Jingus
Whatever happened to Kid Kash, anyway? He's still working the indies, far as I know. He's one of those half-crazy guys whose boisterous natures made them more legendary for soap opera drama than for in-ring stuff. Which is a damn shame, considering how good he was at his peak. I like AJ. He's not perfect; he's a follower, not a leader. Needs an intelligent wingman to say "fuck off, Russo, that's a terrible idea" or "fuck off, Low-Ki, that's a terrible spot". This is why he tends to do his best work in scrambles and tags and three-ways and such, where other people can dream up some practically-impossible video game spot and AJ is all "...betcha I could jump off the top rope and land THERE". And he's also refreshingly able to do different things than just flying: he's a damn fine blood-feud brawler, he's a damn fine comedic heel stooge, he's just the glue that held everything that wasn't already held together with duct tape in TNA. Yeah, he's bad on promos; but some guys just can't talk. Whaddya gonna do? They tried practically every gimmick/personality under the sun to give AJ some extra oomph, but he wasn't any good at selling most of that kind of gaga and he really didn't need it anyway. For sheer athleticism and consistency, he's basically TNA's answer to Rey Misterio; except that AJ is juuuust big enough that he could turn heel too. And I've got so many different individual humorous AJ Styles stories that I'd barely even remember half of the damn things. AJ isn't the smartest guy in the business, and he often sets himself up for way too much tomfoolery. One night after a TNA show, Scott Hall apparently locked AJ in his sights for an all-night rib-athon. Time has sadly eroded my memory of the various easy punchlines that Hall rained down upon this poor kid, but one exchange does stand out in my memory: Hall: "Oh, hey AJ, y'know recently I've been talking to a lot of the boys in New York. And hey, guess who asked about you?" Styles:(legit excited) "Who?" Hall: "...nobody." (general laughter from surrounding wrestlers) Jerry Lynn: "What, not even Crash Holly? (All-important addendum: at that time, Crash had stolen the Styles Clash and was using it to pin forgotten jobbers on unwatched Saturday shows.) Hall: "Oh yeah, Crash did say something. He said to watch how he did the move and learn how to do it right." (Uproarious laughter from surrounding wrestlers)

Brian Fowler
I really think Kash could have been a big cruiserweight star if WCW hadn't, you know, folded a week or two after they signed him. Man, now I want to rewatch his short WWE run. (Oh, and I've always liked, but never loved Styles. When he's the lesser half of two guys in a match, it's usually a good affair.)
