Read the first issue of the Rise of Kylo Ren. Solid enough start dealing with Ben just after the destruction of the Jedi temple where Luke was training him and others. Looks liek we will be getting to see more of his and Snoke's relationship. First two issues of Star Wars were solid-good. It was nice seeing an immediate follow up to Empire with Luke dealing with the knowledge of Vader as his father, the rebels torn and spread out, and how they dealt with Lando when the betrayal was still so fresh. Lando feels so on point so its pretty fun fun reading him. Finally finished the last issue of Aaron's Thor run with King Thor #4. That was an excellent conclusion to a wonderful run. Also ended up reading the first two issue of Cate's Thor run. The cosmic aspect could be interesting. I also like the slight tie in to Aaron's run with Galactus having likely seen his death to King Thor millions of years later. Overall its solid so far though nothing ground breaking. Aaron is going to be hard one to follow so I'm mostly just hoping Cates can provide something decently entertaining which has done well enough so far..

Its not a case of everything is fine so much as the sky isn't quite falling as much as some have a bad tendency to pretend/want. We have someone talking about the Fiend more or less being dead as a name when his challenge to Cena tonight got the massive cheers from the entire audience. That same thing happened when Rollins beat the Fiend last year only for the Fiend to continue to be a solid success . There is plenty wrong, but not every decision people dislike is the end of the world.

Because Wrestlemania is the biggest show of the year and people usually have had to earn their title shots for it. Beyond that I'm not sure they can really keep any sort of interesting build going just between Reigns and Goldberg unless they actually let one go heel and be a complete asshole on the mic. How many wins does Roman actually have? Doesn't actually feel like he built any sort of strong record the past six months, especially with so much of that being spent wrestling Corbin and co.
-
Goldberg/Roman got the reaction i expected. Kind of annoyed they skipped any pretense or build and are just goign straight into it. Roman should have to earn his title shot at WM like they normally do. Giving the Chamber match to the tag division feels random. Not super fond of it with only around four teams really feuding at the moment. Usos vs. Miz & Morrison was nice. Dug Kofi/Roode. Naomi/Lacey vs. Sasaha/Bayley was fun. I'm digging Gulak building up jobbers to take on Bryan. I'm curious if thy actually get a match at WM or if this just something to kill time for Bryan until then. I just hope the eventual match gets some decent time. The end with Cena and the Fiend was good. I like the idea of Cena trying to bow out gracefully and not steal a full timer's chance only for the Fiend to show up and basically demand the match. The reaction that ending got was massive. It definitely feels like the biggest match heading into Mania this year.

Eh it dropped yesterday. I'm 6 episodes in.

The Warlock stuff is annoying and unsurprising. There has been a weird bias there for years now though so I'm not shocked. Shoulder charge being nerfed a bit does not feel like bs to me. Both Warlocks and Titans have fairly overpowered melee. I have probably been killed by Hunter melee abilities less than a dozen times compared the dozens of times I've died to Titan and Warlock melee abilities. Since I don't play the classes I'm not really sure where they need real improvements on, but I suspect much of the stuff they do for them as far buffs go really should have only been applied in PvE content.

No idea. Maybe its easier on the knees to not do press slams. Honestly the other stff he does makes him stand out pretty well so I think its fine its not one he uses. I say give it to someone who needs it more. Oh, I remember now who does or used to do press slams, Apollo Crews. He uses/used a press slam standing moonsault combo. We just forget because the poor bastard is so rarely on tv and so rarely wins when he is.

Lifer will be on commentary for Stardom's No People GATE on 3/8.
-
I think Bianca Belair does them on occasion but not regularly. Otherwise no.
-
I dug the episode, but yeah I'm going to be so pissed if they don't survive.

I don't think Goldberg is a great choice, but I don't think he is such a terrible one either. I think any of the other other 100+ guys would have likely suffered for the win opposed to it actually raising their stock. I also wasn't saying there wasn't a better choice per say. I was legit just curious what people would have preferred to see.
-
I've actually skipped all of them but the first. I just read results on wiki or elsewhere.

You realize I'm talking from a strictly in ring perspective right? I haven't heard praise for his work there in years, and I'm not just talking about from DVDVR. Honestly, I'm generally ok with Bray's work. I actually have enjoyed the stuff with the Fiend. I just think its weird to claim people were speaking so highly of his work before the Fiend because I remember many being down on him then. They seemed to like the character, not his actual matches.
-
Its a case of different type of spectacles. People have certain expectations from each one. Neither translate to great matches per say, but Godlberg's style works just a little better towards title matches, especially with his history. As to why Goldberg/Reigns only makes sense for the title. The two have absolutely no beef with each other of whatsoever. You basically have make one look like an asshole to be going out of the way to start shit with other at this point. If they were willing to play a legit heel/face dynamic it would be fine, but with them likely wanting both guys to stay face a title on the line makes things easier.
-
Except we already have seen Bray wrestled w/o the match and he is still a weird crazy with a bit of monster in him. Honestly, they have yet to give him an actual weakness.
-
I'm legit curious what people here would have done because I don't think there was a great choice either way. Goldberg/Roman is w/o question the bigger and more interesting match if they go that route, but it also only makes sense with a title on the line. Fiend/Cena (also a much bigger match) doesn't need the title at all, and the Fiend character isn't evolved enough to translate to what people really want out of a title match yet anyways. The mistake of course was Bray winning the belt in the first place, but we were well past that point. There basically was no a good choice for anyone actually beating Bray. His character while interesting isn't one where beating him would give a legit rub with how current audience views such characters. Anyone who actually beat him was likely going to just get booed and not in a good way. At least with Goldberg, Bray is losing to a major star and someone who isn't a full time investment that can be actively hurt by the win. You could keep going with Bray as champ, but that will just keep anyone else under him from really doing much since they either can't aim for the biggest prize or likely look like chumps losing to him. As far as merch sales goes, those will likely continue to sell as long as Bray isn't made to look like shit. Bray was widely disliked as worker by many even before the Fiend stuff. Many of his matches from before, bs or otherwise, were just not that standout, especially in terms of Bray's performances in them. Honestly what they are doing with the Fiend is pretty basic movie monster stuff they had Taker and Kane do early into their gimmicks. Its overdone to a degree, but they are trying to sell the Fiend's matches more as spectacles. if Bray just wrestled like he did before the gimmick would have died already.
-
So how would yo have ended the Fiend's reign?
-
Both of these are wildly more interesting than the Fiend/Roman match which could easily happen post Wrestlemania anyways. As much as I want the Fiend to stay champ until Wrestlemania he pretty much has to lose the belt to make this happen. Goldberg/Roman doesn't make much sense without the title in play. Cena was one of Bray's biggest failures, and the Fiend is known to gettign revenge on those who wrong Bray so there is no real need for the belt involved though I hope I'm wrong if it happens.

Yeah after next month my Destiny 2 playtime will be a lot smaller since Wastelanders for FO76 and the FFVII Remake will both be out in April. I'll try to keep up with any non-Trials seasonal stuff, but I imagine I will have some trouble pulling away from the other games for too long.

Dijakovic/Grimes was solid. Glad Priest interfered. We don't need another Lee/Dijakovic match any time soon and priest should be a nice mini-feud for Dijakovic. Was right about Finn/WALTER and I'm looking forward to it. Hope WALTER retains when it happens. Xia/Mia was kind of a nothing until the Kai/Raquel interference. I like Kai going after Mia and hope she does the same to Candice. Kai should go after every one of her partners who wronged her until until she faces off with Rhea in the Summer. Dug the powerbomb Raquel did to Yim. Reminds of one Kensuke used to do. Wasn't all there the first half of Ciampa/Theory, but I liked the second half well enough. Dream/Strong in a cage next week doesn't do too much for me. I assume its mainly an excuse to have Dream dive off the top onto all of UE. GYV vs. Forgotten Sons was good. I like that Full Sail caught on to the assface chants with Drake. Charlotte and Bianca were a little off with each other few times, but otherwise this was pretty good. The post match ending felt off. I wonder if Rhea came out a little early.
-
I assume Theory gets a nice showing before losing to Ciampa or Johnny shows up to fuck Ciampa over again. Finn pretty much has to be either throwing out a challenge to WALTER or to Cole. Hope Grimes sneaks past Dijakovic. Charlotte/Bianca needs to be the main event. Hopefully it ends up great.
-
That is definitely interesting to say the least. Kind of wondering if I should just say fuck it and try to catch up with back issues or just wait out for the library and trades. I only just read the 1st issue of X-men last weekend. I worry mainly because it seems like so much is going on with other books as well.

That is kind of evil but smart, especially with seasons being the price they are now.

I kind of dug Batwoman dealing with the fallout of Kate's choice between Beth and Alice. Instead of Alice just going on a warpath she is actually hurt and kind of torn realizing that she can't just win Kate over to her side. Its the first time its really hitting her. Mary finally doing the math and realizing Kate is Batwoman was neat. The big moment at the end with Sophie and Kate did nothing for me. I just don't like the Sophie character and am bias in wanting to see Montoya show up. Honestly it reminds me that the whole deal with the Crows is kind of annoying in general. Even as bad as Gotham is I can't see a para-military organization being allowed to operate on that level in the US. I really do hope they are smart and drop that aspect of the show by the end of the season. The Mxy episode of Supergirl was super fun. Thomas Lennon was way better than the last guy, and I like the idea in general that Mxy isn't bound to just one actor. I still hope one day we get Gilbert Gottfried doing the role live. His voice is still the one in my head when I read him in comics. The end with Lena and Kara was great. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. What I liked about this is the various paths we see Lena end up in depending on how things go. Pretty much nothing ever went perfectly and it really did emphasize that Lena has to be the one to choose her path and Kara can't really be blamed for the consequences. Black Lightning was nice with them seemingly finishing up Painkiller's story for the season and revealing Gravedigger's background. The Flash was interesting with more of Crisis changes being acknowledged. Kind of like that Grodd's mind survived Crisis. The idea of everything and his time in prison actually changing him is interesting. Wouldn't mind it actually sticking. The hint to Thawne's return was neat though I of wish it was in his Letscher form. Kind of curious what changed for Thawne with Crisis. Perhaps his ultimate defeat in Legends has been nullified. Will be nice to see Wally back. Legends was another fun episode. Was good to see Charlie get some focus, and I like the idea of her and Behrad as an item.

Trials will be part of the free content though I have no idea why seeing that poor bastards playing for free will never be able to match decently against those who have been paying for seasons and keep their LL up. This is exactly what i want for Factions.
