  1. If they can get a crossover with SNK and dress up as Kyoshiro from Samurai Shodown I'll be all for it. Given Asuka's past as a game reviewer in Japan, it wouldn't be out of nowhere.
  2. I think we might see a lot of bars show the events now. Wrestling fans might go out to a bar to watch the PPV if one shows it.
  3. That conditioning is called capitalism. We expect a certain value for our money. If AEW can't compete because they can't make enough money to cover their costs, they won't succeed. They have to make it worth our money ,but they also have to get enough money. It's tough.
  4. $50 for a PPV just isn't going to work when you've got $9-10 a month for NJPW World and WWE. I got a feeling the good ship reddit is going to do excellent business though. For AEW to succeed, they're going to have to get an AEW network and fast. I don't know how they're going to do this though.
  5. Where are the streams for this? And not just the good ship reddit streams- but like legal ones?
  6. I'm really enjoying DOUKI. It's like a LU gimmick thrown into BOSJ. I hope he gets to come to the roster full-time, perhaps as part of a Suzuki/Sabre split/feud. Also SHO is on the path to having a better BOSJ and Ishii had in last year's G1. Two absolute bangers, and they had a really tough act to follow after Marty/Ishimori. I'd say tonight's show was better than any of the G1 shows last year.
  7. Kitamura started a youtube channel.
  8. It's a shame about Woods. I think he's pretty good based on seeing him in person two years ago against Severn. I go for that style of match though.
  9. Side note on that: SHO last night had a new NJPW x Tekken crossover shirt, with Kuma for some reason! (Kuma did win last year's TWT finals, so maybe that's why) Been kinda afraid to go online with Tekken recently.
  10. They've implied that he's a Suzuki-Gun hired gun (even had Taichi introduce him) . SZKG is always a welcoming home for sleazy juniors, and it's been a while since we've gotten some new SZKG members.
  11. How long is Brody's contract? I could see Brody following Marty at some point whereever he heads.
  12. I expect the streaming price to be $30 max. If it's not, I suspect they won't sell that much.
  13. DOUKI is apparently a guy in K-Dojo.
  14. Contra Unit (MLW) did a modern-day squash with Cornette on commentary recently. Cornette is the best squash match commentator in history and you could tell for one small moment, he was truly happy.
  15. Twitter has a contract for streaming with one of the sports leagues in the US- and Facebook streamed some MLS last year.
  16. Remember doing the same- remember loving El Zorro and Evans/Teddy Hart, and then Wagner at the end.
  17. I think some of it is the fans are kinda hurt that Kenny isn't with NJPW anymore, and they kinda want ROH to fail so bad that NJPW works with AEW so they can have Kenny back some. Kenny's story is unfinished, and I think folks are afraid it will never truly finish now. Kenny got one of the biggest pops when they showed him during the former champions montage, and he wasn't even on the show.
  18. From what I've seen and heard they're not. Seem pretty average.
  19. If they're smart they'd keep it short. Every now and then you do need a short title match just to show you can have a short title match. It's either that or have some crazy levels of shenanigans, and Jericho has no logical friends in NJPW outside of Gedo and Jado , and Bullet Club makes zero sense for Jericho because of Jay White.
  20. Taichi's promo lines , at least the subbed ones, are so good. Taichi came off as so tsundere for Ishii and it was hilarious. I enjoyed EVIL/Ishii and Ishimori/Lee more than I enjoyed Okada/Sanada (that was good too, but not as good). Juice/Fale was very good as well.
  21. They have on the bottom of the page a section for matches from each of those decades.
  22. The guys who get over in 5 minute matches are folks who have really hurt looking stuff- Goldberg-types, Ryback. Some guys do well in longer matches- like Roode/Gable. The Revival could make a living on the Southern indie scene as top guys there $500-$1000/show and light travel
  23. You only have so much TV time- and a midcard act that can get over in 5 mins is more valuable than one that needs 15-20, when you have more wrestlers than TV time. The Revival would be much more valuable on a thinner roster. I don't think the Revival would find much long-term success in AEW. I can't see them really meshing well with the Bucks, Lucha Bros, or Best Friends. They'd get an intiial pop, but it would fade over time. I think they'd do great in NJPW though, but their ceiling would be endless matches with R3K and some other Jr.Tag Team, and even there NJPW has all the gaijin juniors it needs, and I think NJPW is aiming for the non-American English speaking market now. Also, are they really better than Robbie Eagles/El Phantasma, or Despy/Kanemaru?
  24. The Worldwide Underground might be a good heel stable to put against Kenny. I think people want to boo those guys, and Johnny would be consider a threat against Omega. That's the issue with Omega- he's a big enough star compared to everyone else AEW can get that few of them seem like a threat. For someone to be viewed as a threat to Omega, they'd need to be bought as an high-level guy in NJPW, like someone they'd put over Ibushi at a minimum.
