  1. I always love the idea that viewers are all sitting there with their remotes in-hand, switching the channel the second something they don't like is on and then somehow switching back at exactly the moment the thing they dont' like is gone.
  2. As someone who's pretty checked-out on SW right now, I would recommend Rebels for sure, and probably cherry-picking the best stuff from Clone Wars. Rebels was a fun show that carved out it's own corner of the SW universe, which is nice. One of my major issues with the current crop of Filoni stuff is it's just too "hey, it's that character from the cartoon, but live!" for my liking without any real substance to the story. Rebels mostly avoids that by having it's own cast of fresh characters. There was a recent season of Clone Wars, sort of an epilogue, a couple years ago that I remember digging.
  3. Have you seen what Swifties do to the ticket sales of her events? If she plays halftime, we'll have a stadium 3/4 full of people only there to see her. Actually, that would be kind of fascinating. Do they stay for the second half?
  4. I really dig some of the voice work he did. Love him as the voice of Bean in Mr. Fox.
  5. Ha! I always wondered where all those clips in the Beastie Boys' "Body Movin'" video came from.
  6. I thought it was going to say the thieves posed as FBI agents.
  7. It's something, for sure. Last soccer season, we had to have a talk because he was doing the Claudio neck-crank taunt and throat slashes at the other team. The kid really is made to be a pro wrestler. That scares me.
  8. My son did this dance in his last soccer game.
  9. I saw a pic of Kobashi collecting tickets on the train. Made me think of the scene from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade on the blimp. Kobashi chops a passenger out of the train window. "No ticket."
  10. Was there even a raid? This is all very confusing.
  11. Had no idea Benjamin and Emma were back with E. Really thought Ziggler was a lifer. Also really hope he doesn't end up in AEW.
  12. I'd really like to see a Dark Order win, but I feel like it's too soon after the debut of the scissor belts for Acclaimed to lost them. Wouldn't mind the match setting off a feud between DO and Acclaimed, though.
  13. I'm usually not a "if this person doesn't win, I'm gonna be so pissed!" kind of person, but man, I really don't want to see Eddie lose tonight.
  14. (Squints suspiciously at Elsalvajeloco) Sounds like something someone who's actually Jeff Jarrett would say...
  15. If you threw a dropkick, holy shit! You were a high-flyer!
  16. Is it supposed to go more than one season or is it a limited series thing? Also enjoying it a lot!

    THE STRIKE

I haven't really looked into the differences, but why is everyone so mad at Barrymore, Maher (well, other than the million other reasons), etc. when Conan O'Brien started his show up during the '07 strike and was generally praised for getting his crew a payday?
  18. Radrick currently holds my personal second-place ranking for "wrestlers who have a horrible look, but are really quite amazing". First place is, of course, Daniel Makabe.
  19. I may be misremembering, but wasn't she at the PC for a while and hated it?
  20. Starks/Bill is a combo that is not really all that obvious, but damn does it work. I hope they keep them together for a while. Pretty cool that Samoa Joe will be headlining Grand Slam. I think if he didn't have that time in TNA with the face dick and all, he might get more talk as an all-time great. Really, he should despite that time. He's been consistently great for pretty much a 20-year stretch.
  21. I've always just gone with calling them records. I've never got the "vinyl" thing. We don't call CDs, "plastic". "Oh, I've got that one on plastic!" Even when CDs were my main physical media, I'd say a band had a new record out.
  22. Yeah, I think I made it like two minutes into hearing Shoemaker talk about wrestling and gave up. There's some other writer at The Ringer they have doing wrestling stuff, and he was on some podcast I was listening to. When introducing him, the host threw out the question of what his dream wrestling match would be. Anyone, from any era, matching up. He said Shawn Michaels vs. AJ Styles and I was like Spongebob in the meme, I'm out. Other than Schneider, obviously, it seems most of their wrestling people have watched WWE, and only WWE, and have no frame of reference for any other type of wrestling.
  23. The one talent that Simmons has is hiring really good writers. I mean, he put Phil Schneider on his payroll! He's a good curator, but I could do without his actual insight/opinions.
  24. Simmons really is the ultimate example of the prototypical over-confident white male who will talk authoritatively on any subject no matter how little he really knows about it.
  25. The only ones I’ve seen him smiling in are with RVD and Scott Steiner.
