  1. It's been a while but I remember that pretty much being how all of the wrestlers that came over post-acquisition from WCW being more or less treated. The only real exceptions being when Goldberg and the nWo finally came in.
  2. I have to say that my mind boggles a bit at the lack of Person of Interest talk on here. It seems like it checks so many of the boxes that would resonate here.
  3. I watched a couple minutes of From Dusk till Dawn the other night but I just can't watch SD TV anymore. It just looks so horrible.
  4. The only way that we get a shared universe would be if Ollie shows up in a stinger at the end of the Batman/Superman movie. While some of it might think that it be smarter to go a Marvel route, DC/WB/Time Warner seems to prefer to keep all 3 arms separated. Personally I blame the Green Lantern movie.
  5. I live in a musical wasteland luckily surrounded by 3 decent sized cities so spring and summer usually involves a lot of bus trips and hostel stays. I'm kicking the season off with Fifth Harmony and Cut Copy next week which seems to be a bit of a mismatch but they just happened to be in Buffalo on back to back nights. Plus it just seems hard to see a lot of pop acts without going to a stadium or some outdoor radio station promoted event.
  6. The Warriors and Portland have a crazy fourth quarter which saw the Warriors come back from being down 18 at one point to win the game. The western conference playoffs are going be some crazy fun matchups this year.
  7. If you think the premiere is super dreadful I don't know if the show would ever get better for you. But I would say if you're looking to give it a shot give it to probably the eighth episode.
  8. The Knicks seem like the embodiment of why we end up with lockouts when the CBA is up... because the owners need to be saved from themselves. The Knicks sign a bunch of players to bad contacts resulting in them having to wait for those contacts to expire to do anything in free agency which in turn uses up the rookie contract years of any of their young talent. Didn't we just do that a few years ago?
  9. I can't really think of any extravagant entrances that have ever really gotten old for me. That said I think Rose's entrance is one that probably has the most legs to it. The best I could even compare it to would be the Godfather in that every show you can go out and use a mixture of local workers, go-go dancers/strippers, backstage crew, and real fans to give him a different assortment of "Rosebuds." Then you take maybe an hour and hit up thrift stores, toy stores, costume stores, porn stores, etc.. to give them some crazy mixture of outfits and accessories. So overtime you make the fans excited and wanting to turn in just to see what his intro is going be like this week.
  10. I have to say that I'm glad that the new episodes are still being put on Hulu, lack of NXT would be probably the thing that would have caused the most regret about not keeping the Network after the trial period. Besides what everyone chimed in about Adam Rose's intro at a WrestleMania, I just thought how many great party drug related angles they could go with. You could have him having a bad trip during matches or have a heel demand drug testing before a title match forcing Rose to go through withdrawal symptoms in the weeks leading up to the match. None of which would fly nowadays in a family friendly WWE but I was amused at the thoughts anyway.
  11. Watched the third fourth second half of season three premiere of Suits and I feel like the worst thing the show could do is draw more attention to how horribly unsustainable the premise is. I still mostly enjoy the show and the characters but a season built around the fact that Mike didn't actually go to Harvard seems like a quick and easy jumping off point for me.
  12. I totally forgot that the Warriors were playing a back to back and facing the Celtics tonight. Looking at the box score I didn't miss much though.
  13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEZQUcjG6AY The trailer kinda speaks for itself.
  14. Hrm. I'll give the first TBP a shot. I've heard good things but I had also heard the whole incorporating things from the show. Green Arrow is just one of those characters that I've always wanted to read but has never really had a direction that I was horribly interested in except for maybe the OYL Judd Winick run.
  15. Well TECHNICALLY the last paragraph doesn't contradict the first paragraph. He had a clear mask that he practiced with BUT he wasn't comfortable with it, so he played with the black mask. My thing is did this draw as much attention with Kobe and Kyrie? God bless the 24/7 news cycle.
  16. I'm willing to suffer through ESPN announcers tonight just for the joy of commercials solely based around Curry burning them last season.
  17. So I might be willing to actually check out a nu52 book but figured I'd ask and see if anyone else has any thoughts. Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino's Green Arrow seems to be getting a bit of praise, so anyone been reading it here? Worth checking out? And if so, would I be fine with just jumping in with Lemire's first issue?
  18. After the stream crapped out on me last night, went ahead and watched the whole show again. Cesaro/Zayn and Paige/Emma were great on their second watches with me probably actually liking Paige/Emma slightly more. I think the MVP of the ladder match has to be the production crew. While they missed one or two spots earlier in the show they did an awesome job during the ladder match. So many of the spots were made better by the fact that they ended up looking like they came out of no where because of the production crew. Rewatched the whole show this afternoon after the stream crapped out on me last night. Cesaro/Zayn and Paige/Emma were as great on their second watchings as they were on their first. That said I think I probably ended up liking Paige/Emma slightly more. The ladder match was a really solid ladder match. Really I would say it should be what a ladder match should be nowadays as they did a lot without completely killing each other and without killing the gimmick of the match. Sometimes teasing the "oh my god" is better than actually doing the "oh my god" spot. Plus the production crew was on it during the ladder match. So many of the match spots were made that much better by the fact that Bo and Adrian just seemed to pop out of no where. I was a bit surprised that no one made a joke that the reason Regal was married "17 times" was in fact because of his habit of calling women the wrong name.
  19. Looks like they fixed/corrected the videos available by searching, Still haven't made it through my first PPV. I was doing good with In Your House till I accidentally backed out of it. When I skipped back to where I left off the constant buffering was too frequent to take watching seriously. Thinking more and more of canceling after the week trial and maybe checking it out again later when more of the bugs are worked out.
  20. Has anyone actually accessed these videos that are not on the schedule but apparently has a video for? So far I am stuck on the ratings. I've watched one or two old Monday Night Raws that are only available via searching.
  21. I don't know how many people have noticed this but there's A LOT more available when you search via the website or the mobile app instead of the PS3 app.
  22. I say this as a non-nu52 reader but Forever Evil has seemed like it has been the longest crossover/event ever. And just from reading the occasional issue review it seems like there has been next to no payoff so far. Plus I can't imagine how much it must suck to be a Nightwing fan. "We did something major to the character but you're going have to wait a couple months to see the payoff but in the meantime keep buying his book!"
  23. Just finished watching Trance which I really enjoyed. Pretty early into the film I guessed that I had it figured out and kept thinking I was right till I found that I was really wrong and ultimately pretty much completely wrong. Not a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination, unless we're talking about Rosario Dawson, but still a fun and entertaining thriller.
  24. I'd probably argue that if you're going with T-Mobile post-paid you'd probably might as well spend the extra $10 and go with the unlimited everything plan for $70. I've been on the T-Mobile pre-paid $30(5 GB of 4G data, unlimited texts, 100 minutes) plan for about two and a half years and you can't beat the price if you don't make a lot of calls. I have been thinking of going post-paid and switching to the $70 plan for the simple fact that no T-Mobile based pre-paid service supports conditional call forwarding which is annoying for Google Voice users. Wireless service is definitely a YMMV will vary depending on your city and even more so the area that you live in. Personally where I live I get pretty much LTE service 95% of the city with a couple spots where I'll get service but just not LTE. Chief complaint for most people with T-Mobile will be that once you exit metropolitan areas you're going see a drop in quality. In my travels I've rarely seen myself have no service at all but most of the time you'd be hard pressed to do anything besides make a call or send a text. And remember with T-Mobile you're essentially just paying for the phone spaced out over the months. So if you can find the T-Mobile compatible phone you want, or any other phone for that matter, cheaper you can always just buy it and walk into a T-Mobile store and purchase the appropriate SIM for it. Plus check with your job, bank/credit union, alumni association, etc... and see if they have a discount plan set up with T-Mobile. It won't help if you buy a phone through T-Mobile but it will save you on your monthly plan.
