  1. The only recent stuff from either of them I've seen have been the matches they've had on ROH tv (and a little of Kingston's Chikara work). They tended to just brawl in most of what I saw rather than work a more traditional style but they didn't look bad at all. All the reviews of the match suggest it was really bad, which surprises me given the four involved.
  2. Whitmer and Jacobs had some damn fine matches against Strong and Evens a few years back. I'm fine with them teaming again though I'm sure it will eventually lead to one turning on the other and yet another feud.
  3. He's probably been on hold with some company's customer service line for an hour or so and is understandably pissed off about it.
  4. I don't really read comics but watch most comic shows/movies. This show is not that great, reminds me of a Syfy channel midcard show. Eh, it's something though. Does Coulson's status as a zombie/replicant/whatever actually matter? It looks like it's going in that direction but I can't bring myself to care one way or the other. Other than an episode or two of him having an existential crisis about it, is there any point or is his status going to be some MacGuffin for the bad guys to try and capture and reverse engineer? I'm wondering if May and/or Coulson are Skye's parents? Not Eliza Dushku doesn't look like she could pass as half-Asian though so I'm guessing it'll turn out one of the main bad guys is her parent, or she's some kind of clone prototype or some such.
  5. I'm more bummed about Rosevelt's death than Tara's honestly. It was all a matter of time before this happened to Tara but Rosevelt was one of the few decent characters on the show. I got the sense they were having him slowly morph into Unser following the discussion the two of them had earlier in the season and that they might continue that angle. What exactly is left in the next season? Presumably Jax isn't going to jail now. Are they going to pin the murders on Juice or realize it was Gemma? I can see she and Unser collaborating and pinning it on him, or him taking credit for it realizing he's dead anyways. Nero leading the Mayans and the Chinese against the club? More multiple montages in each episode?
  6. The "easiest" answer was that instead of going to WCW when they were grabbing all the guys similiar to him (Jericho, Benoit, Eddy, Malenko), he went to the WWF. Now it is possible he burnt bridges after his first WCW run (or had enough bad memories) and that is why the WWF was more appealing to him. Or maybe a WCW offer never came. Either way - it the WWF was the wrong place for him at that time. According to his shoot he had a big time crack addiction during his Flash Funk run. Seeing his more recent indy work in IWA-MS he adapted to getting older and doing less flying by developing a much stronger ground/striking game. He was also a lot more successful overseas than he was in WWF/WCW which probably kept him away as well.
  7. Other than latter-day DDP has there ever been a wrestler with good teeth?
  8. This needs to feature Vince as Superintendent Chalmers at some point. I can imagine HHH screwing something up and Vince showing up going "HUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNTTTTTTEEEEEERRRR!
  9. Supposedly Krush had been talking backstage about how he was going to shoot slam Yokozuna but the powers that be had been very strict that if anyone who participated in it tried something like that they'd be fired.
  10. The Running Man is definitely up there in my "Favorite movies featuring wrestlers" list. Even though it was a hell of a lot different than the story (which has always been a favorite of mine) it's still a damn fun 80s action flick.
  11. Hell on Wheels had a legit great episode this season when they were defending the hotel. But it's such a weird show right now. I get why people would not watch Once Upon a Time in Wonderland after a few weeks because it's not a very good show but I don't get why people didn't watch the first episode. It had a built in audience, maybe even two. Apparently it had terrible ratings from day one. I really liked Hell on Wheels but the finale of the last season was one of the stupidest things I've ever seen. Because its stupid to waste time watching a show with no proper ending. As opposed to watching something that gets picked up for multiple seasons and goes to shit or has a terrible ending? I get missing a few episodes and deciding to wait for the end of the season to watch it all at once (I'm going to do that with SLeepy Hollow) but not watching something that looks entertaining because it might be cancelled doesn't make sense to me.
  12. No one cared about Goldberg the last time he was in the WWE and I can't imagine there being that much interest in him at this point. I see people mentioning Austin, I thought his back and knees were completely shot?
  13. I only watched the first season of Game of Thrones and it bored the hell out of me. This and the spoofs of it they've done on SNL have been more entertaining to me than that show itself.
  14. I would have liked TDK a lot more if they'd ended it with the scene of Gordon talking to Dent in the hospital and a slow reveal of Dent's mangled face. The final Two Face act seemed really tacked on, almost like a completely different movie.
  15. He was the host of Superstars/Challenge around then, IIRC. He was even in the Royal Rumble that year.
  16. I'm thinking of the Survivor Series match featuring Men on a Mission and the Bushwhackers dressed as Doink now. And the match from IWA-MS TPI in 05 or 06 where everyone on Super Dragon's team wore his gear.
  17. I'm now imagining Bobby doing the Ric Flair "beg off on his knees - uppercut to the balls" spot.
  18. I'm gonna say that it has something to do with the film being in German. Given what a large Jewish presence Hollywood has, I can't see the academy nominating someone who played Hitler. Agree he definitely deserved it though, that movie was tremendous.
  19. My vote for most underrated show ever. If you're from an Arlen-esque town you can appreciate it a lot more.
  20. Barrett's new gimmick actually got a chuckle out of me in the "it's so horrid it's funny" department with the constipation line. I'm wondering if the powers that be have actually been reading peoples' comments about Rowan's sub-par ringwork and intentionally giving him more ring time with quality wrestlers. He worked most of the tag match last week and got a good amount of time with Danielson this week and is looking considerably better. They need to get rid of either MITB or TLC. There are two many ppvs as it is and having two both based around ladder match gimmicks is incredibly redundant. HIAC and EC are kinda the same. They should keep the HIAC gimmick just as an ultimate feud blowoff match but not build an annual ppv out of it.
  21. I see we've combined the abilities of disagreeing with everyone else' taste in wrestlers with everyone else' taste in music.
  22. I actually like the way they resolved this story arc better than they did in the comics. Surprised they ended up with that few casualties. Tv Governor > comic governor and his death was a lot more satisfying this time around. I can't believe people are being squeamish about a baby being eaten on here. People get eaten in far more graphic ways in each episode.
