Nikki's ass attack almost makes sense given that she took time in a promo at some point in the last couple weeks to call attention to her voluptuous derrière (her words, not mine; don't shoot the messenger, I generally keep my perving to myself). Almost. It's actually light years away from amazing. When a guy gets hot, he rises up the card. When he rises up the card, perennial headliner and face of the business John Cena will be there waiting for him. Some guys stay at the top of the card. Some guys drop back down. It's the name of the game. But the conspiracy theory put forth by so many that Cena gets in the orbit of these guys so he can leach their heat and cast them aside never rang true to me. Cena's been cool with the mixed reactions for years and knows his place is safe. The idea that he's so insecure that he'd try to sabotage the Zack Ryders of the world is absurd. I got many a laugh last year when people pulled out the mental gymnastics to explain how Cena saving Bryan from the wrath of Ryback is akin to a burial (after Bryan's third match of the night no less).

No such footage exists because Dean didn't pull a John McClaine. He pulled an Andy Dufresne. He'll see Seth in hell before he sees him in Reno! Okay. Now I'm going to bed!

There are people out there who're still stuck in the fox hole they dug way back in 2006. They'll be spending their night on the internet complaining about John Cena latching onto another hot act in a desperate attempt to usurp their heat. They are not dead. They are not satisfied. But I'm going to bed. Because I am satisfied.

This talking point feels so last year. I expect positivity from you, Gregg. Why you gotta hurt me like that? Haha! I agree that the woman's division has improved dramatically. Nikki was REALLY good last night. Dare I say she wrestled like early heel Cena? Naomi also is pretty decent. Nattie was really good in NXT and I went from hating her to really enjoying her work. Her good-nature really propelled Tyson Kidd into becoming one of the best dickheads in recent memory. But then you have Cameron and Eva Marie... My only problem with woman's division is that there's still some stuff missing from a lot of the woman. The reason why I love AJ as a worker is because she's a really good with facial expressions and the little things that matter -- a well-timed snarky skip, a condescending smirk, etc. She does that really well in the ring. She's also figured out a way to work with her limitations. She's so friggin' tiny and doesn't have the athleticism to do aerial moves. But she's developed herself as someone clever/sneaky in the ring. Her kicks are believable and I really like the Black Widow finisher. She's also light years beyond Nikki and Brie (for example) on the microphone. I know that's not really saying anything, but AJ has been really good for a really long time. Maybe her act isn't for everybody, but she does her act well. (Which is also my pro-CM Punk and Cena arguments: Maybe people don't like the actual act, but they perform their act really well.) But, yes, kudos to the woman's division for not being a total waste of time in the ring lately. To speak more of Natty, I've been to quite a few house shows over the last couple years. She kills it at live events. Love her. Cameron and Naomi are easy targets, but I hardly think they're worth mentioning. It's not as though they're regularly carted out with the expectation that they'll be working lengthy quality matches. They're Khali-esque non-factors. And yes, AJ's exactly as good as you say. But at the same time, her act is grating on me. That line between crazy and weird (or something like that) was talked about earlier in regards to Ambrose. I'd say AJ is firmly on the wrong side of that line right now. And her Punk-like smugness as though she thinks she can do no wrong just makes it all the harder for me to swallow. But I can see how people would like her. As for the Bellas on the mic, I have no interest in defending them. They're shite. I love them in the ring, but they lose me when they speak. Speaking of the divas not being total wastes in the ring, Emma and Alicia Fox had a couple good matches on Superstars recently. Thank goodness for Main Event and Superstars when it comes to quality, under-the-radar divas action. To put a bow on this: Divas division: Not as bad as people think!

Has piranesi explained the origins of Ambrose's new shirt? Because I'm eager to hear the story about how won it in a game of Jenga against a hobo who resembles Michael Chiklis.

Glad to see Nikki getting some praise in this thread. The Bellas have been woefully unappreciated in the ring for a long time. Especially Nikki. Between those two, Natty, Naomi, and Summer, I don't understand why so many people feel the need to belittle the in-ring bonafides of the Total Divas crew. I suppose not having a tonne of NXT hype aside from Summer and Natty has hurt the collective. And then there's the "too cool for school" thing AJ seems to have going for her in the eyes of many. Bottom line: Paige and AJ aren't the only two women on the main roster worth watching. I wish more people could see that. This talking point feels so last year. I expect positivity from you, Gregg. Why you gotta hurt me like that?

TNA Impact Wrestling Spoilers for 9/18
John from Cincinnati replied to DreamBroken's topic in FEDS JUST TRYING TO MAKE A BUCK
Taz and Tenay hyping the calender gets funnier every week. The way they're pushing this thing, you'd think the future of TNA hinged on its success. Batten down the hatches! -

Aside from a brief slump early in season three, Lost was great from beginning to end.

I think that's why I love Corino in ROH right now. He's funny and he heels occasionally, but it doesn't kill the show. He does what JBL and Saxton should be doing.
-
People constantly rag on Renee for the RVD-Neville match, but that was one match. That's forgiveable. Consistently, Saxton's heeling is a far bigger detriment to stuffing instead of potatoes.

While we're enjoying these pics of the new guys who're coming in, let's all take a moment to appreciate some of our current favourites: And here's a picture of Mojo training his taint:

Since I see Neville being called up, I expect a heel to sneak in and take it tonight. Sami's a sympathetic top babyface and there's still steam left in him chasing. Given that the guys they've thrown the belt on thus far are people they see main roster potential in, I think that locks it up for Breeze. Kidd would be the more interesting champ for me, but I don't think they want to give him that spotlight over Breeze. I suspect Kidd is seen as a developmental lifer or a utility guy. Source: I'm talking out of my ass.

Recap for the new kid on the block? Tons of love for the first hour or so because it was near perfect but some like to forget that the movie wasn't only an hour long.. I like that extra period you used. Says you know shit's about to be on.
