  1. Ok. You're right, that is your opinion. The fact still remains that I never said I didn't like anything he said, I didn't say his opinions are suspect and I certainly could not care less about how loud or quiet he is. He got his chops busted because he remained the contrarian and I pointed out the inaccuracy of something he said in response. Next time I'll put a smiley face in the comment just to make sure jimmies aren't rustled.
  2. And sold. I've been wanting to play XCOM on the PC for awhile, but getting everything else is awesome, namely, all of the Civ stuff. Speaking of, if I already have Civ 5, can I still gift that to someone else?
  3. Wow! I was just looking at buying XCOM this weekend on Steam, but it was still too expensive. Can't beat $15.
  4. Curtis Axel, first man to be involved in two Royal Rumble matches at the same time.
  5. I would imagine we'll see an NXT guy in it. One of Sami, Finn, Crews, Corbin, Samoa Joe or even someone like Big Cass.
  6. Actually, aside from the Jericho stuff, I mostly enjoyed Raw. I like Roman turning into the "Fuck it all" asskicker he should have always been. I liked KO verbally murdering Saxton for 15 minutes. I liked the Becky-Flairs interview. The New Day funeral ruled. Hell, in my heart of hearts, I loved the absolutely non-sensical turns of both Paige & Big Show last night. I did not like the main event angle because the Wyatts need to be faces at this point. I am not buying Bray as a threat yet, because he needs his 3 big bears to do any of his dirty work. I am not buying the LoN as any kind of real threat. And I think no one else other than Ambrose, KO, and possibly a new Bullet Club seems to have any remote shot at winning on Sunday. It's Reigns & Brock and no one else is even close. I appreciate they tried to show someone else could win. Because any of the other 29 could. It's just that they've thrown the champ faces impossible odds trope at us for the last 10 years. Why is it such a surprise when I don't think there's any other outcome other than Superman is going to punch Brainiac into the sun again to end this comic book? Kids need and like heroes. The WWE isn't for us. It's for children. Some of it's steered more towards us, but the A-plots almost never are. Sometimes one of the big storylines (Daniel Bryan) captures the hearts and minds of everyone. But there's a reason why Cena wins -- it's the payoff the kids watching wants to see. You can repeat the "WWE isn't for us, it's for children" stuff all you want, but you're going to get it wrong each and every time. You're applying a very cut down the middle, black and white description to WWE programming and it's not accurate. Tell me, who exactly is the target audience when WWE conjures memories and images of angles gone by, which involved wrestlers like Steve Austin? Tell me of the children who WWE is speaking to using some of the language Roman or HHH or Vince does. And, please, tell me who is the primary viewing audience for Raw each week? Oh, and if this is for children and not us, why does Raw air so late? Just so there's no mistaking it, none of this is to say WWE isn't for children, because they're selling to kids, but they're also selling to adults. Adults are the ones who turn this on each week, subscribe to the Network, purchase tickets to live events, purchase merchandise at live events, etc. If WWE isn't for us, they're fucking up. Majorly. There's no denying that kids need or want a hero to watch. Cena fills that role. So does Roman. So have others. That doesn't mean that said hero must win all the time or can't turn heel, and it also doesn't mean that you can't have other heroes, even if they're swamp monsters.
  7. Well of fucking course you did. Come on. People are allowed to have different opinions and express them, or no? FWIW, I don't think it was a great show, or even a good show. But I don't think it was garbage, either. Point to where I said he isn't allowed to have a different opinion or express it. Resident contrarian known for being notoriously contrary with a penchant for moving goalposts (intentional or not) lived up to his reputation. Balls were busted as a result.
  8. They're just lowering the bar to maximize how entertaining the Royal Rumble will be. It's the WM 32 strategy.
  9. This is a most impressive hill to die on.

    The X-Files

Episodes 2 and 3 sound like the monster of the week formula, while episode 1 looks like it's definitely a mythology episode. I can understand why episode 1 wouldn't be as liked then because people seemed to really sour on the mythos stuff, but I always dug it. I just wished Chris Carter could have figured out a better path for it all to take, beyond that huge two parter we got late in the series. Was that in the season prior to the one without Fox and with the two new agents?
  11. Also, you do a HORRENDOUS job of using sports analogies because there's been this and the comment you made about NFL and parity last week. Please use something else for your analogies. You're doing it wrong. I come armed only with the truth that runs contrary to the "Bray hasn't beaten anyone" argument. Except what you said had more to do with who has beaten Bray, not who he has beaten. In fact, you specifically cited who has beaten Bray.
  12. I think 95% of the people here would like to be in as good of shape as Jericho.

  14. Well of fucking course you did.
  15. Someone on Reddit posted a reminder to something Jericho said on his podcast right before or around the time he came back, which was that he had something big planned out and a creative way to return. The guy from Reddit remarked about the dirty looks Jericho gave Roman and Ambrose awhile ago and that maybe this is Jericho's way of turning heel.
  16. Awesome. The track at the beginning is from Red Alert 2 and it remains bad ass to this day. I always thought that would be a great theme song for a wrestler.

    The X-Files

On the other hand, episode two is supposed to be better, while episode three was labeled as an instant classic.
  18. Who is going to be insane enough to take a release German Suplex over the top rope from Brock Lesnar? My money is on Dolph. I don't even know what I want out of this Royal Rumble. The current state of the main roster has beaten me down into not caring about anything. I doubt Owens wins the IC title and I doubt he even enters the Royal Rumble. I guess if there was anything I wanted, it would be a surprise winner. Someone that wasn't Roman, Brock, Sheamus, etc. Maybe Kofi? Man, that's weird to type out. Obviously Owens is another guy I want to win, but I doubt that ever happens. So if it was going to be a big surprise winner, I guess yeah, Kofi is who I'd go with that could realistically walk into WM as champ. Kofi/New Day vs Roman in the main event? I mean, New Day is one of the most, if not the most over act in WWE. You could get a ton of mileage out of them on the way to WM. But then what do you do about HHH or Brock or Undertaker...If HHH really wants to wrestle at WM, I could see him taking on a face Kevin Owens since he's pretty high on him and Owens looks like the perfect dance partner for HHH. It would be a little more indyrific than the match with Daniel Bryan, but I think that's what HHH is into lately.
  19. I can't explain why, but I think the Broncos will win...and I want the Patriots to win. Yeah. Wanting the Patriots to win is only because of Gronk and the prospect of a Panthers/Patriots rematch. I wasn't sure who to pick to win between the Cardinals and Carolina. I went with the Cardinals, but I want the Panthers to win.
  20. We saw Sicario and the Martian this weekend. Sicario was OUTSTANDING! Holy crap! The highway scene at the beginning of the movie had my girlfriend and me on the edge of our seat. So f'n intense. And the score was perfectly dark and brooding. Totally cold blooded ending that reminded me of No Country for Old Men. Emily Blunt's character just embodied how naive the American public is to what is going on right across the border and foolishly believes law enforcement needs to operate with total virtue. Just being a "good guy" isn't going to cut it and I loved every time Brolin or Del Toro had to teach her a lesson. My only complaint was by the end, Blunt's character was really getting on my nerves. That said, all I could do at the end of the movie was think back to what Del Toro says to Blunt very early on. We loved the Martian as well, maybe a little more than Sicario. I still don't get how the Martian is a comedy. I mean, it's funny at times, but the humor is meant to disarm you, or at least that's what I felt.
  21. Old School is still a top 10 funniest movie this century to me. #1 being Step Brothers and #2 Django Unchained. Those two place pretty high in my all time best comedies. I'm not sure of an order, but Ghostbusters and Caddyshack probably top that list. The 80s produced so funny shit. It was peak drugs and people not giving a fuck.
  22. I'm back to playing Dota 2 again, trying to figure out where I went wrong with my life.
  23. I didnt really appreciate at the time that the Bill Mallory/Anthony Thompson era of going to the Liberty Bowl level bowl games was the best it was ever going to get. Oh, dude, what a sad, sad ceiling. All I look forward to now is the random total shootout, the near upset, and the complete obliteration by another team type games. And when I received my last alumni magazine thingy, I half expected Kyle Schwarber to be on the cover.
