Can totally see AJ beating Brock, probably with Braun distraction, with maybe the rubber match happening at Mania. Braun costing Raw the win would play into his feud with GM Corbin too.

Always feel bad for Oliver Grey. He was pretty good in NXT in the days before BritWres really got on the radar, and now he seems to barely wrestle. He got released at the same time as Danny Burch, but while Burch relocated to America and got rehired, Grey doesn't even get booked for NXTUK. He's only 31, but I'm guessing the door has closed for him

[NXT SPOILERS] HALLOWEEN 2018 (Taped 10/17)
Sky Blue Sam replied to RIPPA's topic in WWE PROGRAMMING
Luke Menzies has all the tools to be a big star. Considering he was still playing professional rugby just over two years ago, he's taken to wrestling really quickly. His UK indy run was pretty fun, and I'm never going to be opposed to seeing a Marty Jones trainee hitting the big leagues. -
Thanks man, feels odd supporting Cov at the moment. Just won 4 games on the bounce, on the verge of winning 5 in a row for the first time since the Dublin/Huckerby era, yet I'm still not convinced we're actually that good. Maybe years of being awful have me overly cautious. Sad to see what's happened to Bradford, you were one of the real forces in the league for the past few years. I remember watching Kyel Reid on the wing for you guys basically tearing our defense apart on a cold Tuesday night... Only for us to sign him and he be useless.

Not true. Alexa is perfectly adequate, but I'm a big supporter of Alicia, and I'm happy to see her get a match on a big show. Alicia's a great bumper, has that perfect Northern Lights suplex, great nasty back breaker. I even bought her one and only t-shirt this year.

Alicia Fox replacing Bliss increases the match quality tenfold, but also guarantees we know who is taking the pin.

Quiet Storm has gone on to have a successful career in Japan, even winning the tag title in NOAH last year, so that should rule him out of Worst Johnny Kickpads. It should, however, move him over to Most Johnny Kickpads, as moving to Japan to work is the JKP dream

I've been watching a chunk of 83 and 86 WWF recently and, whilst I accept it wasn't his prime, nothing about Tony Garea stands out as remotely interesting. He's very much a guy who's just...there

I kinda liked the main event, and I'm someone who hated both of their Mania matches. It wasn't technically good, but as a load of old men smoke'n'mirror nonsense, it was fine. Then again, I thought Styles/Joe was a load of plodding nonsense that was only saved by AJ bumping like a boss, so opinions may vary.

I almost feel bad telling you that Kenneth Cameron went on to become Bram. No-one deserves to becomes Bram. Loving this thread BTW, the early days of NXT are a fascinating period.

RAW IS THE SHIELD IS PURGED - 9/3/2018
Sky Blue Sam replied to Dolfan in NYC's topic in WWE PROGRAMMING
Drake said in his promo that he's still the 205 Live GM, but also the AoP manager. Presumably something realised he's one of the best talkers they have, so only using him in 205 wasn't the best idea. I'm hoping at some point theres a six man tag vs the Shield, with Drake as the cowardly cheapshotting manager, which ends with Roman spearing him out of his boots -
Nice to see Luke Menzies already getting screen time (even though it led to me finding out via the DVDVR Twitter that his surname is American slang for "period"). Feels like a guy they've got high hopes for - as I remember, they offered him a contract over a year ago, but he couldn't get a visa, so he's spent the last year working UK indies until he qualifies. The fact they didn't give up on him, plus sharing a trainer with Regal, means he's going to have a bright future

Purely in kayfabe, AJ has held the world title of the worlds biggest wrestling company for 9 of the 12 months in the voting period, including beating the Royal Rumble winner on more than one occasion. He also became a two time US champ in that time, so he's got as good an argument as anyone

AUGUST 2018 WRESTLING DISCUSSION.
Sky Blue Sam replied to The Natural's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
I really hope they don't overload it with past names, nothing would make a mockery of the idea of "Evolution" than bringing back the likes of Lita who was bloody awful when she retired 12 years ago. -
If they're remotely serious about Becky being a heel, they'll need to change her music, because that's an immediate pop generating, absolute banger of a theme, and no one is booing when that hits.
-
I think the real reason that Finn wasn't the Demon, is that he only had 2 hours between getting a title match and the match actually starting, and all that painting takes time.

AUGUST 2018 WRESTLING DISCUSSION.

Some good news for today... Enzo says he's never wrestling again -
So surreal, but fantastic, to hear Michael Cole describing the former Nixon Newell as "one of the best wrestlers in the world".

WWE EVOLUTION (All Women's PPV) - 10/28/2018
Sky Blue Sam replied to RIPPA's topic in WWE PROGRAMMING
Part of Carmella's problem is that the role of "below average wrestler holding Women's title that they only won by cashing in MITB when the champion was weak, and will hold onto the title through weaselly cheating" is also being done on the other brand by a performer who, for all her faults, is better than Carmella at everything. -
WWE EVOLUTION (All Women's PPV) - 10/28/2018

Wonder if they use the two women referees from NXT for this? Also, will they stick with the usual suspects on commentary or try to use at least one woman in the booth. I'd be glad to hear Beth Phoenix back, especially if she replaced Coach or Saxton -
Have to disagree, the crowd are never right to try and ruin the show for other people. Whatever your opinions on Roman, he's still a guy with a huge fanbase, a big merch mover, and they will still want to see their guy try and win the world title, and they don't deserve to have a load of dicks ruining the match for them. Just go to the bar if you don't like it. I mean, I'd rather drown in a sea of vomit than watch Seth vs Ziggler, but I wouldn't sit there at the show braying about how bad the match is because I know lots of other people around me would probably be enjoying themselves, and don't need an obnoxious loud arsehole bellowing about how much their favourite sucks.

JUNE 2018 WRESTLING DISCUSSION
Sky Blue Sam replied to The Natural's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
While I'm loathe to defend Big Cass, has there been a credible source for this Carmella story? One of his friends has come out on Twitter to say it isn't true and, given the original source seems to be notorious liar Billi Bhati, it might be worth waiting for someone reliable to back up the claim. -

Sky Blue Sam replied to The Natural's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
As someone slowly working their way through 2014 episodes of Main Event, Rybaxel were a really great team to watch, lots of fun as two dumb meatheads. Should have been given a tag title run. -
JUNE 2018 WRESTLING DISCUSSION
Sky Blue Sam replied to The Natural's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
1PW in the UK booked a Dustin Rhodes vs Christopher Daniels match, but on the day of the show announced both men had food poisoning and two replacements had been sourced. At which point, Curry Man and Goldust came out for a match
