  1. It doesn't seem like you guys know how hard it is to make it to D-1 college football or how hard it is to get a whiff of the NFL.
  2. I think that the WON is the least flawed HOF in wrestling, however becoming eligible at 35 is just the worst. Omega and Naito shouldn't be on the ballot because there is so much time. AJ Styles and Jericho fell off the ballot before they had their best years. That being said... WRESTLERS: Sputnik Monroe, Enrique Torres, Jun Akiyama, Akira Taue, Cien Caras, Karloff Lagarde, Blue Panther, L.A. Park, Mark Rocco, Johnny Saint NON WRESTLERS: Bill Apter, Gary Hart, Howard Finkel
  3. I don't know but does anyone think that Mike Rotundo was anything but kind of bland? He's what the color beige would look like if it wrestled.
  4. And would it kill Eric to do some research? He said Bret's book was ghost written (it wasn't) and Jericho's was published by the WWE (it wasn't). Just take a few minutes and try to recall and write notes before the recording.
  5. I think it's safe to say that Flair would get his own thread.
  6. It was a great, great show. - The spot where EC3 was pancaked by the ladders made me think he was dead. I'm not the biggest Velveteen Dream guy because his gimmick feels horribly dated, but he is turning a corner. - Shayna Bazsler should give people hope on Rousey. She definitely has it. - Percy Watson adds nothing to the broadcast. In fact, I think that Nigel did the best job when he had to do it by himself after they took out the broadcast booth. - Cien is going to be huge on the next level. What's funny is that a lot of you guys are back peddling like Deion Sanders covering a wide receiver. A bunch of you left him for dead. - No surprises at ringside for once. The WWE has too much talent to begin with. - And if I'm turning on someone, I'm not going to turn on the guy that brings his belt down to the ring in his teeth. Pete Dunne would be the last one I'd try that on.
  7. It's because of the ceremony. All of the HoFs have glaring weaknesses, but the WWE's is the one that has a public induction in front of thousands of fans. It's a nice reward for your career.
  8. I guess that there's not going to be a Heritage Class this year which is a shame because there are so many deserving candidates. Jim Londos, El Santo, Johnny Valentine, Dick the Bruiser, The Crusher, Sam Muchnick, Paul Boesch... just so many important names who need to be in.
  9. Madusa might be a candidate for the naming of the battle royal. She was the first one to make it to the big time without Moolah's influence.
  10. I have to think that Lawler is inducting him. And once again, nothing is impossible. CM Punk will main event a WrestleMania one day. There is no never.
  11. And the reason that they didn't have the talent is because he was picking the players. I'm betting that the reason that weasel is staying in New England is because he's been promised the keys to the castle when the hoodie retires.
  12. Dear God... the definition of hell is Jerry Lawler calling any women's match. With a Rumble in play? Oof.
  13. Color me shocked that he's still going by EC3 given that his name is directly related to Dixie Carter. They've been much better about having guys come in under their established names, but this one caught me off guard,
  14. Yet Larry Walker has a higher WAR than both Manny and Vlad... and was a multiple time Golden Glover. But since he had the temerity to play for the Rockies for most of his career, he's on the outside looking in.
  15. I'm not as high on The Miz as most people here, but he came in with an attitude and then figured shit out. Enzo was a cancer. He never learned and just continued to be a problem over and over again. I can't remember the last time where I was happy to hear that a guy was given his walking papers. And if this is true, then he's the worst person since Benoit.
  16. It's pretty much Southern fare and seafood, you could do worse. I'd be more concerned about Minnesota winning. There are so many juicy lucys you can eat before hitting the lutefisk and the lefse.
  17. You hit the nail on the head. To me, it speaks volumes that Peyton Manning decided to retire as a Bronco and not a Colt. The same organizational disfunctions are still in place: vapid ownership and just building around a franchise quarterback that if he goes dow you're screwed.
  18. To paraphrase what another poster said about Norv Turner a couple of pages ago... if I could send a "I'm sorry about your team hiring Josh McDaniels as your head coach" I totally would. Josh is the Vince Russo of NFL coaches.
  19. Lewis, Moss, Urlacher, Boselli and Lynch for the Hall along with Kramer and Beathard. And I'm not a huge Lewis guy, but he's as decorated as any defensive player in the history of the NFL. I would vote for Owens, but in my opinion Moss is the second best wide receiver ever behind Jerry Rice. Urlacher is a first ballot guy. Boselli is the best tackle of his generation not named Jonathan Ogden. And I had to homer pick Lynch because Steve Atwater and Karl Mecklenburg were taken off the ballot. I'm still amazed that a franchise that has been to eight Super Bowls has five Hall of Famers. Randy Gradishar, Louis Wright, Steve Atwater and Karl Mecklenburg should absolutely be in the Hall and Rod Smith, Tom Nalen and Jason Elam should get more consideration.
  20. I'd just started to follow Rose Marie on Facebook and she was quite active. What a life.
  21. Enberg was so great. So versatile. Legitimately in the argument for the best in football, basketball and tennis. Al Michaels may be the last great announcer.
  22. No, just no. The Young Bucks are just Hardy Boys cosplayers. That's all they are. To compare them to anyone important is laughable.
  23. My point was more about the singer/songwriter genre (Dylan, Simon, Prine, Drake et al) than about just general songwriting itself.
  24. Objective and subjective are interesting when it comes to any kind of art. For example, objectively Bob Dylan is the greatest singer/songwriter of all time. No other artist in that category has the discography or influence that Dylan has. Subjectively, you might think that Nick Drake was better. Your personal taste doesn't mean that historical saying Dylan had a bigger impact.
