August 2023 Wrestling Discussion
Mister TV replied to Dolfan in NYC's topic in The PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
Yeah, he'd most likely get a hernia trying to shoot lift anyone in that ring over the top rope. After thinking about it, if his plan was to choke people out or break their arms, someone would have punted his head Ray Guy style once he was on the mat. -

Since he'd have to start with Steve Blackman, his chances of getting far are slim. Blackman would quickly realize what's going on compared to say Droz and fight back, next Blackman most likely has been in way way more street fight type fights compared to Severn and could hold his own, then once everyone backstage realizes what's going on the next two entrants would most likely be Ken Shamrock and The Godfather. Even if his fantasy became somewhat of a reality, once 3 or 4 guys get him down someone is pulling out one of his eyeballs, just out of principal. -
Wow! The Bobby as a model and Bobby kicking everyone in the balls are both in my top 10 of funniest episodes of any tv show. Also, Buck Strickland is one of the funniest semi-recurring characters in tv history and Gilbert Fontaine Dauterive was one of the funniest one off characters.

Will Sandler's accent be a Zohan level of bad or will he turn it up a few notches for a Tom Hanks in The Terminal bad.

I don’t think Bischoff/Fusient would have had a pot to piss in after buying WCW, wasn’t there a lot of shadiness when it came to where the money was coming from? -
Micki & Maude with Dudley Moore is somewhat wrestling related and breaks the sacred "kayfabe". Andre, Big John Studd, Jay Strongbow, Gene LeBell, Hard Boiled Haggerty and Wildman Jack Armstrong who by law had to be in any wrestling related movie or tv show, are in it.

Requiem for a Heavyweight is like Night in the City, where it uses wrestling as a plot point. All the Marbles is great but there's so much padding, more than a third of it is them driving around with Falk's character badly ADR'ed in saying "you girls need to work on the sunset flip".

Walton Goggins deserves every award possible for his monologue about what happened with Dusty Daniels on Y2K. While this season of Gemstones had many many hilarious moments, I really didn't care for the main storyline.

I can't see the strikes going that long, the big media companies will all have a few bad quarterly reports before then and shareholders will be antsy to make a deal.

There's no way they're ahead of the ACC, they added BYU who's played a joke of a schedule since going Independent, Cincy and UCF are good but will be facing a bit of reality in moving up a level, Houston only got the invite because they needed a Texas school and Colorado has stunk since W Bush was president.

How long before Vince had Rollins do a commercial similar to this one.

I'll co-sign on this being really good but depressing due to all the drivers who were killed during Stewart's time.

In the I feel really really old category, today is the 40th anniversary of the "Pine Tar Incident".

I don't think any Unplugged even comes close to his.

The movie he got the $50 million for has already been shot, the news of the number was just reported yesterday. https://screenrant.com/red-one-movie-dwayne-johnson-salary-pay-record/ -
So Pruitt was just handing out cash? He wasn't systematically covering up rapes and sexual assaults? If so why is he having the book thrown at him?

It was named after former wrestler and Los Angeles promoter Jules Strongbow, the WWF Jules Strongbow was a totally different guy. -

As someone with bad handwriting, it always looks way way worse in a "here's a scrap of paper and random pen, now write this down" situation like this one. -
