  1. Okay when does Paragon Pro air? I just saw that I have POP today out of nowhere before you guys said they had wrestling and this intrigues me. Not like I really need to see current Gangrel but what the fuck, why not.
  2. I just walked back in the door from going to pick up my check and the TV was still on, only it was playing the end of Blown Away. What the fuck did I just watch? How did Tommy Lee Jones playing another psychotic villain slip through the cracks on me? Is this actually worth watching all the way through?
  3. Dammit, I used to have that Angel Witch shirt the guitarist is wearing (funny, that came up in conversation the other day on Facebook with some other guys that also had one of them and now I see it here). Not like I could fit into it these days...
  4. Sounds like a house show I went to in Nov. 1992... WWF @ Auburn Hills, MI - Palace - November 20, 1992 (2,500) Max Moon defeated Terry Taylor at 15:15 WWF Tag Team Champions Ted Dibiase & IRS defeated the Natural Disasters when IRS pinned Earthquake at 10:46 Lance Cassidy pinned Skinner at 8:22 Razor Ramon defeated Randy Savage via count-out at 8:57 Owen Hart & Koko B. Ware defeated Barry Horowitz & Bob Bradley at 14:18 Tatanka pinned Repo Man at 8:29 Bob Backlund defeated WWF IC Champion Shawn Michaels via count-out at 15:44 Nailz pinned the Big Bossman in a steel cage match at 8:39 Poor Terry Taylor having to wrestle Konnan for 15 excruciating minutes. Was he still the Red Rooster then? That would just be insult to injury. Watched the Midlothian match and that was priceless for Dean and Tim MST3King it the whole time. Maffew should put that whole thing up as a singular episode of Botchamania sometime.
  5. I'm still pissed that I can't find Onita/Sasuke II from M-Pro in full anywhere.
  6. That match was fucking fantastic. Two enormous mounds of muscle and flesh pounding at each other like they're trying to make a cutlet out of the other. Simple movesets, nothing too absurd (the pescada from Oka looked like someone threw an engine block off a bridge at a car though); the whole vibe of BJW Strong Style is the emphasis on the Strong, just rock solid selling and heavy hitting unlike New Japan where it's just heavy hitting and no-selling. The whole 'backwards' psychology you talked about makes sense to me because it's just two big big dudes throwing everything they got into everything they do -- why would a massive German not do as much damage as a guy that big wrenching down on an abdominal stretch? The key to it all is they sell it, maybe not as much to be perfect, but nothing ever is. I'd like to see Cesaro vs. Okayabashi honestly.
  7. Gezol from Sabbat's side project Metalucifer is equally killer in a total NWOBHM fashion. This is the same song as above done Metalucifer style. I saw them live years ago and Gezol stage-dove right on my head. It was a great moment in my life.
  8. I don't get Tom's beanie. Hiding a bald spot? Anyway, JAPAN. This is really awesome if you have a taste for absurdly melodramatic Engrish vocals over the top of prime Kai Hansen-era Helloween style power metal. Could be a perfect fit for a major puro wrestler theme. ...and they did a song about freakin' Sam Raimi's Darkman! Sigh are absolutely brilliant. A black metal band obsessed with Venom and old thrash, but also obsessed with Stravinsky/Shostokovich style modern classical, Japanese occultism, and basically throwing everything plus the kitchen sink into their compositions. That's as close as I can get to describing them. Sabbat are an incredibly divisive band because they just have that absurd Japanese thing going for them with weird/bad vocals (the shriek of Temis Osmond on the songs where he takes the mic will upset your animals) and a semi-amateurish feel at times, but they compose some amazing stuff. And the legendary Gezol is totally unafraid to wear that damn leather thong onstage.
  9. Also, I went to Youtube and watched the brawl. Truth and Woods ("Make a wall!") were killing it. Everybody did their best to make a really shitty idea look really awesome. Brock turning the table over just because he's Brock and has to cause collateral damage was perfect. I guess I'm in the middle on this; I work Mondays now so anything that makes me go to Youtube to watch it because y'all are arguing about it kind of removes any teeth I have in the argument.
  10. That's what I was thinking of. I've seen very very little of MVP
  11. http://deathvalleydriver.com/forum/index.php?/topic/2964-new-japan-gets-tv-deal-in-us/page-6 Just a hot crowd, wrote about it here
  12. Was this at Korakuen? That might explain things, but I could be biased based on the last-year footage from that New Japan show I reviewed.
  13. Since the Ballers comments brought it up in my mind, the difference between Curb and Louie is that Louie has characters you can sympathize or empathize with, and Curb is curated around a sociopath who you can't feel anything for. It's taking Seinfeld and putting every asshole in that show's worst traits in one character, that being Larry. Not that it still isn't funny sometimes, but it's not my taste in humor.
  14. Now I'm imagining Virgil and the Ascension as the ultimate jobber trio
  15. Okay, because this wasn't explained whatsoever I went to the trouble of looking up NOAH results myself (nobody is doing their damn job around here anymore!) and found this *Stewie Griffin voice* Man Super Crazy got faaaaaaaat (most of us here can relate to that gentlemen, no insult intended) I'm so out of the loop I have no idea who the other three are. and this Well shit. This and Suguira (remember when we called him Big Boss?) going up against Suzuki might be good as long as everyone reigns it in a bit. Someone should tell me how the above was if/when it comes out on the Youtubes or Dailymotions.
  16. Beat me to the joke, goddammit It's bittersweet as hell seeing Chris and Tammy posing with Sheiky Baby, knowing what happened to all three of them. But Chris' smile could light up a cathedral.
  17. Hasn't somebody else already used the Drive By as a name for a move? I'm totally blanking on it if so.
  18. I still think that ladder match with Honma stomps all over the two Honma/Yamakawa matches. Posting these because they have to be absolutely fucking stupid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2V5AuMqo6UM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c13Nj_iFGUo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJkStCitx9k
  19. You might want to spoiler that for NSFW reasons
  20. I always forget about this album. Incredible speed and precision. If you could drum like that you'd give up most of your past sexual history and probably a good deal of memories in general in trade.
  21. I only paid about half attention to Diabolik but the laughing gas scene was a riot. What did they call that again, "amusement gas" or something?
  22. Man they nail a scene with Kelly and Vince and then do the most pretentious and shitty addendum to it. This show is so bipolar. Then they try to make up for it with a cuddle on the couch... ugh. ...but that last scene was all worth it. The look in both men's eyes was stunning.
  23. Rusev and Cesaro should feud forever and a day. What I saw of that match was the shit. Now I have to see that three-way.
  24. Sorry for the massive size of the photos. They just have to be here. Lucha Homer Simpson, Lucha Two-Face~! And someone will hip me to the alternate identities of the other two guys I'm sure
  25. That needs to be spoilered to prevent people from the horrendous image that came into my mind when I looked at it. Dalton Castle style.
