  1. A little more of a balanced list but again I don't think the #1 pick is the GOTG. Especially since if it weren't for the game at #14 and its success, the #1 pick wouldn't exist. To me, the game at #15 should be GOTG since every game after it is described as "_____"-like.
  2. Even though Destiny looks like Borderlands but really serious, I think it'll be really great. And you know there's going to be a Destiny 2 & 3 in the next five years.
  3. I already had Mass Effect Trilogy for PS3 so getting the DLC was a no brainer. Although I apparently am no longer a member of Team LeeRoy Jenkins on Xbox 360.
  4. WTF did they do to his arms? Did he take a 12-hour shower?
  5. Fuck the heat and humidity in Atlanta. If you feel like you can't eat because it's burning up from outside, it's either you or the heat is that bad.
  6. I ended up buying Watch_Dogs today. When I'll get around to it, who knows. I guess I could work backwards and do the online multiplayer first then do the main game later.
  7. More than likely, it's because KH3 is still early in development and we'll hear news about Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix for PS3 in the fall.
  8. I'll be at work during the E3 streams, but there has been an awful lot of 'leaks' so far this time. I have a hard time believing half of them. Supposedly, Sony/FROM Software's "Project Beast" has parts of a trailer leaked, but who knows. What I hope to see from E3 this year: MGS V The Phantom Pain release date More about Uncharted PS4 More about The Order 1886, including release date GTA V Special Edition for PS4/XB1 in the fall Mass Effect 4, Fallout 4 and Red Dead Redemption II/Red Dead Resurrection (that would be my guess for the title) More about No Man's Sky Bayonetta 2 release date (it's rumored to be in August in Japan, so Oct/Nov NA release?) Pie in the sky/it'll never happen: Beyond Good & Evil 2 Shenmue III Half-Life 3 (coming to Steam Machines/PS4/XB1!!) F-Zero for Wii U (forget Mario Kart 8, this is the game I'll get for Wii U) Metroid Prime Wii U game
  9. I'll probably get Watch_Dogs before the end of the week, but my desire will diminish as Gamespy comes to an end. If there's a lot of online trophies, I may not be as interested. I still want to Platinum Killzone: Shadowfall & Knack first.
  10. Cave Story is the greatest love letter to the SNES/Genesis generation IMO. Every time I play Cave Story, it's Saturday morning, I'm 12 and I'm in my pajamas eating Lucky Charms.
  11. Got one more online trophy in GTAIV before a (possible) server shutdown on May 31st. I'm hoping that the stats aren't reset when Gamespy goes down.
  12. Part of me want to empathize with him (especially given my many tales of complaining about women and doing crappy on dates), but seriously fuck Elliot Rodger. He just needed to do him and not worry about impressing other people. Find your own happiness and what makes you a productive, healthy, happy person. It's obvious he could write very well -- write for a blog, write fiction, write anything. Find an outlet. The dude was rich -- he could have just asked his parents for money for a house in another state. He could have developed a hobby or found a group of people that 'got' him and hung out with them. I understand where he would come from (seriously, fuck stuck-up snobbish rich people), but....he needed to use his damn brain. He's one of them too. Chill out. If he doesn't like them, go somewhere else and don't worry about them. A lot of his problems were on him and not on them.
  13. I almost get the sense from having played Gears 2 that they built multiplayer first and didn't have any idea what to do for the campaign until the last minute. Gears 3 had a more solid campaign and better multiplayer (although not as good as Gears 2's).
  14. Gears of War is indeed one of the most perfect games from this past gen. But like a lot of games this past gen, its sequel just wasn't that great and was a bit of a letdown. Gears of War 3 I thought was incredible though. I hope that if there is a Gears of War Xbox One game (being developed by Black Tusk, although they really should have been allowed to work on their own IP), I hope they do what was done with Infamous: Second Son and introduce a new set of characters dealing with the same threat as the past iterations.
  15. I thought it was better than Captain America: Winter Soldier. Winter Soldier started out as a full-on Bourne movie (which I dug completely) but turned into a Big Dumb Action Movie. The action setpieces in DOFP made logical sense because of the past movies and First Class and fit very well.
  16. I was so happy to see My theory about Also, showing people vomiting in the movie was poor form. Way to make me not lose my popcorn! And Avengers Age of Ultron can't live up to DOFP Quicksilver for me.
  17. I'm happy with the #1 & #2 games, but even I would argue that the #3 game is too high. It's a top 20 for sure, but I think it's too early to say it's the 'best of the generation.' And Minecraft in the top 10? Even more overrated than LIMBO. I'm also confused by the #16 & #14 games' placement. They are great even exceptional, but the story for those games take a nosedive towards the end.
  18. Valkyria Chronicles - A charming SRPG that every PS3 owner should have. I don't care if it doesn't have trophies. Folklore - Another overlooked RPG as well. I REALLY need to play through this. Heavenly Sword - God of War clone where you can't jump, but very surprising game. Enslaved: Odyssey to the West - Also from Ninja Theory, it's got elements of Uncharted and Prince of Persia and did the 'lush floral post-apocalypse' that The Last Of Us did. Shadows of the Damned - Suda 51/Mikami did this RE4 style game that is oppressive and bleak but has lots of interesting ideas if you can get past certain areas (TASTE MY BIG BONER!) Darksiders - Zelda clone that is very long but one of the best first games I've ever seen. Just Cause 2 - One of the more fun open world games. Sleeping Dogs - A man who don't eat pork bun is not a whole man. Great game.
  19. Excitebots Trick Racing - So much better than Excite Truck it's not even funny. Baroque - I don't fully understand this game at all. I've played it numerous times and I think I 'beat' it but I'm not sure. Lost In Shadow - 2.5D platformer that feels like an homage to ICO & Shadow of the Colossus. Also Hudson's last game before they became part of Konami.
  20. I have a few to pimp: Eternal Sonata - JRPG about the dream world created by Frederic Chopin as he lies on his deathbed. Some of the cutscenes are VERY long (like half an hour or more long), but the battle system, the overall story, and the soundtrack make this great. Better than some Tales games. The Darkness - Has Mike Patton. Honestly, what else do you need? A very competent FPS with lots of interesting sections although the gameplay isn't that sharp at times. Prey - Although the backgrounds in game sorta blur, this is a great FPS from the early days of the 360. Dark Sector - It looks like Resident Evil 4, it feels like Resident Evil 4, but it's not. Charlie Murder - Scott Pilgrim style beat 'em up.
  21. I understood the point of spec ops the line and understood that its premise and gameplay was turning now shooter tropes on its head. But the gameplay in Spec Ops The Line is very average and almost bland. I did earn a Platinum in the game, so maybe that effected my overall experience with the game.
  22. IGN is doing a Game of the Generation list and it's pretty much a 'clickbait' list. Among the more bewildering things: Halo 3 at 82 and Halo 4 at 28. Tomb Raider (2013) & BioShock Infinite cracking the top 40 (along Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved being ahead of both warms my heart). Dark Souls not even in the top 20. NO VALKYRIA CHRONICLES? NO FIRE EMBLEM AWAKENING? LIMBO being in the top 40 even though it's an overrated piece of shit 'game.' Out of This World it ain't. I loved Spec Ops: The Line but it has no business being on the list.
  23. Finally got "Fly The Co Op" trophy for Grand Theft Auto IV. Holy fuck is "Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic" ridiculous. At least over 100 things to complete to unlock a bronze trophy (or 10G if I were doing this on Xbox 360). And then $5,000,000 for Wanted trophy. Someone at Rockstar must have hated doing multiplayer.
  24. Yeah, maybe I'll be able to watch ESPN on Xbox Live now, instead of waiting for free weekends. Saturdays in fall for college football with it is great.
  25. The boxart implies some sort of co-op gameplay. Maybe this will be what Halo 2 should have been campaign-wise.
