Brooks isn't very good but Takayama does Takayama things so it balances out. Also, Damo works for WXW now, and continues to be amazing in any setting. Brooks isn't very good but Takayama does Takayama things so it balances out.Need to check this match out when I've got time, but I'm pretty high on Brookes. He's a really convincing condescending arsehole heel with no redeeming features, and it's always fun to see him dickishly work body parts. He had a hardcore match vs Tyler Bate at the end of last year that was superb, and ended with him hanging Bate over the top rope with a bike lock. Plus he's got really great merch.I'm going to go all "Jim Ross on the Big Show" here, but Big Damo is absolutely amazing to see live. He's a fucking tank, just looks unstoppable. Weirdly though, like Conners, I'm not sure I've seen him work heel, certainly not overtly like you describe. I'm thinking I should go see SWE shows since they're less than half an hour away and Damo works for them, Joe Hendry and Nikki Storm too. They're running a big show this summer at the Caird Hall, which I don't think has hosted wrestling since way back when. While I'm here - big lad tag team action. A new promotion has set up near my hometown, so I checked out this match to see if it's worth going to their next show. Based on this, I'd say yes. Aside from really liking the whole set up and lighting, this is a really fun match. Really dig the armwork by Starz and there's a nice spell where both guys really lay in the blows.
