On Wednesday night, while M'Lady was playing the World of Warcraft, I sat down and read all of Storm Front, the first Dresden book. I found a captivating read that got through the whole thing in 3 hours. It was a totally predictable story but Butcher builds a pretty nice and fun world and it just kind of sucks you in. I've been told Butcher really hits his stride as the series progresses and I liked the book enough that I'm going to keep reading the Dresden Files series. James

From The Vault: Gatchaman 98 Below are the character designs for Tatsunoko's failed "Gatchaman 98" project. It went into development right after the new "Mach E GoGo Go!" began airing but when that tanked Gatchaman 98 was abandoned. What we have are the character designs for Ken, Joe, Jun and Jinpei. The last one is for Galactor troops and possibly the new Blackbird Squadron designs. I only learned of this failed project recently. It didn't even get a page in the updated version of Gatchaman Graffiti a few yers back.

and the new Super Sentai team for next year is named... Shuriken Sentai Ninninger! Thiswill be the 3rd Ninja themed Sentai after Ninja Sentai Kakuranger and Ninpu Sentai Hurricanger. I can only pray for a 3 Ninja Sentai team V-Cinema! James

First 2 episodes of Kamen Rdier DRIVE were ok. I liked the second episode better than the first. This might end up being a more gimmicked Rider than FOURZE, and I didn't think that was possible. I like the idea of the villains evolving when they find the right victim. I also like that Shinnosuke is a detective that pieces together things to figure what the ROIDMUDE are after. I'm already calling it now though... Kamen Rider MACH will be Hayase, Shinnosuke's injured partenr! I fear Mashin Chase will end up being a minor rival like Phoenix was for WIZARD James

Richard is a character who frustrates me no end. He goes from developing into a likable dude and then throws it ou the window at times just so he can prove he is whitest rich white guy in Conneticut James

Caught up on GARO: Makai No Hana Sweet crap did that end on a good note after beign mostly mediocre. I was fucking psyched when Berserk GARO appeared, showing that the mythos of the series can and will be drawn upon for good effect. Of course we get another GARO armor upgrade, while poor Rei can barely beat a mid-level horror in is own mini-series. Still, a great finish and its open ended for a sequel or movie. James

I swear I remember the Sato twins started as fresh faced babyfaces... when did they morph into... I dunno, the Bebop and Rocksteady of MPro? James

There is supposed to be a movie and second season Yami Wo Terasu Mono, so there is plenty of GARO still to come. All I can say is try GAIM now that its completed or AGITO (though TVN hasn't subbed that fully). Non-GARO/Non-Rider stuff? I'm a sucker for Sh15ya and Sexy Voice & Robo. If you want a crack at Super Sentai find a good sub of Dairanger or just just jump in feet first with hinkenger (these are considered by most to be the BEST Super Sentai as far as tone and story) James

In all fairness, it was stated almost from the start that Dora was bi. The author has had some issues in the past, as I remember hearign the hand stabbing had more to do with his personal life than the fan reaction to the comic James

I still have to catch up. A few things got lost along the way, leaving only room for GAIM on a weekly basis. Things should slow down enough to allow me to catch up on GARO, ToQger and Stardust Crusaders by the middle of October. Of course I'll be watching Kamen Rider LAW & ORDER when that starts (my little pet name for Kamen Rdier DRIVE) but I always stick through the new Rider for the season no matter how bad it can get (lookin' at you WIZARD , KIVA and DECADE!) I'd like to think that after that pi was taken with SteveSTING and GordoSTING that Stewart Copeland and Andy Somers turn on both of them. Copeland would, of course, smash a bass drum over GordoSTING's head. The fact that the Stings are turned on is so META it makes my head throb! James

I love that Yoshida and Inoue come out to background music from SDF Macross! I seriously loved Debbie Malenko and was always sad she never had a run in a major US promotion. WCW using 2 Malenkos would've been awesome! James
