UFC 200: Tate vs. Nunes (7/9/2016) - Las Vegas, NV (T-Mobile Arena)

I agree. Watching Aldo was like watching an old Chris Eubank match, he'd only fight 60 seconds out of every round and spend the rest of the time strolling around and sort of feinting a bit. So the gold mat and the gold lettering on the gloves was just for this historic show, right? Not from now on, or anything? -

Did you just use a pronoun? We can't have any pronouns in the WWE! Who is 'he'? Can I sell merchandise with 'he' on it? No I can't! Say his name! SAY IT! SAY IT! -

I thought that said Brain Taker for a second there. -
Had to make sure they were spelled right, didn't they?

If you loosen that description to include a Super Suicide Snapmare Driver Extreme V3... go to an indy show ;) -
Yeah, the whole 'One man team' hype, and then they win the game while he's not on the pitch. Good for them. Vamos!

Self-quoting because... BBC2, Saturday July 16th July, 00:55 Repo Chick (2009) dir: AlexCox. Cheers for that, the BBC. Does someone who schedules BBC2 read the board or something? Show Soulboy again. And the Grass Arena, that was great. Mark Rylance!

Who's to say the Japanese promotions would play ball with that? Or the Japanese fans, for that matter? And I'm not sure his style is conducive to having a high quality Japanese-style match (although Japan is a lot more similar to WWE style than it used to be). Also, name a wrestler that has been in WWE for a long time without getting over at the level they wanted, went to Japan and had good matches, then came back and became a legit top level main eventer. Except Umaga.

So, is Anderson Silva actually in shape? Because apparently he had surgery (Gall Bladder removal) two months ago. I mean, it's a big payday late in his career, anyone on the roster would have taken the fight even though Cormier's pretty much nailed on against almost anybody, with how short notice it is. -
If there was a gym with a doping problem, almost everyone who trained there would be getting busted all the time. But MMA guys go from gym to gym and have different locations for strength work or conditioning work than they do for actual MMA technique. That picture of Jones' supplements guy from a few pages back? If a guy built like that walked into a respectable MMA gym, most trainers would boot him out the second he approached one of the fighters and started asking what they took. But if an especially stupid MMA fighter walked into a weights gym where all those dodgy dealers hang around... Jones does have a bit of an "If it seems to good to be true, it's probably just really really good" mentality to him. Does anyone know his personal email? I know this Nigerian doctor with a great investment opportunity he should hear about.

You know how that OJ Simpson show (not the ESPN one) was subtitled American Crime Story, and was from the producer of American Horror Story? Did they announce a season two (about a different important court case) at any point? And if they didn't, why not? I mean, that may have been the perfect subject because it had so much contemporary relevance and cultural importance, but it's not like nothing interesting ever happened in a court room before or after. And, like AHS, there's nothing stopping them having the next run be a period drama about Roe vs Wade or something.

So are all the fighters from this TUF season who didn't make the finals done with the company? Or is it a case of maybe finding them an undercard spot somewhere, but not as a part of International Fight Week, because that's a bit more big time. Most likely the three English girls have a shot at being on some possible future UK card, and Khalil's teammate who got hurt and pulled out is probably pretty nailed on to get another look, but beyond him... whilst the 'contracts for everyone' TUF era came to a close years ago, the 'contracts for about half of you' era was an ongoing thing I thought. Even in the season for the then-vacant 115 title, they dumped half of the fighters afterwards. And then bought the Australian one back just for Aussie shows.

Cormier's immediate reaction was to say he'd sign a waiver and fight Jones anyway. -

Count Bartelli (masked British wrestler in the 60s & 70s) used to use an Abdominal Stretch as his finisher, only it was a shoulder submission, not a belly lock. He'd set it up with Irish Whips where he'd hold on to the wrist and wrench the arm as they ran away. Anyone still using the Straight Arm Lift? I think Cesaro used to use it in his past life sometimes. Not on the big stage though. -
I don't see how Lesnar vs Orton would work stylistically. Lesnar matches are based around him bouncing his opponents around like rubber balls, and Orton's all fragile and injury prone. And the psychology of Orton matches is the same as HHH matches. Punch your opponent once, then have them lie down while you do my poses and make a face.
