  1. "MAKE SOME NOOOOOOIIIIIIIIISE!"
  2. Alexander Ovechkin, watch your back! Derek Dorsett be starring in The Sniper 2: Sniperer. What a sweet goal for him and a terrible idea to throw it up the gut by Rozsival.
  3. They are awesome human beings. Stop that. Ryan Miller is an overpaid shitbum update: so, after Miller went down with injury, Lack has logged a tonne of minutes and in 31 starts, Eddie's rocking a .919 SV%. In 41 games started, Miller has a .913 SV%. League average is .913 btw. Lack's cap hit: $1.3 million. Miller's cap hit: $6 million for another two seasons. Of course, as I'm typing this out, Chicago scores.
  4. Dallas has a 3.5% chance as it stands. I think we're safe for now. Plus, Seguin strikes me as an empty points type of guy. While his surface corsi numbers are good (53 CF%), his teammates generally have better numbers when not playing with Sequins. And he's a fucking dolt. See his comments about the Sedins. LA has a 1% chance. O_O ...
  5. Which would be Toronto but if only you could trade cash. I've been sympathetic to Leafites for a while. They're abused and taken for granted by that shitshow of an organization and deserve better. They ARE Canada's team, after all.
  6. Over something to do with the podcast and the network. Sketchy details to say the least but he was conspicuous by his absence at the HOF show.
  7. I actually kind of hope the Leafs get McDavid. They don't have that one guy to build around and Buffalo has Reinhardt. Also, Leaf fans have endured enough.
  8. Don't Starve is one of my favourite games of the past 5 years and was a freebie. I also thought Road Not Taken was excellent if not ridiculously hard after about level 7.
  9. That game wasn't an elaborate joke? The New Japan games were decent but couldn't hold a candle to the AKI games. I can't envision a world where Vine or 2K would okay missing out on millions every other year or even just once in order to put out a better product.
  10. Bryan vs. Ziggler from this week's Raw was better than any match from Fastlane. Terrific "I respect you bro --> fuck that, let's fight!" match with great pacing and execution.
  11. Was Angle's psychology always kind of shoddy and ridiculous or did it get way worse when he dropped the comedic aspects of his character in like... 2003ish? I remember him being fucking awesome from about 2000-2002 but I'm afraid of watching some of the highly touted matches. The Benoit WM X-7 match is a lot of fun in that you get to watch two guys try to outgrapple each other and it does have some psychology in Angle tending to take it to the next level sooner than Benoit. The Undertaker match from Fully Loaded 2000 kinda sucks but I was never much of a fan of that one. What about the Austin matches where Kurt plays Mr. America for heel Austin? I do remember not being terribly fond of the ultimate submission match back in the day. I don't go out of my way to watch Benoit matches, but your criticisms sound spot on.
  12. I don't know of anybody who has the fight network.
  13. Mark should've been their inspirational leader from the get go, man. They aren't using him in anything else, why the hell not? This should be a thing on our TVs twice a week, dammit!
  14. Yeah, but Kofi can be convincing! Somebody post that promo where he's talking about socioeconomics and shit! THIS ONE: And didn't Woods cut a really good pissed off promo before they were taken off TV and sent to the seminary?
  15. Isn't New Day's gimmick more offensive than three black guys who aren't happy with institutional racism (within WWE and society in general)? I mean, yeah, WWE would fuck that up of course, but I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with a less gimmicky, bad ass face version of Nation of Domination. I get that there's a strong antismark sentiment here but the crowd was pretty rad for good portion of the show. Then the divas tag happened. I did like how they rejected the main event. Kane and Big Show should not be anywhere near the top of the card in 2015. You have a ridiculously deep talent pool at your disposal and Kane/Big Show are what you stick with? Fuck that noise.
  16. I watched X-7 a few months ago and some it has aged poorly. We all love Eddie but that match with Test was a fucking disaster with no heat. There was a lot of fat on the card in order to get everybody their Mania payday. I still think the Austin heel turn could've worked if Rock were not leaving for Hollywood. Poor timing.
  17. It's pretty much the same thing but you can influence the direction of the hit with the left analog. I barely used the left analog and did fine with the Cubs against Wainwright on All Star difficulty. And I'm not very good at The Show.
  18. Though that doesn't seem to be a problem because of two things. He's Brock Lesnar and everything he does right now is special (doubly so because he is a part timer) and he's been booked so much stronger than anybody in WWE the past 20-30 years. He's no longer reliant on The Undertaker victory for aura. He's kicked everybody's ass he's been in there with since then. It would not do anything to taint Brock's legacy. Plus, they were clearly telling a story of Undertaker's diminishing physical state with him crawling around the ring and looking done for throughout the match. A Bray victory in part could be credited to the destruction job Brock did to him. Lesnar "broke" Undertaker. Bray needs protection and he hasn't received it (outside a few weeks to get him up to get back knocked down again by 'Taker) ever since the middle of the Cena feud. I can't imagine the reactions Undertaker would've gotten if he lost to Snuka and Jake in his first two Wresltemania matches. He wasn't a super worker back then and neither is Bray, so you need smoke and mirrors and the strong gimmick to get them over.
  19. The Show is pretty friggin' awesome. It feels like they've done a lot of small detail work that was missing in the past. Lots of bloopers into the shallow outfield, foul tappers, and the like. In general, the game feels like it's way less on "tracks" in terms of ball projection which is something that really irritated me. Even last year's title had better ball projection as a feature and it felt the exact same as '13. This year it's noticeably better and at a good level. Neat thing that happened in the one game I played: I hit a comebacker at a pitcher and he booted it in to the air. The third baseman charged it down, barehanded it (he actually almost caught it) and rifled it to first to get me out by a stride. Oh, and fielding is so much better with the new pop up indicator. You can't just run to the landing destination of the ball anymore. You track it in air like fielders do in real lifez. The ballparks look great this year too. I was pretty unimpressed with the graphics in last year's PS4 release but it appears that the parks and weather got a lot of work done. Wrigley looks really fucking good. Commentary is way better with a bunch of new lines. Only played the one game so far and it was with default sliders (contact 4 everyone!) but it was a good experience and the biggest in-game improvements from the previous year in quite some time. I'm broke and probably shouldn't have bought it but I don't really regret buying both baseball games this year. OOTP is something I buy every third year or so. I try to get the Show most years and while I was initially disappointed with the feature list, it feels good, man.
  20. Just in case anybody wanted to watch it over, and over, and over, and over again. I didn't even hear Book's instant classic "Not the guy you want to tick off, trust m... AAAAAH!" And by the time Michael Cole is pleading for his life, I was already marking the fuck out at the other stuff, I didn't hear that initially either. Cole makes this terrified, primordial helpless "BROCK!" yelp when he's up for the F5 and then screams on the way down. It's fucking perfect! The shoe is an iconic image in WWE history. They will release books and DVDs on that picture. The youtube clip totally edited out Heyman begging Steph to stop saying "put him (the camera man/local indie guy) down," as he knew Brock would listen.
  21. Ah, yes. I remember that one. Good, solid match. I prefer the RAW ode to ECW with Rollins but as far as straight up, no gimmicks, the Henry match is probably his best.
  22. I don't know, man. He was looking awfully good during the initial Rollins feud and it wasn't like he was being carried. He's not exactly Michael Hayes but there are issues. For one, his offense is getting pretty stale and while with WWE it seems like they want guys to have signature spots that are hit in every match, his spots either suck (Nigel's rebound lariat) or have lost their initial "wow" luster (the flying elbow/plancha). But even beyond that, he just seems like he's in a funk with timing and execution. His mannerisms are still unworldly, like when he hit Dirty Deeds (another issue, shitty finisher) and flailed around while crawling over for the cover, but he's been off for months. What's Dean's best singles match not against Seth Rollins (and they've had so many good singles matches going back to FCW)?
  23. It's what happens when they punish the outcome and not the act itself. That's the major issue I have with the system and it's been like that for years. Anyway, Canucks win, Flames win, Kings lose. C'mon Jets, also. So friggin' close!
