  1. I honestly don't know if Yoshiko doing MMA does anything to help SEAdLINNNG, unless she became an investor or they represent her as an official management agency. It may just be she needs the money herself. I dunno what the goal was with SEAdLINNNG but it doesn't appear to be working, as they still only have two official wrestlers and don't do anything 'different' enough to attract fans even running shows every other month. And they went from being on Samurai TV to being on Nico to being possibly off the grid altogether which isn't the ideal path.
  2. I had motion sickness type issues with VR but the headsets are shockingly light. Never had any problems in that regard, they are well designed for weight distribution.
  3. As Twitter has been excited about all day, it was announced that Yoshiko will have her first MMA fight at ROAD FC 36. Its not very far away (February 11th) and she doesn't even have an opponent yet, so I think its a safe assumption this isn't a serious venture for her at the moment. Still interesting, I have no idea if she even does any MMA-style training or this is just a cash grab like Hotta at RIZIN.
  4. Yea a total of seven Bills have been invited. Can we stop pretending the Pro Bowl means something? By 'we' I mean the NFL, I know the fans and players stopped caring years ago.
  5. I'll never complain about a free Star Wars game. Even a seven year old one. How is that still $20 in their online shop.
  6. The comedy in Tokyo Joshi Pro is 'bad indie wrestling' but they have some decent wrestlers, at least in terms of general entertainment. When a combination of Yamashita/Nakajima/Sakazaki are wrestling each other its pretty solid, I wouldn't mind any of those three getting more experience elsewhere so I can get a better feel of how good they are.
  7. I am surprised people are signing up now since you'll only get eight free days and not all content has been uploaded/only one live this month. Instead of waiting til Feb 1st when you'd get a full month for free plus three live shows. Everyone has to be first
  8. So via Twitter we got an accidental peek at the UI. Besides it looking pretty sleek, nothing really special, although its promising the developer is bringing over two more games as it furthers my theory that the Switch is much easier to port for since its strong enough to handle just about any current game out (unlike five year old handhelds) and doesn't have really weird ass controls required. Should lead to a lot more games being released than the Wii U, not all will be winners but options are always good. The fourth game on the right is apparently the logo for Hydra Castle Labyrinth.
  9. I'm so one track minded, all I keep thinking watching this game is "I know Atlanta can beat the Pats if they play like this...."
  10. I am surprised it did so well but its completely not my type of movie, so I may have been out of the loop in regards to reviews/word of mouth.
  11. The Stardom show was actually better than I was expecting, normally their triple threat matches are kinda throwaways but I thought both had solid stories this time. Really liked Kyona attacking Momo at times that weren't expected considering who their opponent was, just to further show they really don't like each other. But in general I thought the January shows were better than the average Stardom show simply because they had better wrestlers involved. Konami/KLR/Newell/Viper is probably the best collective group of Freelancers they'd had on one tour in awhile, and it just helped up and down the card. Year End Climax was still the better show but I wasn't disappointed by the Anniversary event.
  12. I agree with you in general as I am sure they are doing the 'wait and see' approach which is why more hasn't been announced, I just wonder what publisher's 'number' is for sold consoles before its worth porting. Since the Switch apparently isn't as hard to port over for as the Wii and Wii U since it supports Unreal Engine 4/similar engines, in theory it wouldn't require as many units sold for it to be worth the trouble of porting. And how long do they wait, as I don't think we will know for sure about the Switch's success until the holiday with Mario coming out and probably Black Friday bundles. Unfortunately after having two oddball systems in regards to functionality, most companies are just waiting to see what happens, creating that loop of consoles potentially not being sold due to catalog -> publisher's not making games due to consoles sold -> etc. I would think they would have already had to decide for Madden one way or the other since it comes out five months after launch, which doesn't bode well for it this year.
  13. Not sure the proper thread for this, but just wanted to make sure people knew that Nioh is having a final 'demo' available for the weekend. Extended from previous demos, and if you beat it then you get DLC to keep for the main game when it comes out.
  14. Any predictions for Sonnen/Ortiz? I have absolutely no idea what to expect. My gut says Sonnen just holds Ortiz down for three rounds and wins but I mean really anything can happen.
  15. Probably the last... big announcement they could make in the next five weeks is about the Virtual Console. It could either be really good (more games, not starting from scratch, tying accounts together, and of course allowing for SNES/Wii games to be played on the road), or really bad (starting all over, still not tied to previous accounts, just a couple random games a week). Naturally The Internet is assuming the 'bad' which is understandable considering the VC has never been good. And I can't decide if the fact they have been so tight lipped about it is a good thing or a bad thing. Either they aren't saying anything because they know it will piss off everyone, or they aren't saying anything because they plan on having a Nintendo Direct about it to try to excite people before launch.
  16. If you mean it is obvious that I can't bring my PS4 or XBox One to work but I can bring my Switch to work, then I guess it is The Switch has a different function for me than the other systems, I don't expect Nintendo to get some of the big third party games so I'll still get those on PS4/One. But any AAA title I want to play that comes out on all three, I'll likely get it on the Switch for its dual capabilities.
  17. The only problem with articles like those is 1. most are completely optional and 2. most of those aren't "hidden" costs. I don't think having to buy games and an extra controller is a "hidden" cost, I think anyone that has ever purchased a video game console is aware that they have to spend money to play games and have to spend money on a second controller. Spending $150 on extra controllers is certainly optional and certainly not hidden. The only thing on that list I am buying that could be seen as a 'hidden cost' is the charging grip. Other than that, I am just spending money on games. Speaking of which, I did a quick count and it looks like seven games are coming out this year I will either buy or be tempted to buy and have to talk myself out of: Zelda, Binding of Isaac, Mario Kart, Disgaea 5, Sonic Mania, Mario, and Xenoblade 2. As someone that already owns a PS4 and XBox One, no complaints from me yet. But 2018 needs to have either a release or an announcement for Metroid/Brawl/Pokemon game to keep the ball rolling.
  18. Since The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ randomly got announced as a Launch title, I guess I am going to finally dive into it. I've heard it recommended as a quality game for a long time but never got around to trying it out, seems as good a time as any. Although judging from Steam reviews it will have a nice sized Day 1 patch, which doesn't matter since I am playing the hell out of Zelda first anyway. Reggie in one of God knows how many interviews he is doing dropping a teaser about possibly doing Mother 3 and/or Metroid for the Switch is really really mean if then nothing is announced one way or the other for a year. Nintendo being unwilling to capitalize on their own valuable IPs is one of the more mind boggling things about them, and that says a lot. People would lose their shit for a good Metroid game and they know it.
  19. I finally got around to seeing it with my mom. What struck me, because I was with her, is if they really did 'dumb it down' from being intense like the rumors said then I'd love to see what it was before, as it was certainly the most intense Star Wars movie. I am immune to such things, but my mother is not. She's a bit sensitive, like she couldn't watch the war scenes in Forrest Gump and didn't get through Dark Knight Rises type of sensitive. Anyway, she made it through Star Wars but had to close her eyes during some of the dying scenes. The lack of blood helps but the beach scenes in particular I think reminded her of war movies. I also had to chuckle as people were complaining about time-issues, but didn't mention the worst one of all - how exactly did Jyn get to the bottom of the basin and back up to see her father in about 20 minutes. It didn't bother me personally, but I've been mountain climbing and if you can see the peak from the ground, it still takes hours to get there, and I've never climbed a 1,000 rung ladder before but I can imagine it sucks. Normal action movie stuff of course, but more noticeable than people escaping a city that is about to be blown up when shit was already going down.
  20. Its funny, as much as I like the "Free Game" concept and usually DL them, I virtually never play them. I have enough of a backlog of games I picked out/paid for to play, and most of the free games (I have both consoles) are just middling to me. Like if I had literally no games to play, I'd play them, but on the priority scale they are really low.
  21. I thought that Sendai Girls' on 1/9 was really good as a complete show. MOTYC seekers can skip it, nothing reached that level, but nothing was below average and I particularly enjoyed Cassandra Miyagi vs. Hikaru Shida. Aja Kong vs. Chihiro Hashimoto felt a bit flat, it took awhile to get going and never 'felt' like a big championship match, but it wasn't bad either.
  22. People getting mad at comedians for making inappropriate jokes is very 2017. Good thing George Carlin and Richard Pryor aren't still around, y'all have hated them.
  23. Depends on the frequency of Tokyo Joshi Pro, what I'll probably do is sign up every three months or so to catch up, then cancel it for a few more months.
