  1. I think Alvarez said it, but it bears repeating. The cruiserweight division worked in WCW because 1) traditional "heavyweights" actually were bigger then and 2) the style was radically different form the rest of the roster. Today, "heavyweights" are smaller, if they're not just outright cruiserweights like Balor. How much bigger than the biggest guy on 205 Live is Sami or Seth? And the heavyweights wrestling a more "cruiserweight" style, too. When the only difference is, "well, these guys might be a little lighter," then what's the point?
  2. I read a story the other day stating that, in light of all this, men in various fields (tech bros and finance dbags, especially) are making noise about how they're going to avoid women at work in an attempt to dodge being accused of harassment. Jesus tapdancing Christ. If they're not just being punitive and you take what they're saying at face value, guys like this must be most maladjusted dumbfucks imaginable. If you're a guy and you're worried about something you say or do being "misconstrued as harassment," that means the things you typically say or do must be pretty fucking dumb. Here's how you treat women in the workplace, chucklefucks: like people. Not like at set of tits. Not like a prospective date. Not like the chick you jacked it to on Pornhub last night. Being worried over "accidental harassment" means you literally have no idea how to deal with women as human beings and probably shouldn't leave the house.
  3. This. Paltrow and Jolie coming out now rings so shallow and so absolutely craven. Both are powerful, have been for years. Either could have brought this shitstorm down on him years ago with no recourse. Now it just strikes me as a gross attempt to garner attention. Now they get to be the public faces of this thing instead of McGowan, whose career was actually ruined.
  4. Prichard is just another in a long line of carnies keeping their options open. Just like every other ex-WWE employee who talks the talk about "I can say whatever I want (on a podcast or wherever) because I have no plans on ever going back there," he's just a mark who would rush back to "New York" in a heartbeat if the old man deigned to call him. That's one reason I stopped listening to his show. It was painfully obvious we'd never get the full truth on anything that could be damaging or overly critical of McMahon.
  5. And the lunatics that run the company won't book them on separate brands or in storyline relationships with other people just to fuck with them.
  6. He looks like Walt Jr.
  7. I'd forgotten that Jay Thomas had an occasional recurring role on Ray Donovan, so it was weird and creepy seeing him playing the show's version of Harvey Levin on last night's episode, looking really gaunt in what was probably his last role.
  8. "Keith Lee vs hilariously smaller guy" is always a winner.
  9. Seriously. Maybe focus more on making one good movie and less on planning sequels, a trilogy, quadrilogy, shared universe, or any of the other long term cash grab bullshit. Hollywood execs are such a risk-averse, greedy bunch. "Everybody in Hollywood wants to be the second person to do something" is one of the greatest truisms I've ever heard about the industry. All these guys want to get rich following the Marvel model but none of them understand that you need to build on quality films first, not just quantity.
  10. Does this mean Evolve is closing down? Where will I go for dope-ass lockups now?
  11. Javier Escuela. No idea. But Dutch looks a lot younger here, too. I'm guessing gang membership was fluid and this is much earlier than the events of the first game. Hell, John Marston isn't really confirmed yet. It could very well be that overlap is minimal.
  12. That's a lot of midgets
  13. The obvious half-assed voiceover accidentally worked really well, IMO. It gives him the uninterested, world-weary tone of a film noir detective. And Blade Runner is just a sci fi version of a noir detective film, so it's kismet.
  14. He probably knew his lockups weren't up the Gabe's standards and left the company to avoid embarrassment.
  15. LOOOOL exactly "You can't fight on hotel grounds. It's a death sentence." (tries to kill John Wick on hotel grounds) (is executed)
  16. I had to send this to a coworker for...reasons. It's mesmerizing; you can't just watch it once. Also, god damn. No wonder the guy's hip was shot by the mid 90s and he just started shoot hitting the elbow instead.
  17. Exactly. The way Gabe says it and the way Regal said it are worlds apart. Gabe really came off like a guy who took one nitpick and spun it into a full on criticism of the whole show. I just hope PWG's next show is called LOCKUP
  18. LOOOOOL at this sad little man, whose 15 minutes of dubious fame as the top indy promoter ended over a decade ago, throwing some shade at the current top indy in the country. I just watched the BOLA night 3 preview. There's a full minute preview of Donovan Dijak vs Keith Lee where the fans are losing their shit and their brains are melting at what they're seeing. I doubt any of them said to themselves during all that insanity, "this is nice and all, but where are the sweet collar and elbow tieups?"
  19. I don't know. Considering the prevailing opinion here, the Young Bucks would give both a run for their money. As a horribly negative person, I'm looking forward to the hater's ball tournament.
  20. I'm hoping it's also against flag code to wear a flag as clothing, especially every article of clothing. I saw footage of Trump supporters showing up in DC a few weeks ago looking like Sandman or Love Machine Art Barr with no sense of irony. #MAGA!
  21. Don't forget, we only have these huge flag-waving spectacles with soldiers on the filed and all this other shit because the armed forces pays for them as a recruiting tool.
  22. I don't think "Bradley Cooper directing" vs "Bradley Cooper in a voiceover role that people outside the fanboy bubble don't even think about" is considered him competing with himself on any level. I don't think anyone's going to look at both films and make hard choices based on Bradley Cooper's offscreen involvement. Damn, I forgot about the female Ocean's 11 film, which feels like it's been in the can for years now.
  23. I just read tat America's Got Talent was renewed for a 13th season. Jesus Christ. I mean, it's not surprising, but still. I watched a season or two when Stern was hired to be a judge because I like his radio program, but, seeing buts and pieces of AGT now, I feel like a moron for ever getting fleeced by this dumb show. It's absolutely a work, start to finish. It hit me when I saw the judges freaking out over a mentalist act, and I said, "why are they surprised by this guy? It's the same act from back when I used to watch." The it hit me, it's the same acts every damn year and every year they act just so amazed and blown away. And it's a fucking sob story vignette before every act. God damn I hate TV. Burn it all down.
  24. All it wold take is a case of Coors Light and some pork rinds and Tim Storm would totally show up on NXT and drop that belt in the trash.
