  1. So you guys liked the trailer. Because I don't. I didn't even know what I was watching. And by that I mean it just looked like some fan-made trailer filled with a lot of bullshit some Jedi cosplayer thought would be cool, like fucking soccer droids and light saber cross guards, but just would up looking like they were trying way too fucking hard. Even the setting we're seeing. Is that Tattooine? Jesus Christ, enough with Tattooine.
  2. Zayn being pro-Palestine instantly makes me like him a LOT less.
  3. Words can't express the sheer glee I have at LeBron losing. And not just the Hest losing. But getting demolished and embarrassed. This finals was just a Spurs revenge fantasy for last year executed perfectly.
  4. Thank god. Maybe now some of you will stop being wet on this guy, thinking he'll finally break through and become the next big WWE champion. He was there for years. It was never going to happen.
  5. Finally, someone has challenged DVD's utterly bizarre and unjustified love of Drew McIntyre.
  6. Who ever thought otherwise? That's a film that says Important Things about race, and Hollywood wants YOU mouth breathers to know that.
  7. Ha ha. I gave up on that a looooooong time ago.
  8. Forget it, Reggie's spoilered sig gif is the best thing in this thread.
  9. It's a steaming pile of shit and would be the worst thing on TV, if Newsroom did not exist.
  10. If there's one act I'd like to see banished to the graveyard of 2013, it's Macklemore. Him and Imagine Dragons.
  11. Man, I got so put-off by the second movie, I never even bothered with the third or fourth. I thought the second film was fine, up until the end, which was so absurd that I literally laughed out loud in the theater when I saw it.
  12. I miss being able to listen to Burning Hammer. And that line about Phil is hilarious, and probably true. Goodhelmet had a voice I wasn't expecting. Just the right amount of grizzle to his bass tones.
  13. It's probably futile at this point, but damn, I wish they'd give him just one more run.
  14. Absolutely. And, really, after some of the really egregiously shitty work he's done in the comic book industry, what Kevin considers to be great or amazing really gives me pause and makes me think it's probably just a bunch of horseshit. I really want to like SHIELD and for it to improve. But really, it's never been anywhere near as good as Arrow is and has consistently been. Not that Arrow is an incredible comic book adaption or anything, but it does things pretty well and is entertaining, all things considering.
  15. With Breaking Bad gone... Orange is the New Black might just be the best show out there. That's not even remotely true. It's not even the best "Netflix exclusive" show.
  16. Is Dory wearing a mini-skirt?Naw man, culottes.
  17. If you look at what has been done, continued, and ESCALATED since 2008, you really shouldn't.Awwww fuck, I just made this topic worse. Sorry everyone. Why apologize? It's factual that not only has the current administration continued war-on-terror practices such as drone strikes, but has significantly EXPANDED them, and actually tried to argue that it was perfectly acceptable to use such drone strikes on AMERICAN soil (before Rand Paul's filibuster earlier in the year shamed them into retracting that argument). Oh, and remember how Gitmo was supposed to close? Yeah? Yeah. Marvel has done good job, though, of making Cap fairly apolitical in his film adaptions.
  18. I like this season better than the last half of season 2. But yes, it's rough to care about many of these characters? What reason should we root for Carrie? At the end of the day, she IS a manic depressive prone to noncompliance with medication and manic swings with paranoia, who lied about that to the CIA for years, and ultimately fell in love with someone she KNOWS is a terrorist, and she is STILL defending him.
  19. Bullshit. Dems / Obama refuse to negotiate on the shutdown (even to delay Obamacare - portions of which Obama HIMSELF already delayed, when it's extremely questionable from a legal perspective he has the authority to do). That's not how it works. You can't expect the opposition party to bend over and let you fuck them up the ass for nothing, not making ANY concessions at all. Unless you think that people will just erroneously blame ONLY the GOP for this, and have a friendly media to help perpetuate that. Which seems to be their game plan. But if that's your plan, please never act as if you give a fuck about bipartisanship or give me this business about how it's only one party being obstructionist.I mean, these fucking idiots barricaded the WW2 memorial and refused to let WW2 veterans enter it.....even though it's an open space memorial and is open 24/7 anyway. I live down the street from it. The only reason to barricade it is pure theatrics.
  20. It's OK -- the stupid people in this world are the ones to blame for this mess. You talk to the Tea Party Assholes (which is a great name for a band) and they froth at the mouth about Obamacare. Casually mention that they would be able to have any dependents under the age of 26 on their health insurance and they are like "really? that's pretty good." Then mention that it's because of Obamacare. You act as if stupid people on BOTH sides aren't to blame for this.People, for example, still have this preciously naive notion that Obamacare is going to reduce costs and work fabulously. And I'm unemployed now for this fucking bill. Outstanding.
  21. I was allowed to come in for 4 hours to "wind down" work, but after that, I'm on unpaid vacation. I wouldn't fucking care, if I knew for sure that they'd eventually give me back pay once they figure this funding shit out. I'm actually an efficient and productive worker, so if they WANT to lose man-hours and have work get backlogged because of this nonsense, fine. I'm not choosing to be off. But in this shitty economy, in a political climate where there's not much love for federal employees, I'm not taking it for granted that they're going to give me retroactive pay. Which is scary, because I'm not in a financial situation where I can just survive with losing a chunk of my yearly salary and I live in an area of the country where cost of living is egregiously high.
