  1. N-1 Victory from 9/23/20 will be on Fight Network next Thursday, the 29th.
  2. No Strong Zero in the USA. $10 and up to get from Japan on ebay. That is a huge mark up from under $1.50. Sangaria brand 6% Chuhai is the only one available in the US as far as I know. There is one other that is labeled as chuhai, but is actually a flavored malt beverage.
  3. No. They are a sponsor. That was the only alcohol available at New Year Dash. Japanese don't like it too. I brought two beers in to the show in my camera bag. A bunch of people asked me where the beer was being sold, pissed off at the only Zima situation.
  4. It is a hall located in the area known as Tokyo Dome City. Mostly used for music. The Dome, Kourakuen, TDC Hall, the amusement park, and the La Qua shopping mall are all in Tokyo Dome City.
  5. Vince may also just like Haystacks Calhoun, Scufflin Hillbillies, from when he was a kid and think that it works.
  6. Goes by Chikara, the kanji means power and is the Riki of Rikidozan. He tries, but not so good.
  7. I think it was more the Mexicans pissed at Pena because he didn't pay them.
  8. He also wrestled in his IV costume without his mask as jobber Tony Pena in WCW.
  9. HDNet era TV is now on Fight Network as ROH Classics. So now the amount of TNA repeats on Fight Network must be infinity minus one.
  10. Good God. I was at that show and don't remember that match.
  11. Sandman started out as a babyface surfer. Sheik was brought in as a secret weapon by Pat Tanaka in ECW against Kevin Sullivan and Taz. I think that Dusty might have done the same. I also think that he was face at some point in the dying days of Detroit out of desperation.
  12. 50% of capacity with a cap at 20,000. Will be examined in November for adjustment.
  13. The match should have ended with Hardy smashing his head on the concrete. I've always felt that the old time reaction of ignoring injuries and continuing the match was opposite of the old time kayfabe. When someone gets injured, they should not hide it. They should sell it and finish the match to show that wrestling is real and they can get hurt at any time.
  14. Marvel had and might still have an agreement that they got a cut of all Hulk Hogan merch. Whoever came up with Hollywood Hogan saved much money in royalties.
  15. The match time was 2 hours 5 minutes 14 seconds. The VHS shows the entire match plus arrivals by boat. Inoki did not come out of his tent/locker room for about the first hour of the match. Whatever was shown on TV had to be edited, of course. The VHS actually has a Fuji TV logo on it, but no mention of Asahi TV. It was just a lot of laying around in holds. Not cinematic to me.
  16. It's a shame that a guy named Soma is too young to have been in ECW.
  17. 10/1 is the day after the recently extended guidelines for attendance end. Also it is at an outdoor venue. My guess is that they will sell all of the seats. The tickets have been split up between the companies. Marvelous has already sold out. Others have sold out of the most expensive tickets so far. Being Japanese wrestling, the announcement of this cooperation also includes the announcement of Hotta's new promotion, T-HEARTS. There seems to be such a need for another company with like 3 wrestlers.
  18. 3 PM tomorrow in Japan Marvelous youtube and others will stream some new news for the future of women's wrestling. Marvelous, Sendai, OZ, Pure J, Chigusa, Hotta, and Hokuto are involved.
  19. There were times when the title change took place in multiple cities during the week before the TV. They never showed the clips so each town's fans thought that they saw the title change.
  20. The scorpion being kept in the Big Japan merch store just had babies.
  21. Today's NBA Playoff quadruple header has started on TNT. Special Saturday Dynamite commercials and even an in game promo for it have aired.
  22. I just remember seeing Jumping Joe Savoldi win the Jr. title from Tazmaniac at least 20 times on TV, but that was ICW. Loved seeing King Curtis in that video. Him screaming is one of my favorite things in wrestling.
  23. Randy Orton spends more time posing for the cameras than the Stardom girls at Shin-Kiba.
  24. Rental of Korakuen runs from 600,000 to 980,000 yen plus 100 yen rental per folding chair. However there is a disclaimer stating to contact them for pricing for wrestling/kakutogi pricing. https://www.tokyo-dome.co.jp/hall/organizer/hall.html?tabChange=price Just don't make the mistake of putting the new facility in Odaiba.
