The poor on-court product and the NCAA being the worst have killed most of my interest in following college basketball. Going to Badger games is fun, and I still watch KU when I can but I have no real investment outside of that. I have resigned myself to the fact that the Bucks will never get rid of Greg Monroe, but I haven't really made peace with it yet. I'm still hoping he'll decline his option for next year, but it's hard to see him leaving $17M on the table.

We got a new TV to replace the one that died 2 weeks ago, an Amazon Fire TV, the new Zadie Smith book, a Kohl's gift card, a KU shirt, and a couple of Wisconsin pint glasses. The big gift was my future in-laws buying us tickets for Hamilton in Chicago on my fiancee's birthday.

Funnily enough I played through Morrowind on Xbox and didn't have too many problems, aside from that 2-hour freeze bug on the expansions. I think because I played the GOTY version that had been patched. I treated myself to Watch Dogs 2 from the PSN flash sale. I've only played an hour or so but I'm already enjoying way more than the first since it's actually bright and colorful and interesting instead of drab and grim.

I sat my fiancee down and had a conversation with her about her mother, the gist of which is that I'm no longer willing to spend time with her mom. The woman is a mean, petty narcissist who treats everyone (including her daughters) like shit. I'm tired of having to hold my tongue around her, and I really don't need that nonsense in my life. We already limit our contact with her so it's not exactly a huge change, but I had to get it out and I'm glad I did. My fiancee took it well, all things considered. She definitely understands where I'm coming from, but she's worried about having to make excuses for why I'm not around. I offered to explain to her mom exactly why, but my fiancee declined, which is probably for the best.

I feel like the first part of this post explains the last part pretty well. Not that I can talk, I love all the Elder Scrolls games and their busted asses. Played some Diablo 3 for the first time in months last night. It's weird to go back to after playing a ton of Grim Dawn. Everything is so fast!

This made me choke on my coffee a little bit. Red, your mom sounds like a fun lady. Glad they caught it early and are getting it taken care of. Sorry that she and your family are having to go through this, especially this close to the holidays.

Target had the console versions of Elder Scrolls Online for like $12 so I picked it up. Seems pretty decent so far. The combat is about the midpoint between Skyrim and your standard MMO fare, but feels more than the sum of its parts. The quest design isn't groundbreaking or anything, but there aren't as many "get me 10 moose antlers" type quests as I expected, so that's a win. All in all it's a pretty good time-waster for the price.

According to SportVu he was assisted on all but one of his baskets, only had possession of the ball for 90 seconds, and only dribbled 11 times. That is absolutely bonkers.

Yeah, it was free on PSN a while back. I didn't care much for it; it felt like the difficulty ramped up pretty quickly without giving the player enough new tools or skills to deal with it. And the more runs you make, successful or not, the more the difficulty ratchets up so it's easy to run into a brick wall and have to restart.

I finally got my shit together enough to go to the doc and get a prescription for an antidepressant. As an added bonus the only side effect from it is loss of appetite, so I'm taking off some of the extra 25 pounds I've carrying around.

I've been playing tons of Grim Dawn lately. I feel comfortable calling it the best throwback ARPG going. The game's DNA is pretty split between Diablo 2 and Titan Quest, but with plenty of modern conveniences, like the ability to travel back to town whenever for free and plentiful respecs. Good stuff. It's also in the current Humble Bundle for $14 if it sounds like your thing.

I'll be at Wisconsin/Central Arkansas tonight. Hopefully it goes better than last year's home opener. The team did not look inspiring in the exhibition last week. None of the starters could hit an outside shot and they missed a ton of gimmes at the rim. The bench looked a little better, Iverson has really improved his game on both ends and Van Vliet is intriguing, but definitely not there yet.

My fiancee has a chronic medical condition and has had 11 knee surgeries in 3 1/2 years. The thought of lifetime maximums and pre-existing condition screens coming back for insurance has been giving me panic attacks since Tuesday.

They confirmed it was coming to PS4. I was hoping for a new expansion, but this is free so better than nothing.

Oh yeah, the only Chinese place that will deliver to us is suuuuuper janky. I used to use my card when ordering until I realized that the old lady who answers the phone was just writing the card number down on a menu that she stapled to our bag of food. So it's cash only now. I also tried to order off their website once and both Chrome and my antivirus said "Don't give this site your credit card number you fucking moron," or words to that effect.

Turning off the powerball bar does wonders for the frame rate for some reason, especially in tag matches. I wish my PS2 hadn't died; I miss playing KoC2
