  1. I'll be honest, I haven't re-subbed so I didn't watch it myself yet. That doesn't sound as bad and seems plausible.
  2. Did Lesnar just have a five week camp? I haven't read all the pre-event stuff as I never do, but I had just assumed he had been at least somewhat preparing for a UFC run since WM, figured he didn't literally decide five weeks ago he wanted to fight again and that he had been in negotiations for at least a few months to give him prep time. But stranger things have happened.
  3. I think people are underestimating Brock a bit. I'd bet on Hunt too to win but most of what I see online is people predicting a first round KO for Hunt. Brock has never been knocked out and while he did look rough in his last two fights, that is when he was battling diverticulitis. In the Carwin fight he showed that he was able to take a beating and out-stamina a heavy hitter, and he man-handled Mir. If Lesnar gets Hunt to the mat and can just out-strength him, I could see him pulling out a victory.
  4. I loved how they kept in mistakes. They could have re-shot or re-edited but they knew part of its charm was not being perfect. Like at the end you can see Hardy testing out the lighter as Hardy went up, or the mentioned ladder spot (I still have no idea if he was supposed to completely miss Matt or not). I thoroughly enjoyed all of it, something that you don't want to see for two hours but so bizarre and unforgettable.
  5. Since I don't think there is any evidence that Lesnar is much of a draw in WWE at the moment, I don't think it will hurt it either way. Plus I agree with whomever said it that 98% of the population knows the difference between MMA and wrestling, and the 2% that don't probably don't have high speed Internet so they can't get the Network anyway. Winning or losing in a real fight doesn't mean anything in a fake fight, unless you are Dr. Death Steve Williams. I just don't see it as a big deal one way or the other, except that it shows how much power Lesnar has over WWE. I think he and The Rock are the only two that can call all their shots in WWE, and possibly Taker.
  6. Anyone that was into Joshi back in the day know the story of what happened to GAEA? From what I have read, from 1998 to 2000 it was the #1 Joshi promotion with the Crush Gals angle, Aja Kong, a young Meiko Satomura, etc. but it shut down in 2005. In 2004 they were still getting 1.2K+ fans at Korakuen Hall all year, and had over 3K at their big April event so there was still some interest. Plus even though they lost wrestlers they had gained regular participation from Toyota and Hamada, they still had a stacked roster up until the end. Since today I am used to promotions floating along just find with 600 to 800 averages at Korakuen it just seems like it was doing too well to dissolve. My theory (based on nothing) is that around that time wrestling in general in Japan was starting to go down, especially Joshi, and maybe back then the promotions weren't structured financially to manage with the smaller crowds while promotions these days know how to manage. But it still just seems unusual looking back at it without any backstory. I mean I know by then they had announced they were closing but their last two shows had attendances of 2,300 and 5,800 (I know those both had 'retirement matches' but its still a massive turnout) so they clearly still had their fans, unless there was just some major backstage drama or Nagayo at the time was serious about retiring and wasn't interested in running the promotion.
  7. On one hand, he is clearly wrong, Yokota in particular was amazing. On the other hand, I respect that he is just saying whatever the hell he wants and not being PC about things. But common sense would say he is just mad that both 'retired' from AJW before wrestling in other promotions that competed with AJW in the mid-90s. Which was partly due to AJW's policy that forced wrestlers into retirement before they were ready to retire (plus other factors, probably a book could be written about that).
  8. Only one I could quickly find was AJW on 12/13/86 (well it is a 12 wrestler elimination match but same theory): Chigusa Nagayo, Yumi Ogura, Kazue Nagahori, Yumiko Hotta, Yachiyo Hirata, and Bison Kimura vs. Dump Matsumoto, Bull Nakano, Condor Saito, Kaoru Kage, Drill Nakamae, and Yasuko Ishiguro. Don't think I have that one but I'll check.
  9. Maybe, do you have any dates of famous/important ones? I am woefully behind in my personal education of 80s and 90s Joshi, still catching up.
  10. I know it has been a dead sub-forum for awhile, just wanted to make sure that Joshi fans saw that I am uploading older Joshi matches in the Matches folder. Hope to have a new match at least every two or three days, trying to find bigger matches that aren't currently uploaded on Youtube or DM.
  11. Tomoko Watanabe and Kumiko Maekawa vs. Etsuko Mita and Mima Shimoda in AJW on 3/4/00 Cage match! In AJW cage matches, you can't win by going out the door or pinfall/submission, a team only wins after both teammates have reached the floor by climbing over the cage. A wrestler that gets out of the cage can go back in if their teammate needs help, but then they have to leave the cage again to win.
  12. Closest I can think of is the Gears of War series, it is third person shooter of course but it does have Horde Mode so you can kill endless things. So it meets 73% of your criteria.
  13. Viper got mixed reviews, she is clearly trained/competent but she works soft which is pretty noticeable at a place like Stardom where people hit hard. I wouldn't say she was bad, just not as good as I think people were hoping.
  14. I'm in the same boat, I've only seen Kay Lee Ray (well and Ivelisse but only in heavily edited LU). Just after some of the ones they had in this year I am trending more towards being pessimistic than optimistic, they seem to really like having a lot of foreign wrestlers and I am not sure why. Maybe they think it makes them look more big league but it can't be cheap, promotions bigger than Stardom years ago stopped using as many foreigners as the cost of flying them in didn't really lead to any additional profits.
  15. That scares me since I don't really trust Stardom's talent evaluator when it comes to foreigners (I love Kay Lee Ray of course). But they don't have enough of their own contracted talent to fill a tournament and for whatever reason prefer flying in freelancers then using ones in Japan. So it is what is it, just hope for the best.
  16. I think we will see more and more movies doing what many have already done and bailing on trying to compete in the summer. I always thought being a 'summer movie' was a bit over-rated, sure school is out but people are also on vacations and kids go to the movies year-round. Why not open in November with no competition and not July against (or right after) the legitimate summer movies like Dory, anything comic-related, etc. BFG was destined to fail. Movies are $12 a pop now in a lot of places, most families can't afford to spend $50 to go see movies multiple times in one month.
  17. So the person that lives above me's toilet has apparently been slowly leaking for months but I didn't notice since it was just making a mark on the ceiling in my master closet that I rarely use. Anyway finally noticed when it started dripping onto the floor (not ideal), told him, at first he was in denial that it was his fault but came to his senses when the plumber told him. So he paid the plumber, and the plumber also kindly took out all the wet and moldy drywall from my ceiling (about two feet by one foot). This is going here because now I have to go back to the neighbor about repairing the ceiling. Probably. I am a really chill person and I am just glad that the leak is fixed, but I really don't want to shell out a couple hundred to fix the ceiling myself. But my neighbor is retired, on a fixed income, and so far as made no effort to contact me about my ceiling even though he knows about it. So my options are going to an old man and saying "Hey, uh fix my ceiling please?" or being glad the leak is fixed and getting someone to fix the ceiling myself. I know of course its his responsibility, its more a matter of if I care enough to go after him for it under the circumstances. But I have a few days to figure it out since the plumber recommended I not patch it for a week to get it all dried out. So I have a fan in there making sure everything is nice and dry.
  18. This is not a forgotten match but it is a Classic that I don't think is currently online anywhere. Manami Toyota vs. Kyoko Inoue in AJW on 5/7/95 This match won the Wrestling Observer 1995 Match of the Year, with much controversy in hindsight. It got trashed pretty good over at PWO, but you have to admire their stamina and having a match with an 'epic' feel.
  19. Since it was verified, I assumed it was someone authorized to do it for him. I didn't think a 70+ year old himself was tweeting since the tweets were too clean but that didn't mean it wasn't a family member or a manager doing it with his permission.
  20. Yea that is legit. I have motion sickness to the point I can't really read in cars or ride coasters (well I still do and just take the negative effects), and just in his video my brain already started looking at me funny. And that isn't playing it on a 55 inch TV. It only takes the slightest rapid movements. I don't think he is saying the game should be erased from the Earth, just explaining why he couldn't play it which is completely justified.
  21. Is this assuming he doesn't get injured and gets 100% of his current contract? On this list he still has a lot of people in front of him, still has a ways to go to catch Eli. Brady must feel deflated to be behind the QB that cost him two rings. Not saying he won't make the most, I guess that list only does literally what they have earned and isn't factoring in future guaranteed money.
  22. Hair vs. Hair - Akira Hokuto vs. Rumi Kazama in LLPW on 11/9/93 Low VQ but a good match and any Hair vs. Hair match I think should be somewhere online just for the emotion of them.
  23. They may just wait until the draft at this point, give him a few more weeks off.
  24. Yea that is why I am not signing back up til August, just on principle. I still had two weeks left on my sub, no reason to immediately yank off content. I mean I would have a legit reason to challenge the charge but naturally I am not doing that for $5, but it still isn't great customer service.
  25. I already had this one uploaded but I may as well put it here too! Chigusa Nagayo vs. Dump Matsumoto - Hair vs. Hair in AJW on 8/28/85 You'd be hard pressed to find a match with so much emotion from both the wrestlers and the crowd, pretty amazing and shows just how loved the Crush Gals were.
