  1. I'm assuming Josh wasn't still doing the Yeti gimmick? Well since he was doing the Yeti thing before he started working there, they had to change it to the Wendigo.
  2. I mean Jesus Christ, I know the NFL wants milquetoast acts but there's inoffensive and then there's Coldplay. They make Kidz Bop look like Swedish Death Metal.
  3. Keep on Lovin' You and Sister Christian are better songs than anything Chris Martin could even have wet dreams about, let alone write.
  4. Listening to WOR here at work and I just heard my favorite Dave mixed metaphor. Instead of saying someone went "all out" or "balls to the wall," he combines them into "he went balls out." So it sounds like the person i question is just walking around with his nuts hanging out.
  5. LOL none of this shit is going to happen because neither Zayn nor Balor make Vince's dick hard the way Roman does.
  6. Will the Owens-Lensar program be predicated on Owens bringing back the F-Cinq as his finisher?
  7. Nah, it's journalism 101, because typically the headlines are written by someone else.
  8. I thought the urban legend was Luger was spending the night before SummerSlam telling everyone he was winning the title and that's why Vince didn't put the title on him and then came Rumble 94' where Bret was inadvertently being built up which lead to Bret getting a better reaction than Lex for the ending of Rumble 94'. Just an awful Scott Keith urban legend, no truth to it at all. Vince decided to hold off because the money was in the chase and when it was finally time to pull the trigger, fans had cooled on Luger and were more into Bret.
  9. The whole Reigns situation is amazing. So they decided not to put the belt on him yet because they were afraid he'd be booed. If you are afraid your chosen top babyface is going to be booed, maybe he's not cut out to be your top babyface. Remember when Vince shoved Luger down our throats but then changed course because he wasn't getting "top babyface" reactions? What happened to that Vince?
  10. Why wrestlers should never wear business casual: exhibits A - G
  11. Because of Lucha Underground, I saw a headline on CNN that started with "Pentagon has released a statement..." and all I could think of was this:
  12. Yeah guys sorry I made a baseless assumption rooted in what the case is in 90% of these shootings. Completely invalidates my point.
  13. Thanks, man. It's not worth debating anyway. If Sandy Hook didn't change anything, nothing ever will.
  14. Yeah let's worry about boogeymen like ISIS, illegal immigrants, refugees and black youth while angry white guys are already here and have all the guns they care to buy. That works.
  15. Crockett also had syndication in the 80s, not just TBS. I grew up in Baltimore and it was on at noon Saturdays and Sundays on one of the local UHF stations (channel 54).
  16. Maybe he's a lonely drifter who flits into town, does some odd jobs, comforts the local widow, and moves on?
  17. That's better, though the backbreaker portion of the combo looks weak as fuck. "I will lay you gently across my knee now."
  18. A few Winter premiere dates: Better Call Saul: February 15 Banshee: January 29
  19. I'm not sure how much scripting he does but it's been reported that he is the final word and will rip up a Raw script and have it rewritten last minute if he wants. Also, you have to remember his influence in the writers. They want to please him and keep their jobs so they'll write to his tastes. So the shit that pleases Vince is what drives creative as a whole. Answer to question 2: The Rock
  20. Oh man if The Drifter's gimmick is that local cops are always trying to pin unsolved murders on him, that would be gold.
  21. Well that was Vince 20 years ago, before he "defeated Ted Turner" and became a billionaire. Vince in the mid/late 90s achieved huge success once in his life and saw it disappear for the first time ever, so you can see how he could be unsure of himself back then. Vince in 2015 came back to be bigger than ever and I think any humility he had is long gone. I mentioned that in the Raw thread, but it fell on deaf ears. It's about The Brand and having a megastar would mean having to accommodate him/her in their minds. This seems pretty obvious. That's exactly it. He's following the NFL model where the goal is to make nobody bigger than the league itself. Every boom period featured big names who had Vince over a barrel and he doesn't want to get in that position again, even if avoiding that means smaller stars and less success. We've seen every entertainment medium become safe and risk-averse. It was only a matter of time before wrestling followed suit.
