  1. This is going to be an intentionally vauge, useless post but I just crossed a certain threshold in the main story and holy fuck.
  2. Fallout 4 GOTY is 77% off at Fanatical. I grabbed it because Starfield reminded me I actually enjoy Bethesda's bullshit, a lot.
  3. Neon is great. I went there as part of Walter's quests because Stroud-Eklund is headquartered there and I ended up with like 6 quests just from walking around and people talking adding to the activities list. Also if you're into shipbuilding, Neon is your jam for the parts selection.
  4. Baldur's Gate 3 and Starfield (which has far more console players than PC) are 3/4 currently most played games on Steam and everything else in the top 10 is a free 2 play, except for GTA 5 which is just a perpetual money machine at this point. It's actually pretty crazy the two biggest releases of the year happened right on top of each other.
  5. A good website with basics for people switching from Unity from Unreal engine: https://impromptugames.com/movingtounreal.html
  6. The more I play this game, the more I want, like, all the perks.
  7. Honestly, as someone that has used Dead By Daylight as my "well, nothing new out I wanna play sooooo..." game for a while now, I'm stunned in general there hasn't been a big sci fi hit in that genre while we're at it. It's bizarre that game has managed to basically hold a monopoly for 7 years on a genre.
  8. I got one right away. I've had that potential activity staring at me for like 20 hours. :smug:
  9. Going to be honest I've totally avoided this game mainly because CDPR's fanbase is completely insane on social media, as much as anything else, but at least with 2.0 maybe I'd consider it on sale when I'm done with Starfield.
  10. I've legitimately never heard of this game until today. But yeah launching around the time of BG3, Starfield, and MK1 my hype meter can only pay attention to so many things.
  11. Something I didn't discover right away is that using the star map is often slower than just orienting your ship towards the blue quest marker dot and hitting the X button to fast travel without even pausing. It's also more immersive that way since you get the grav drive animation so hey ho. The lack of city maps is pretty strange. It's definitely a chore to keep all the vendor locations straight without them.
  12. MK1 is out in the pre order early access and it's pretty unstable on PC. I haven't got through a single online set without a crash, no joke. Well, the joke is I paid to play this, I guess. I'll stick to Starfield, the least buggy major release I've played in ages.
  13. My problem with the Blue Jays at this point is even if they rally to get into the postseason... so what? Does even the most delusional of Blue Jays optimists see this as a world series team at this point? Such a disappointing season. I really thought this might be our year.
  14. I honestly can't remember seeing the game industry as a whole so united in saying a move was a terrible idea. I've seen a number of indie devs say that even if the Unity team backtracks totally, it doesn't matter because they've demonstrated a willingness to change the deal on games that have already been launched and that makes them an untenable business partner.
  15. Honestly the more I play this game the better it gets. This game is everything I needed it to be.
  16. If your boss asks to see your phone the answer is no, how is this not basic union protection shit? The NHLPA is such a useless turd.
  17. I know people are all like "hurr Starfield look bad unga" but, like, I really like this screencap I got of Mars:
  18. Funny I haven't touched ship skills at all. My guy is big on persuasion, putting some points in the physical side too, and security. Pistols and lasers. Classic space rogue shit. I don't have a single point in the science tree yet, though I think whenever I do a second character I might to a more academic person. I'm in deep with this game now. I honestly don't know what people expected from Bethesda in space but I'm definitely getting what I wanted out of this. There are so many quests to do that I will definitely be busy for a very long time.
  19. Man I should have taken second rank in security 2 earlier but I'm only level 11 so it's not the end of the world.
  20. Without spoilers, I will say pushing the main quest past at least "Into the Unknown" is a good call. I'm in Freestar Collective space right now with Same Coe. Feels very much like the Fallout portion of the best-of-Bethesda tour and I am here for it. Honestly I love the vibe of this game. It's doing that time melting thing.
  21. Got into the ship editor tonight and managed to take the default craft and expand it in a way that I went from like 400 cargo capacity to 1300 without fucking with any of the default weapons or shields (which, granted, I'd probably like to upgrade someday). Basically I made my ship a lot longer so it's a little goofy looking but for 3X storage I cannot complain. Adding an extra 2X1 all purpose unit, and hanging cargo containers underneath it. You need a better grav drive at that point and added extra engines off the new 2X1 so it's not a space whale. Only cost me about 20K or so, not that bad. The locker in your room at the Lodge having infinite storage but not connecting to workbenches/traders like the ship's cargo hold has GOT to be one of the things going in the first patch, right?
  22. I've actually found digipicks pretty easy. There is a mod on Nexus that completely skips the minigame if it really bugs you though, to each their own. My feelings on Starfield really haven't changed much from the first few hours. Is the game innovative? Absolutely not. Does it feel like a best of Bethesda, but in space? Absolutely. Am I having a good time? Absolutely.
  23. Enjoying the game but I really don't think the game does a great job of explaining some of its own systems. Like, why have I picked up an extra follower but I can't "assign" them to my ship, but they're still in the ship anyway? Shit like this doesn't make a ton of sense. Loving the actual game though. It really does feel like an old school Bethesda game to me, warts and all, just in space. I missed this.
