  1. Trying to answer Teflon Turtle's inquiry about OC's behaviour. Now, this in no way related to how AEW has explained it, as I understand from other responses, they haven't addressed it, BUT: maybe OC could get by with the low effort throughout the matches in the indy scene, but has found out the hard way that he can only be himself in the first half of his AEW matches, since this is as big time as professional wrestling gets, he is forced to try at least some of the time, or he will just get killed. And as low effort as he may be, he still prefers not to get crippled by his opposition, even though all this trying is against his very nature? Subconscious survival/self-preservation instinct, or something?
  2. Evidence suggests that this will turn out about as well as SaNiTy did. I hope I'm wrong, but...
  3. Well, there's always he possibility that Mr. Robinson will known as Juice Storm from now (then) on, but yeah, that's probably what we are looking at.
  4. Ok, today was my first workout as a 44 year old. Bench day. Started with 3x132, 5x220, 5x253, 3x264, 1x281 then 2x292, 2x286, 2x275, 4x264, 10x253, 7x242, 11x220 and 20x132. Did some resistance band work, light curls and side delts between most of the sets. Then ab work the usual stretching at the end. Ok, so I can say that I bench more now than I did at 24 and 34 years old. Also, I bench more now than I did at 40 (key word here is "did", not "could", as I wasn't attempting to go too heavy there for a good bit) and about the same as I did at "my physical peak" at 38. As a side note, 24 and 34 are not exactly great times of my benching ability, so benching more than at 23 and 36, respectively, would be (and is) more impressive. Oh, oh, oh, and after the workout, when I was changing into my work clothes, I mentioned to a young co-worker (who's relatively new to our place) that it was my first workout at 44 and he said he would have thought I was only in my mid 30's! (Of course, being so young, to him a person in their mid 30's might as well be halfway in the grave!) But hey, I took it as a HUGE compliment and it sure made my day!
  5. This would make a glorious "unnecessary censorship" bit! Actually, it seems bad enough even without the blurring!
  6. I like it and I can't deny that. ...and on the subject of that theme, it was awesome, but just like Jungle Boy's version of Tarzan Boy isn't the original mix, but rather mordernized and improved version with some heavier guitars mixed in, this could have used some hair metal style riffs in the background to keep it firmly in the 80's, but make it a bit less of a complete rip-off! Mind you, I have no problem with complete rip-offs of good/great songs if they are also done well enough. And on another note, it still is kinda amusing that these two Tully-sized Arns would pay homage to The Midnight Express with their gear and theme. Does that qualify as "ironic" , even if they are being totally serious about it? Is "an ironic coincidence" a thing?
  7. Best wishes a day or so late. And just to clarify, 1000040 years would (and does) make anyone ancient, like literally. Sorry DEAN! But being 40 isn't what it used to be. I'm 40 +10% now and most days, once I get going, I still don't feel what I understand 40 should feel like.
  8. I'm starting to get worried that if Gargano does not get a new contract once the current one is up, it will be Dexter accidentally ending up killing off Johnny's character. Maybe one more espionage mission gone horribly wrong, or something?
  9. Now that wet looking hair-style suits her and especially her new character tremendeously!
  10. I'm going to assume that in this case "they" refers to the evil spirits possessing both Bray and Alexa. They "released" Bray from the spell The Fiend had on him and then told Alexa she's not allowed to use their powers to win wrestling matches anymore. Now as to WHY this happened, and what made the spirits to act that way, but it may have something to do with the fact that it was Bray who they wanted and Alexa was just a special weapon they gave him. Once they let him go, they decided not to allow the use of their powers anymore, but forgot to release Alexa from under the spell! Now that the doll met her demise, maybe the spell will be broken.
  11. Or the announce desk doesn't collapse on itself from a self-proclaimed fat ass dancing on it earlier! Although, if JR, Wight OR Mark Henry did it, I wouldn't blame the table. That's not regular use for an announce desk.
  12. He could still be 2nd favorite and get special treatment! And like Casey pointed out, against The Demon, you would very likely be getting some celestial perks!
  13. If she will not be requiring too much of your assistance during her workouts, I'd say it should only serve as an extra bit of motivation for you! Trapbar was not as overwhelmingly difficult as it was last week, but still felt heavy af! Started with 10x140, 10x242, 10x286 and 10x363, then with Versas on 6x430 and 6, 5, 5 and 4x451. Shrugs with 242 and 176 as well as all the pairs of plates I carried back to the rack. Ab work and stretching to finish. Later in the evening I stretched and rolled my quads and hamstrings throughly and once again it helped my bikeride home immensely. Friday it will be bench, I hope.
  14. Ok, this week will again be 3 workouts, max, as Wednesday and Thursday will be off due to real life. Yesterday was a light, but long and intense upperbody pump, as shoulders, lats, chest, traps, triceps and biceps all got their shit in. I feel somewhat sore in all those places, but nothing too bad. On Saturday we went for a stairclimbing workout. On the last climb up, I tried to especially activate my glutes and ended up with sore CALVES the next day. At least I felt it somewhere. Last night, before leaving work, I stretched my legs extra well and they were definitely in need of it. Biking home felt better than usual so I guess it did help. Today, I'll do trapbar and Friday bench, hopefully. I want to know what my starting level in my mid 40's will be, as far as bench goes. As for other big moves, I'll find out in the upcoming weeks.
  15. Last few days have been even more uninteresting than usual... On top of that, I'm about to officially enter my mid 40's, so I'd like to pre-emptively and politely tell all you kids to get off my lawn. The forties themselves haven't sucked nearly as bad as I figured they would, but the 2020's have just been the shit worst decade so far. But hey, maybe things will start to slowly not suck 100% all the time, next year?
  16. Hey, if Freddie Mercury and Elton John both found a nice women to settle down with for a little bit (obviously those relationships didn't last, but they happened and the reason they did, could have been an attempt to settle down in another sense [i.e. less drugs, booze]), it is theoretically possible Liberace could have given it a go as well. But maybe he wasn't the type to settle down with or for any one person, male, female or other?
  17. I don't really understand legitimately hating wrestlers for their in-ring work. I have a bunch of wrestlers I give no two shits about, but even then I hardly ever even skip or fast forward their matches, I just go do something else while they are on. I don't even have the time to hate wrestlers for their transgressions outside the ring but I will likely pay even less attention to their work then. There's so much good stuff out there still, that literally hating somebody's matches so much that you wish them harm, is indeed kinda backwards. You will save time for the stuff you actually like by NOT watching what you don't like. Unless you like watching stuff you hate, which is , of course also your prerogative.
  18. Now, I don't claim to understand art all that much, but even I understand that THIS is art!
  19. Any idea if there will be any sort of classic drop in September? I don't think I have noticed any at this point?
  20. Wow, that took considerably less time than that "Soccer Mom vs MMA Figher" match I saw on Reddit from something called "Tomato Can Fighting" or something, and that only took about as long as that whole clip did.
  21. Good luck with the deadlift on Sunday RFA. I've done a lot of surprisingly good personal records when someone happens to be watching, so that may work in your favor!
  22. I found Mortis' stuff very exciting matches-wise. Plus Mortis and Wrath had a bunch of really exciting tag matches, I remember liking their PPV match against Meng and Barbarian in '97. Based on those Kanyon could have done way more in the ring than his character allowed, which is kinda dumb, because he was "Innovator of offence", right? Then how come you didn't let him do all the cool shit he did as Mortis? He was grossly missused in WWF, but that goes for so many others at the time, so it's not like he would have been the only one. However, any and all talk about him being anything less than "good" in the ring is absolute bullshit! And Cena and Flair, how many moonsaults did you do? Right. So shut up!
