!" when it's like, "I was watching this shit on TV when I was a kid."
  19. Yep. I have heard so many fucked-up things about police (and crime) in and around Oakland from friends that live out there. I think one of the last things was they were installing a computer database that chooses sectors to pre-police, assuming there will be crime there no matter what. That's just plain creepy.
  20. This shit is getting so OTT that there's no way I will stop watching. Fucking Vince Vaughn getting into a fistfight at a gathering of local gangbangers and then C'mon, man. Those scenes at the hospital and the dad's house hit a little close to home though. Believe me, there are people like Bolo Ray and his dad out there.
  21. Phil really should upload that to Youtube for us, it was on his comp after all.
  22. Remember when y'all called him Tarzan Scroto and hated on him? Yeah that sure changed... Three parts, follow the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBIV13dG7Hw Nakamaki screaming is still freaky. God that is disgusting. Oh and this is missing the part where Goto berates and beats the shit out of X afterwards. Who the hell was X, anyway? I'm leaning towards Winger.
  23. I have to say, Truth coming out with the spraypainted bedsheet, paper crown and see-through plunger complete with water made me laugh my ass off. He even hit a really nice Flatliner! Thumbs up, Ron. Also, Mark Henry: "Tonight he gonna get his hairline pushed back."
  24. The Untold History of the United States documentary series by Oliver Stone is playing on Showtime right now. Book is better, but doc is equally heavy. Despite what you might think about Stone it's worth the watch more than any Ken Burns miniseries I've seen.
