  1. Well, considering this is the Weed Bowl, I don't think papers are anybody's concern at this point.
  2. First time I saw La Estrella was in the MPro 10-man tag from 10/10/96. I lost my shit for the rana spot.
  3. The only thing missing from Sherman was him calling out any Bronco. Like if he called out Welker, Thomas, Thomas and Decker and told them he was coming for 'em, I would have lost it.
  4. NES Remix is a fun nostalgia trip. The challenges are pretty impressive.
  5. He will re-sign with Indiana for less than that.
  6. It's the first major inter-promotional match between AJW and JPW. The idea was that JPW sent their two best in to take the belts away. They had never faced each other before and it's considered quite an incredible feat because almost all the match is called in the ring. I know a lot of people don't like the third match, but to me, it's one of the best sprints I've ever seen. It's the definitive Toyota-style match with it's go-go-go style, and even with quite a ridiculous ending (not in a good way), it was one of the few times I saw a Toyota match like that where I was blown away. I actually have them ranked 1-2-3 in chronological order. Outside of the Queendom '94 tag, Dream Rush is the best women's tag match I've ever seen. The Dreamslam II match was fantastic, as well, with Ozaki letting Kansai take the lead for a great majority of the match and it was incredible because of it. It's really splitting hairs to try and rank the three in some ways, but that first tag match was truly something special.
  7. You ever read or watch Othello? Or The Boy Who Cried Wolf?
  8. That loss by the Warriors tonight was absolutely horrible. Had the lead with a minute to go WITH BALL IN HAND. Nuggets go back up one and then it goes: -Turnover -Breakaway dunk with a horrible Barnes foul -Missed FT, OFFENSIVE REBOUND -Missed shot, OFFENSIVE REBOUND -Free throws to go up 5, ball game They can't lose games like that. ESPECIALLY against a team like Denver, who might have just exposed Golden State's biggest weakness defensively when it comes to guarding small lineups. Jordan Crawford won't exactly help there.
  9. This is from Ditch's page on All Japan and the Tokyo Dome: "Despite how popular All Japan was in the early-mid '90s, with Budokan shows selling out well in advance for years in a row, Giant Baba refused to do Dome shows because he didn't ever want to have one show be so big that it made Budokan cards seem small. When he finally consented in '98 they drew 48,000 despite being well past the peak of popularity." As soon as I finished typing my response, I realized that there's a good chance that all those Budokan shows would add up. It was too little, too late when they finally went to the Dome.
  10. The main really dragged for a while because they didn't do a good enough job of making Rusev's offense really look like it was wearing Kofi down. Kofi's comeback was good, and I liked the couple near falls he got, but it wasn't much until the home stretch. Mojo needs some refinement at this point still, but a dude that active and that big has a shot at becoming something big. Breeze got a chance to show off a bit and I liked it. He really does a great job with the gimmick, but I'm not sure how it's going to come off down the road. Annoying gnat with a knockout move is a good start, though.
  11. I expect them to get Tanaka at this point. Problem isn't going to be the pitching with this team. They will need to find some semblance of an offense.
  12. *Points to head* Are you healthy up there?
  13. Warriors get a decent back up PG without giving up a 1 or anyone of notice. That's pretty huge. That basically gives them an 8 man rotation now. Maybe 9 if Mo Speights can actually start hitting a mid-range shot.
  14. Fuck that. Bray's dad should be Jake Roberts.
  15. That 1999 class really sucked. Holy crap.
  16. http://deadspin.com/arkansas-upsets-kentucky-with-overtime-tip-slam-buzzer-1501654644 I mean, good lord.
  17. One time where I wish the arm didn't drop a third time. Rest in peace.
  18. As always, I appreciate the DVDVR board and have donated my money accordingly. LONG LIVE THE LIME GREEN JUGGERNAUT.
  19. Kawada didn't have a "heavyweight frame." He went to Canada and magically came back with about 30-40 lbs. more muscle. That's like saying Dynamite, DBJ or Benoit had a heavyweight frame. Misawa only weighed about 225 during his AJPW reign, but was taller so he looked leaner. Fujinami was indeed broad shouldered, but if he weighed any more than 225 during his peak, that's a lie. Those guys didn't wrestle like flashy juniors because back in their days, there was hardly anybody who did. Misawa wasn't expected to be as flashy as Sayama. Worked for him alright. The Musketeers were making way more money because they were drawing the biggest houses on a consistent basis in the history of professional wrestling, whereas AJPW would run the Budokan at their peak and only made a run at the Tokyo Dome because they felt they had to so that they could keep up.
  20. Yaaaaayyyyy. Because retread coaches are always a good idea.
  21. The one issue I have with this is that it should look like the Psycho Crusher. It looks nothing like it.
  22. It's Boyz II Men, so it's going to win for me. Plus, you HAVE to do the slap song. That was Stacy Kiebler. She was the one who got to do two slaps. I didn't like that they had the other characters play the slap masters, but it was kind of unavoidable.
  23. So that just might be the best montage in the history of montages.
  24. Mark Henry doing a food show reviewing his favorite Texas restaurants would be fucking sick.
