  1. Yeah, supposedly he was plowing his driveway with.a Sno-Cat, somehow ended up outside the cab, and the Sno-Cat ran him over. There are several different Sno-Cat models but they are all about the size and weight of a bulldozer. One my neighbors owns a Sno-Cat which I’ve driven a couple times. I think they have safety features to prevent driverless accidents, so still not sure what happened to Renner. A couple reports say a doctor neighbor ran out and bandaged his legs so Renner didn’t bleed to death in the snow before help arrived.
  2. I bought very little in 2022 aside from the usual suspects (Elden Ring, HFW, Bayonetta, Ragnarok a few others), so I feel like 2023 is going to be the year that crushes my wallet. First half of the year already looks packed and some people are predicting it’s the kind of year we wanted from 2022 and didn’t get. Already probably got six day one purchases in January alone (3 new games + Persona 3, 4 remasters and Monster Hunter Rise port). Also heard that Xbox ports of Solar Ash and The Pathless will drop in Jan, though no official confirmation.
  3. There’s not much chance I’ll ever watch Cocaine Bear, but I did watch the trailer and came away with a favorable impression. It looks campy and low-budget, but the trailer gives the impression the writers know it’s campy and ridiculous and lean into that. The bit where the bear chases down a speeding van and leaps into the back of the vehicle - complete with Matrix-style slo-mo - had me rolling.
  4. So the loser of the match has to keep him?
  5. He’s a good announcer so I’m hoping he just gets a slap on the wrist and a short vacation.
  6. I definitely bo-lieved that it was time to turn the channel. Does that count?
  7. For at least the past several years, the board has let you change your name every 180 days, so you could theoretically have three user names in one year (365 days). if we’re taking a poll, I’m for letting people change user names at least once every six months. Or whenever they feel like it. Can’t see what business it works be of mine or any other user.
  8. No, see it’s ok. The Raiders explained that they met with Carr and mutually decided that, in order not to be a distraction, it would be best for Carr to go home for the rest of the year. So, to recap, media and fans are going to talk about the story if you bench your starting qb. Not going to talk about the story if your starting qb takes his ball and goes home with a few weeks left in the season (lol, that wasn’t meant to be a pun, but, since it is, I’m leaving it in). I’m glad the team clarified for me. That isn’t the way I think these things work. I think sending your qb home with games to play pretty much guarantees that your qb situation is going to be the story every day until the end of this nightmare season. My favorite new rumor is that Las Vegas is now the front runner in the Tom Brady sweepstakes.
  9. Listening to Meltzer now and Dave claims he signed for “NXT money”, not main roster money. Dave thinks Lee’s ceiling is lower than you’d think. Generally skeptical that he’ll get much of a chance in WWE. Too many factors against him, including not being fluent in English. AEW was interested in him, but apparently not enough to offer him good money. Dave’s attitude is that AEW already has their guys and Lee isn’t that unique when you have Fenix, Pentagon, Bandido on the roster.
  10. Christmas was exhausting, but went well considering. I had chemo Tuesday so it was hitting me pretty hard over the weekend. Really just wanted to crawl into bed and sleep all day. Everything was exhausting. Instead, I went to church, played games with my family, opened presents, went to the in-laws, had my dad and siblings over, etc. Probably dumb to push myself that hard, but I dunno how many more Christmases I get. Probably not enough. Sleep when you’re dead. Feel somewhat better yesterday and today. Planning to go back to the office tomorrow. Got two weeks before round 3, so somewhat hopeful I can pull myself together and be productive next week and a half. Probably need to find new oncologist. I didn’t pick this one. She inherited me five or so years ago when my oncologist left the hospital. By then, I was in remission and only needing six month scans, so she was fine. She’s fine medically, but she’s surprisingly young and full of millennial attitudes that I could do without. Last straw was when my wife called to get a prescription for nausea and doc suggested medical marijuana. When we balked, she confided to us that she likes edibles. She also showed us a few of her tats during an office visit. I think she’s trying to make us comfortable with her, but it’s having the opposite effect. Once chemo is over, I’m looking for a nice 60-ish oncologist who thinks pot smokers are doing the work of the Devil.
  11. Oh, I definitely think there will at least a short line of teams lining up for Brady. I think there will be a few teams that you wouldn’t expect to have interest in Brady. He’ll be able to convince at least a few owners and gm’s that, with a better cast around him and a year to get his head right, he’’ll be able to reboot himself most year. I’m not convinced he’s wrong about that. I keep hearing the rumor that he’ll go back to New England. I don’t believe that for a second, but it’d be fascinating to watch, especially if they managed to win and made it look like Belichick can’t win without him.
  12. I mean, it’s December 26. If worse comes to worse, they can just take him to the customer service counter at Walmart, say he was a Christmas gift and they don’t have the receipt, and they’ll get their money back, no questions asked. When I got married, we got a toasterwe couldn’t use. So I spent a Saturday driving around till I found a store that carried that same model and talked them into letting me return it without a receipt. It’s the same thing.
  13. It seems like anger turned to apathy pretty quickly. A “Welcome Home” rally for Griner in Waco apparently drew about 20 people. I figured she’d get 15 min of fame and a talk show tour but maybe not. At least Biden now claims they are going to focus on getting Paul Whelan home, but I’m not expecting much.
  14. Lol, while was reading this, Brady threw another interception.
  15. It seems like Vice was going after the casual audience that didn’t watch the Dark Side eps and isn’t all that familiar with Vince. Apparently, they didn’t get it.
  16. Eh, thought Dom’s performance was nicely restrained while Rhea chewed every bit of scenery in sight. I seldom find WWE comedy amusing, but this has several lol moment. Dom exclaiming “Mommy slapped Mami!” had me rolling. Missed opportunity not to have Rey dressed in festive Christmas colors. Maybe he’d look too much like an elf. I was amused at how nonchalant the police were about taking the word of a dude wearing a mask in his own house.
  17. I was hoping he’d take it and bury it in the backyard, never to be seen again.
  18. I had to Google Rick Ross to figure out who he is (not into the music biz and listen to zero rap) so I was mostly just confused by the Swerve-Lee segment. I wasn’t even sure Ross had turned heel on Lee until he held up the shirt at the end.
  19. Punk has a reputation as a generally unhappy person. He has a history of thinking he should be pushed more than he is and convincing himself the grass would be greener elsewhere. A lot of his unhappiness in WWE had to do with his perceived ceiling and the fact he was never going to be “the guy” so long as Cena was around. I mean, there’s really nothing wrong with being in the second biggest match at WM, but not enough for Punk. He probably had issues with Hangman, but his problems in AEW seem to have a lot more to do with old grudges and dismissing the evp’s as nobodies who had never been anywhere. It seems quite possible Punk was going to eventually become alienated and unhappy regardless of Page, Cabana, or anyone else.
  20. Meltzer made a comment a few days ago that WWE is moving tickets consistently until the day of shows and even does strong walk-up business on the day of the event. AEW, by contrast, moves their tickets when they first go on sale, then ticket sales slow to a crawl.
  21. I thought Briggs was a big, beefy Ray Traylor type when he was brought in. Did he lose a lot of weight or am I just wrong?
  22. Only saw the ladder match and did I hate that. Match was probably ok, but the crowd didn’t care a bit (I don’t blame them) until they started using the ladders to take stupid bumps. I am well past the age where I enjoy these sorts of matches. I mostly cringe when guys take bumps from the top of the ladder to the ropes, or, worse, clear the ropes and take a bump to the floor. Like Bruce Willis and Danny Glover, I am too old for this shit. Reminded me of the indie shows went to 20 years ago where the solution to crowd apathy was to up start trying to cripple each other with poorly-planned high spots.
  23. I really want to know what Meyers thought Mac Jones was going to do with the ball 55 yards from the end zone. Mac Jones failing miserably to tackle Cameron Jones but then nearly tripping him as C. jones trampled him makes me laugh more than it should.
