  1. Real good show overall with the last few matches great. Opener was a fun spotfest 4 way, good to have Johnny and Taiji back. Thought Allie/Tessa was perfect, both girls looked great, they got a good amount of time, and Tessa got a big win. Edwards/Dreamer was ok but a little disappointing. Expected a little bit more especially after they tease a flaming table spot but a nice conclusion that I guess puts an end to Psycho Eddie. Who knew the House of Hardcore match would be the tame hardcore match compared to what followed. Cage/Sydal was about as perfect as could be, with Cage's victory being inevitable. The initial Drillclaw attempt countered into a rana by Sydal was aces, loved that. Thought Su/Madison was very good while it lasted but disappointingly short considering the long buildup. Would have like to have seen more from them. Su has a definite aura and her matches feel special. I do wonder if that's the end of this Madison run or not. the 5150 street fight was wild and exactly what it should've been. Nonstop pace and pure violence all the way, great stuff. Then Pentagon/Sami was even more insane, obviously the ending was never in doubt but they still did a great job with trying to make it seem that way with the powder/ref spot. They definitely lived up to their build up. The escalation of blood from Edwards to Hernandez to Callihan/Pentagon was awesome. Aries/Moose was a very good big time main event with a big title fight feel. Moose pressing Aries off the ramp into the crowd was crazy. I figured Aries had to retain being his first defense but shocked to see him do it clean, that was cool. Very interested to see where everyone goes from here. Results for anyone who missed:
  2. RETURN OF THE MACK~! My new favorite entrance, Lionheart is becoming one of my favs.
  3. Agreed on most all of that... really great introductions for new characters lately. I do love Joe Hendry's theme.. this whole deal was hilarious
  4. Great final build to Slammiversary with everything on the card having a feeling of importance. The feud video for LAX/OGz was amazing, really loved that. Joe Hendry's entrance was hilarious, fun little bout with him and Eli. the Madison/Su scenes was awesome, Su's character is just the best and provides a lot of opportunities for crazy angle builds like this. Thought Eddie's promo was fantastic, really looking forward to him and Dreamer.. hoping for a full on old school ECW brawl. Women's tag was fun with all four looking good. Shotzi has tons of potential, definitely hope she's back when recovered from injury. Thought maybe they'd add one more match to get the rest of the guys on the card, but it's stacked as it is so I hope every match gets the time it needs to deliver. Looking forward to every match.
  5. I loved earlier in 03 when HHH switched up the colors of his tights with red, blue, and purple which was super rare and only done during that time period before going back to the traditional black. Also rocking the white boots at WM 20 was unique.
  6. Sad to hear, one of the all time greats. She was awesome everywhere. Absolutely loved her Impact and Shimmer runs in 2010-2011. She was a showstealer on Impact in 2-3 minute matches against Sarita & Taylor Wilde and also killed it in longer matches against Roxxi & ODB. Excellent matches in Shimmer with Madison Eagles, Nicole Matthews, Kurihara, Del Rey, etc in addition to all her Japan/Mexico work.
  7. Same here. Stuck with FPC until it went down and never went to the other site, but I might give the new one a try. Though I feel so behind in not having World.
  8. Stacked! Awesome card. Big fan of Suarez and Esparza so thats a tough one
  9. I thought both Alexa/Nia matches were pretty good at WM & Backlash, and the Chamber if that counts. Other than that, probably back to the Alexa/Sasha series last August as there wasn't a whole lot going on in the late part of the year there. For SDL, Charlotte/Ruby at fastLane.
  10. I usually just point out the positives but this show, at least the first half of it, SUCKED. Thankfully the final four matches saved it from being complete shit for me at least. Early on it felt like they knew Dolph and Seth had 30 so they were afraid to let anything have ANY time at all... then of course the show ends way early. I'm indifferent to the B Team, but the whole feud felt like a complete burial of Woken Matt. He lost to Axel and Bo in singles, clean, for the last 3 weeks straight on Raw and now another 100% clean loss tonight. Bizarre. The whole reign of Matt and Bray was meaningless and they accomplished nothing during it, such a waste. Guessing their will be a 4 way tag for the titles coming up next for Summerslam. Asuka pinned in 5 minutes. I'm actually liking Carmella a lot with her character work (fantastic on the post show), but just more insane booking when this felt like time for the switch. Similar to Nakamura's WWE title chase, this felt like now or never except it was obvious Nakamura would go after the US next while Asuka has nowhere else to go. At this point, if Asuka isn't winning it then Mella can just hold it all year. Speaking of Nakamura, massive disappointment that was and then a completely unnecessary Orton turn. Finally, Lashley/Reigns was badass and turned the show around. Shocking straight up decisive finish for Lashley but awesome to see. For once, something to give confidence in Lashley being handled better than most everyone else. So down for Lashley/Brock, I hope they get to throw down and let Lashley go over if Brock's done, no cash in shit. Alexa/Nia was fun, but more angle than match it seemed. Didn't catch any issue with Alexa's bumping. Finishing stretch was strange with the rail killing Natalya and a kendo stick pretty easily neutralizing Ronda while Mickie bounced back from Ronda's big slam and toss over the table pretty quick. Overall the match was as expected and sets up Alexa/Ronda for SummerSlam nicely. Styles/Rusev was a blast and ended up being quite the match with a few great nearfalls. Good stuff. Enjoyed the main event though felt their Raw matches were better. Sudden death finish was abrupt. I wish they brought Hulk out since they bothered to announce on the preshow that he was there. Speaking of the preshow, Almas/Cara was certainly one of the better matches of the show.
  11. Agreed thought Budd looked fantastic all around last night, great victory.
  12. Halfway there, assuming Deonna is in. Happy to hear Nicole Matthews is in, great talent. Nicole and Billie Kay had some awesome matches back in Shimmer. Also very excited for Kacy Catanzaro.
  13. Almas vs. Sin Cara has been added as a second preshow match
  14. I'd love a super long Su reign that leads to the eventual Rosemary showdown when possible, but I do see Tessa winning it this year and they have done a great job building Madison back up. I hope if Madison loses, she still sticks around as a regular since they kept bringing up how she didn't come back this time to wrestle and all. I like that they have several solid options anyways. That's awesome. Impact getting some of that mainstream press. DeAngelo got a lot of huge praise for his match last year so I hope he ends up doing more
  15. Awesome show - again! I always say one of my absolute favorite things about Impact is having so many intriguing characters and rivalries up and down the show. Even in little things like a simple little backstage scene to set up Desi Hit Squad against Fallah Bahh and KM, I love that.. giving everyone a purpose and something to do. I loved the debut of Shotzi Blackheart. Great little video to introduce her, real fitting theme music brought a superstar presentation to her. I hope she becomes a regular in the future, very solid little match. Allie/Tessa has potential for a great rivalry. Always great to see Eli Drake even in short little bits, fun side angle with Grado/Katarina/Hendry. Another killer promo from Aries in a real good segment with DeAngelo. They've gone a great job keeping Aries a big deal despite not having him wrestle on TV in over a month. Excellent build to Aries/Moose without having them wrestle each other and barely interact directly, just back and forth promos and solid segments like this. Unbelievable main event. That mid-air cutter from Jake Crist was holy shit the best. Incredible sequence of moves to finish that one. the Madison/Su angle was a sweet visual to end the show, I love when they get creative with that kind of stuff. Slammiversary is looking like a really awesome stacked lineup. It looks full now with 8 matches and there's still a few without a match. Definitely looking forward to it, the build up and down has been fantastic so I hope every match delivers a slam dunk.
  16. I like Cat but Marion has been one of my absolute favorites so I hope she pulls it off.
  17. Yeah my initial thought was a way for Owens to win without Braun having to lose by pin or submission but I thought the same thing last month when Braun was the absolute last guy that needed to win MITB but they feel he has to win everything. For whatever it's worth, early local ads were advertising Owens/Reigns for HIAC in September.
  18. New Day vs Sanity in a Tables Match added as the Preshow match. Surprised since it's one of the few gimmick matches on Extreme Rules that it's not on the main card.
  19. Opening brawl was fun along with the women's tag as the crowd stayed hot and were solidly behind Nia tonight. Always odd when they have half the roster do the pull-aparts like having the Authors of Pain just random dudes in the pack there with everyone. Rollins/McIntyre was pretty awesome, great final few minutes especially. Thought Ember/Liv was super fun with both looking impressive. Constable Corbin remains one of the best parts of the show. I've always assumed they were dragging the Sasha/Bayley nonsense out for f'n ever with the thought that their ppv 'blowoff' "has to be" in Brooklyn.
  20. Never wrestled each other but they teamed one time on ECW in Feb 2008 against Elijah Burke and Shelton Benjamin. I think they had a brief brawl segment in 2012.
  21. I'm down for a double header AXS special Haku vs. Cody (or Kenny) Jay White vs Josh Barnett Throw in a Jericho title defense too. On the real though I doubt it'll actually happen, they could put over Jay beating Barnett as a big deal.
  22. At the time it was leading up to Aries vs. Roode, Hogan as GM gave Aries two choices Option A was give up the X title to challenge for the World and Option B was continue being X Champ and turn down the world title shot. Aries suggested option C which was giving up the X for the world title shot but with the add in that it would be an option every year at Destination X for whoever the X Champ was in order to raise the prestige of the X title. Of course it didn't stick and the attempt to redo it the following year was mostly awful.
