  1. And to give the other NY rag equal time The Daily News is saying that MLB is going to offer A-Rod the deal of being suspended the rest of this year and all of 2014. If he refuses - he is banned for life.
  2. Boy did I forget how worthless Pinnacle Station is. I really should just pick a 2nd weapon type beside sniper rifles and stick with that. I need something for those close combat areas (the stupid ships and hidden bunkers, etc...). I wasn't thinking when I first started building and I spread myself a little too thin just randomly throwing stuff in Pistols and Assault Rifles. Oh EDI - if only you had become self aware earlier
  3. The Tigers acquired reliever Jose Veras from the Astros, tweets Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. The Astros received outfielder Danry Vasquez and a player to be named later, tweets Brian McTaggart of the Houston Chronicle. The PTBNL will be decided on or before September 15th. Veras, 32, has successfully served as the Astros' closer this year after signing a one-year, $2MM free agent deal in December. In a big benefit to his trade value, Veras' contract includes a $3.25MM club option for 2014. "We are pleased to add an experienced arm to our bullpen," Tigers' president, CEO, and GM Dave Dombrowski said in a statement. "Jose can pitch in a variety of roles, provides depth in the bullpen, and complements the roles ofJoaquin Benoit and Drew Smyly." Veras has a 2.93 ERA, 9.2 K/9, 2.9 BB/9, 0.84 HR/9, and 45.3% groundball rate in 43 innings this year. He's always thrown hard and racked up strikeouts, but this year he's been able to trim his walk rate significantly.
  4. Team Who Have Already Qualified Brazil (Host) Japan Australia Iran South Korea Next date of Qualifiers is Sept 6 Well except for the random Northern Ireland vs. Russia match in August that is the makeup for the match postponed in March due to snow.
  5. It's Sunday, August 4 Obviously there is a little flex time around that since obviously I have to enter ballots, do corrections, etc... and I always give people who say they are working on it to finish. But we are talking days... not moving back another month
  6. I am not creating all the pimping threads again so just use this for any last minute discussion, etc.. I also remind folks of things like documentaries and TV movies and such If you have any questions about eligibility, let me know.
  7. It's the "without question" part I would argue. But of course - I also put Dick Vermeil ahead of Buddy Ryan It's tough to compare pure numbers because Reid's tenure dwarfed everyone else. Games Coached Reid - 224 Greasy Neale - 111 Vermeil - 101 Ryan - 79 Actually - Neale is probably the right answer but none of us have any clue about the late 40s so I am thinking "Super Bowl Era" But yeah - Vermeil got them to the Super Bowl (their first), won Coach of the Year (like Reid) and could have easily have kept going but instead retired citing "burnout"
  8. Batman & Robin and Lost World are the two worst movies I have ever seen in the theater and I saw those like 3 days apart. It was a dark time That being said - those for me really fall more into the "Make me insanely angry" instead of "worst". I mean I thought they were bad movies but when I think of them I think of how irritated I get. The Funny Games US remake is another one in that camp.
  9. Jets and Dee Milliner agree to deal. It leaves Chance Warmack (drafted 10th by the Titans) as the only unsigned first round pick
  10. This? And if so - what the fuck did I just watch?
  11. Yeah - while no one was looking Despicable Me 2 is going to end up #2 on the Box Office list as it cracked $300 million in its 4 week
  12. This is coming from the New York Post so apply the appropriate amount of salt. Apparently MLB is going to hand down the suspensions this week - and first time offenders are getting offered the following deal "If you don't appeal - you will only get 50 games"
  13. Well there goes any chance I have of sleeping tonight. God Bless Kelvin Anyway... I really love the White Sox being all GIVE US YOUR TOP PROSPECTS FOR JAKE PEAVEY AND WE AIN'T EATING ANY PART OF THE CONTRACT! DEAL WITH IT FUCKERS!!!!
  14. Speaking of Food Network Star... So I happen to put on Bar Rescue today which I never watch but I know some folks who say good things about it. Anyway - who should show up as the Chef consultant dude near the beginning but that Big Daddy guy Aaron McCargo - who won the 4th Season of NFNS And according to Wiki he shows up on multiple Bar Rescue episodes. I just found this weird but I guess he either has some sort of freelance deal with Food Network or since Spike's ratings are so terrible no one cares
  15. Correct - Audition is a 90s film.It was on the original 90s ballot. It slipped through the cracks on the 2000s ballots and Paco was like "TOO LATE NOW!"IMDB has it as 1999 due to it appearing in the Vancouver Film Festival so as per usual - Blame Canada
  16. Well that was a good day Jeter hits a home run Soriano goes 4 for 5 with a home run, including the walk off single And Hideki Matsui retired a Yankee
  17. Jingus made me watch Postal for the movie club Grrr
  18. Fez II cancelled and for... strange... reasons
  19. I am trying to get them from Hollinger who said he thought he had them - once I do, I will repost it
  20. Oh this is fun. Apparently the Soriano deal was made by the Steinbrenner Brothers over Brian Cashman's objections
