  1. Heenan recycled his prison jokes from the Boss Man-Mountie match!
  2. This! Tessitore should have been calling noon Wake Forest-Boston College game on ESPNU not MNF.
  3. Looks like no announcer less skycam feed:( One of the ESPN's had for the CFP, it was soooo much better than the regular and other gimmick feeds.
  4. Would Ed Wiskoski have even known what an Afrikaaner accent sounded like? The only time South Africa was ever shown in the media back then was on the news and usually it was b-roll of some atrocity, the only entertainment media kind of exported from South Africa back then was British productions that featured British actors like The Wild Geese.
  5. Or they could be holding back doing anything with him until season 5. I can’t see the Sam, Miguel, Robbie stuff being able to carry on past season 4, send Sam to college then center the teen side of the show on Anthony starting high school. Maybe have the heel teen be the son of Ali’s friend who saw through Daniel’s bs back in the day.
  6. But wouldn't the Jets being the Jets mean they'd draft Penn State TE Pat Freiermuth with their pick?
  7. In the current political climate once you get outside of urban/suburban areas it's all pretty much the same.
  8. In that scenario wouldn't Miami or Atlanta trade the pick for a kings ransom to a team who needs a QB?
  9. Texas seems like it's own thing compared to the rest of the "South", as a Yankee the places I've been and people I met in Texas were way way different than the Carolina's, Georgia, Tennessee, and Kentucky.
  10. It's going to be a placement game so 1st vs. 1st, 2nd vs. 2nd and so on. Having it be a "rivalry game" would give teams that have a yearly "rivalry game" with say the Lions or Jags a competitive advantage, also there's not enough rivalries to go around so there'd be the contrived ones like MLB has with Pittsburgh vs. Detroit, Philly vs. Boston, Arizona vs. Texas and Colorado vs. Houston. Doing placement games also allows marquee teams like Dallas, Pittsburgh, Green Bay, KC, LA Rams, New England and Chicago to potentially play each other more frequently.
  11. Austin, Taker and Michaels are Texans and Texas really isn’t the “South” it’s Texas.
  12. I watched the new cut the other day, Coppola moved some things around and made some cuts in the beginning that made more sense to the Vatican Bank stuff and what the check Mary gave to the Cardinal at the party was really about. I always felt they miscast Vincent, Altobello and Joey Zasa, Andy Garcia, Eli Wallach and Joe Mantegna are great actors but none were right for their parts. Mantegna’s Chicago accent really stands out to the point I was waiting for him to say Da Bears.
  13. Season 3 is more like a 5 hour movie than a series.
  14. Also they always go on about how the Steelers “are traditionally a power running team” which is totally false, the 70’s Steelers were all about traps, sweeps and draw plays, then when they changed rules to open up the passing game they aired it out, Cower only went with the power running game when he had big backs like Jerome Bettis and Bam Morris. Even when the Steelers were slightly good in the early 60’s it was due to Bobby Layne chucking it down field.
  15. Arenas in the Northeast usually had a curfew, the biggest reason was overtime for arena workers started after 11PM, it would be “waived” if the promoter would kick in for the OT.
  16. How is Robert Davi not in this? Also the whole “we can’t get work because of our politics” excuse is pretty hollow when “talented” conservatives/republicans like Tim Allen, Adam Sandler, Vince Vaughn, Kevin James and so on haven’t had any hold ups.
  17. Their O-Line, Running Backs and QB, aren’t that good! The first half of the season they hid it pretty well but the rest of the league figured out what they were doing and that’s why we’re seeing what we’re seeing. They really need to bench Ben since he’s useless and is throwing worse than The Duck did last year. But even with the injuries the Steelers D is one of the best in the league, that’s going to win you some close games.
  18. Switch it from unfrozen Nazi to unfrozen 1950’s Soviet and that gimmick would have been money.
  19. TC can take players over three at a time in his chopper.
  20. I doubt USA rebrands, the name have been around since the late 1970's and I think the days of goofy names like Spike TV are long gone. Any original programming under the Comcast banner that has a budget is going to be on Peacock, so that leaves USA with WWE, reruns of comfort shows, old movies that can be stretched to 2 or 3 hour blocks, and el cheapo reality/game shows. Losing the WWE would kill their overall rating and drop them down with the likes of WGN-America and Sundance, USA needs an anchor show and that's WWE wrestling on Monday nights.
  21. No idea, I haven't listened to local over the air radio on the regular since 2001.
  22. The disco backlash was totally racist and homophobic, but just as Charley Steiner said in the doc The Bee Gees were insanely over played, I was around 5 years old in that era and I still have memories of wanting to get out of the car whenever The Bee Gees or Andy Gibb came on the radio again and again and again. Also even without the backlash the disco fad would have been gone by 1980, those white suburbanites who were hitting up discos in 1978 and 1979 replaced their polyester pants and gold chains for jeans and cowboys hats in 1980 and 1981 thanks to John Travolta's next flick Urban Cowboy, while the hipper younger set moved onto breakdancing and early hip hop or New Wave.
  23. The New York Times is reporting it too, will they go with something cool like Spiders or something lame like Rockers? https://twitter.com/nytmike/status/1338291508659761153?s=20
