  1. Is it not completely disingenuous and hypocritical of you to say this when you were the most vocal of detractors of WWE booking throughout the Bryan/Orton saga and most vocal supporter of Bryan winning the title and winning the title, like, right now (as in Night of Champions '13 and all the crappy B-level PPVs nobody watches where he got screwed over by the Authority)?
  2. Raziel, I thought you were cutting a Paul Heyman-esque promo earlier in this thread. Is he trolling Roman/Gregg or is he praising him?! OBVIOUSLY HE'S TROLLING! Wait, no, he's serious!? Gosh darn it! With all of this meta stuff, I don't know what means what anymore!
  3. I don't think I saw comment of this, apologies if somebody mentioned it previously, but for as bad as Bad News looked on his return, he was absolutely shredded last night. Has his physique ever been that defined?
  4. Man, I had to go back and see if I voted for Reigns or Cena. I so thoroughly enjoyed the Shield tags but at the same time understood Roman's position in them (not that it was insignificant, rather he wasn't doing the heavy lifting and was the most replaceable cog). I think the only thing that made it so close was Cena's time on the shelf. Cena had the Bryan SummerSlam match, the Cesaro Raw match, the great Sandow cash-in, ADR matches, and some other stuff I'm sure I'm forgetting. And, yeah, I voted Cena.
  5. Most on here have been pro Cena for a while now. I think it's pretty easy to disconnect John Cena the character from John Cena the in-ring performer. I feel like having Cena beat Rusev at the one show of the year where things actually matter is a massive mistake but I think it'll be a better match than last night's and could steal the show (not saying much with the forecasted lineup).
  6. The Reigns backlash pretty much started right away with the Orton feud, when his matches were bad and his promos stunk on ice. I think during this time, people expected them to change the plans and it was slightly shocking that they stuck with a guy struggling through his promos and being a bore with shit selling (don't have to be a good wrestler to be a good seller,) during his single matches. I was taken aback by the positivity coming out of this show on here. I watched at a friend's place and we thought it was awful from beginning to end. Goldust cut a fantastic promo, saying something along the lines he's going to beat Cody so bad he'll never want to put on the paint again. Then he goes out there and does the opposite. He was timid and there was no intensity in what he was doing. They went for the hamfisted, over-the-top "acting" match similar to what Cena and Wyatt did last year. The crowd wasn't buying any of it and the one jackoff yelling a slow "boooooo....riiiiiiiiing" that echoed throughout the arena was unfortunately accurate. The finishing stretch to Bryan/Reigns was fine but the majority of the match wasn't very good. Cena/Rusev wasn't bad but I had higher expectations. Halfway through the show, it became pretty darn clear that everything we're seeing was a set-up to WM or the next few weeks of Raw and it's pretty hard to get emotionally invested in matches when that's the case. It also sounded like there were more Bryan fans in the audience than Roman fans during the match. We were both caught off guard by that because Memphis is pretty traditional in its wrestling taste. And, yeah, I remember Orton having a really hot stretch of matches ranging from solid to great in that time frame Cristobal mentioned. The Cesaro match wasn't as good as Cesaro's match with Cena but it was still really good.
  7. We'll have to wait and see what Miocic looks like on the other side of a fight with Hunt first.
  8. I thought Wrestlemania was about the big match. Bryan vs. Brock is the big match. I don't know of anybody wanting to sit through Roman vs. Brock. Brock is many things but a guy to lead a huge main event match, he is not.
  9. On that note, how is Bill Watts' book for the hamfisted Christianity stuff? The title has me leery of giving it a shot, even if I'm very interested in Watts otherwise.
  10. Damn. I just started multiplayer and was doing okay with the Wraith. So much fun. I hated the idea of being the monster initially but now that I've got sneakin' around the map down, it's a blast and easily my preference.
  11. That was absolutely disgusting and makes me dislike Ibushi even more. The Nakamura 1/4 match kind of won me over but, gotdayum. How are you going to do that to another human being?
  12. In what way? I don't get the huge differentiation between men and women fighters. They're all fighters. And if we are going to differentiate, women's MMA is about well behind men's MMA in terms of depth of quality and saturation. You're much, much likelier to see women who have rudimentary skills in all but one aspect of fighting than you are with men. That's nothing against women, as men were the same way going back 10-15 years ago. I think that came off harsher than I intended it to. I'm just curious as to why people prefer women's MMA over the men. I've watched Invicta cards and enjoyed it. There are clearly some very talented young fighters in WMMA, but they have a lot of polishing to do. On the other hand, there were some awful, awful fighters that really shouldn't be in the "big leagues" of WMMA.
  13. They found time to criticize Christian's tan. It's WWE, mind you.
  14. Why the hell wouldn't you be the wraith? Also, I feel like Caira has the best set-up for an actual medic whereas Lazarus is the most aggressive build of the medics... So it's not all together very surprising that he's the favourite. Yeah, the lazarus glove is rad but it's high risk waiting for teammates to die before healing them. I've unlocked everything and am going to start playing more multiplayer and less solo but the AI was very impressive in solo mode and if I find multiplayer to be the drizzling shits, I have little concern in just sticking with solo other than games with my bud also plays. Outside of the wraith, the game seems very balanced and those stats back that up. Also, rescue seems to heavily favour the hunters (the wraith levels the playing ground though).
  15. Similarly, Toronto beat the snot out of Atlanta in Atlanta and beat them on their home court for the second time this year and taking the season series 3-1. Lou Williams reserves a special game for Atlanta it would seem. Also, Toronto's inside game and rebounding really takes advantage of the Hawks' weaknesses. Tony Parker was MIA last night and the Spurs had like 3 points from their backcourt well into the 3rd IIRC. They were still in the game at that point, so if Parker finds some form it'll be a lot more competitive. He ended up going 0-4 from the field.
  16. Nah, bro. Those short shorts were the best because they added to the dicketry that was HBK, special guest referee.
  17. I think what Matt D said about Neville giving meaning to his moves is what separates Adrian Neville from PAC or even Neville of a year ago, with his title matches against Kidd. He's so much better at telling a story with those moves and in-between those moves now than he was before and to people who appreciate that art of storytelling and psychology more than the ability to crisply execute physical feats, that goes a lot farther in terms of "being a great wrestler." He's grown so much and has become just about the perfect high flyer archetype over the past three or four months.
  18. Damn, that's awful. Shaq is so sensitive over the hack-a-Shaq strategy that Pop implemented on Jordan.
  19. Oh, God, yes! Beating the Rangers is the sweetest feeling. If there were one team I could pick the Canucks to beat in the finals in this magical scenario that will never happen, it would certainly be the Rangers.
  20. I'm so confused! I don't want Cole on the Pelicans, dammit! Haberstroh says he wouldn't be shocked if Miami goes after Blatche if they have the roster space. I think that would help them big time.
  21. Nah, he can stand in the corner and hit the 3s that Dragic was taking. Knight replaces Thomas. Cole rocking that sub .300 3PT%.
  22. Don't worry, the Sixers are going to draft an entire new team in 2016. More details on Suns/Heat trade from Woj: But Williams ends up going to the Pelicans. Man, NBA trades are so complex these days. At least it's better than the NHL where next to no trades happen.
  23. Cole to the Pelicans and Tayshaun Prince back to Detroit as well.
  24. Everything is happening. Prigioni to HOU, KJ McDaniels to HOU, ISAIAH THOMAS to BOS. lol, Woj: "Good lord." edit: Wow.
  25. But the Hawks are a sign of the way the league is changing. They're greater than the sum of their parts. They complement each other well and they play a fantastic system of basketball at both ends. Plus they have better depth. I don't see Miami winning 3 games in that series, should it happen. Yeah, Knight to PHX is awesome. They obviously needed another guard, dammit!
