  1. Thanks! I like how they're just like, "fuck it, we'll do an ASW whenever we have a building and enough people!"
  2. When is ASW 12? I was really confused by all the mentions of ASW since they just had an ASW in December.
  3. As somebody said, that's not Negan. Negan's going to be played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, which should be great. I HIGHLY doubt Negan will kill any main character the way he killed (this space intentionally left blank) in the comics because the backlash, both to the victim and the way it was done, would be insane. That scene was legitimately disgusting, worse than anything the show has ever done. They're doing Carl's effects on the cheap. In the comics, he loses his eye and a chunk of his skull, but they'd need to greenscreen his face on every episode forward which would probably be cost prohibitive.
  4. It's on this weekend, dudes. I hear somebody's gonna die.
  5. I've been thinking about that, paired with what I and others said earlier about how certain things are too close and shouldn't lead to ejection. If the league really wants to do "2 personal fouls and you're out," then they need new classifications for penalties. Talib trying to unscrew that guy's head like he was looking for Pez is not in the same ballpark as bumping into into a QB two steps too late. They'd need a new category for the really egregious, obviously-awful stuff and just eject guys for that. Shit, I'd be for one-and-done instead of two penalties if they were redone along these lines. If throwing a punch is an automatic ejection, certainly trying to remove another man's head is, too.
  6. One sad side effect of Sami Zayn unmasking is the unfortunate lessening in cape quantity in wrestling. RIP never 4get
  7. Not only that, some of those big hits over the middle are just two really fast people running towards each other. We like to say that the DB was head hunting, when in reality he'd have to be super human to be able to aim his hit accurately at that speed. If they start tossing people for what Aqib Talib did in the Super Bowl, I understand, but if they start tossing people for things outside of their control I don't understand. Exactly. That and the personal foul calls that wouldn't have been personal fouls had the receiver or runner not lowered his own helmet. In the end, the refs just can't be relied on to make correct calls, so why have a rule where a guy can get tossed from a game because of it?
  8. When personal foul = D lineman swats at a pass, misses and glances Tom Brady's helmet, then Brady cries enough that the ref throws a flag just to stop the temper tantrum, this is a bad rule.
  9. Maybe Julie drank the wrong orange juice back in the day.
  10. Did anyone explain the Blake, Murphy & Alexa's Freddy Kruger cosplay? Was it a belated Wes Craven tribute?
  11. You're correct, that was poorly worded. Who she's sleeping with absolutely matters, though. Did Delirious fire him because of his own relationship with Leon? Would the punishment been as severe had the victim been another female worker? Delirious' alleged relationship muddies the waters and this is why you don't carry on a relationship with subordinates. Christ, I learned that shit on day 1 sexual harassment training (I'm a manager at my company). Even if nothing improper is going on, it looks bad for so many reasons. Not the least of which is the appearance, right or wrong, that the subordinate has to carry on the affair because their job is on the line. That's the business-side argument. Morally speaking, all job stuff aside, Delirious has no right to take the high ground with regard to respecting women when he's disrespecting the one who he's in a existing relationship with. Again, that's if, and a very big IF, this is even true.
  12. If my boss fired me for getting fresh with his sidepiece, I'd elect to go with the nuclear option, too. You have no moral high ground when you're fucking around on somebody. Obvious disclaimer: this ref could be full of shit. But if not, nobody in this situation looks good.
  13. I'll never forget that Rusty Brooks was the designated jobber when Hogan made a rare syndicated TV appearance, setting up his first program with Savage. Elizabeth was pretty good on the mic, too. "The Macho Man has asked me to ask you, mister Hulk Hogan, why you don't wrestle anybody with any credentials." I just watched it and damn, I did forget that it was so long ago that it was before the red and yellow and Hogan was still using Jim Steinman's instrumental theme.
  14. Mania 26, Vince vs Bret. About 10:50 in, Kidd and DBS Jr hit a super Hart Attack and Vince's head bounces off the outside mat pretty bad.
  15. Dynamite, Benoit, Danielson...all smaller guys who did crazy shit to compensate for their lack of size. Hopefully wrestling is slowly becoming less of a big man's game (Vince's eventual departure would hasten this) and smaller guys will become more of the norm and not feel the need to kill themselves to stand out.
  16. Tanked has been hot garbage ever since they switched to "all celebrities, every episode."
  17. I know that's Blackjack Mulligan in the red, but who's botching the leapfrog? I'm assuming the other 2 are just random jobbers. Blackjack Mulligan & Dan Spivey defeated Salvatore Bellomo & Tiger Chung Lee at 3:55 when Mulligan pinned Lee with a flying back elbow (3/10/87; Dayton, OH; Hara Arena) So in case you are keeping track: Spivey was brought in to replace Mulligan's son in a team with Mulligan's son-in-law but then ended up teaming with Mulligan himself after Mulligan's son-in-law left the company, too.
  18. Well since Vince's first choice was a headbutt, they should be applauded for showing at least some restraint.
  19. I read on Kotaku that this game is pulling in hundreds of millions every quarter. God damn.
  20. That's a great idea because one thing that makes wrestling so monotonous is that it never ends. If there were short, alternating seasons like that, I'd be much more invested, knowing that they're building to something, as opposed to the endless cycle of just getting to the next week that we have now. Oh look, Owens vs Ziggler again.
  21. He has that agreement but he's already forgotten about it. Now I'm imagining Dreamer tatted up with "close the refrigerator door," "October 12, 2002" and "don't trust Raven" inked on him a la Memento.
