  1. Jordan & Gable are on the main roster tour of India next weekend, I'm fairly sure. Facing those two dudes from India they signed, both nights.
  2. Trainwreck was ROBBED. (seriously, Martian = comedy?)
  3. I think you might be reading into posts a little too much if you seriously think people (around here, anyway) believe NXT is a separate promotion from WWE. I've literally never seen one post, on here, on Reddit or elsewhere, where someone claims that NXT isn't a WWE property.
  4. NXT is a WWE property? Well, shit, you don't say.
  5. NXT references stuff outside of the "Universe" that WWE has created as their bubble. Stuff like Hideo Itami coming in as KENTA until it's changed on screen, same with Devitt into Balor. I'm assuming they reference the independent work of people like Ciampa, Gargano, Crews, Samoa Joe, etc (I haven't watched NXT in forever), even if they don't outright say Dragon Gate or PWG. It's generally more of a "breaking the 4th wall" type show that doesn't box the wrestlers into the WWE Universe and just treats them as a new talent, but instead acknowledges the fact that some of these wrestlers had their starts in smaller indy type promotions. I'm guessing that's the general gist of what he was trying to say. WWE hardly does any of that, while NXT seems to pride itself on it.
  6. C'mon, you know exactly what he means when he says he wonders if they'll work NXT and WWE.
  7. And what a shame I was somewhat specific in saying I had people attempt to translate them. I was just posting what she said herself about people trying to translate her Japanese tweets. Touchy much?
  8. Santana Garrett versus Asuka? Oh yes, please.
  9. Rusev and Lana's act was borderline xenophobic and their ceiling was "dominating the roster until the American Hero, John Cena, comes to destroy the evil foreign couple." Not much longevity in an act that pulls most of the heat from the fact that A) the fans just want Lana in their bedrooms and B) the Russia VS USA stuff that was/is still going on. Rusev and Lana never had a chance because WWE had them in that position on the card (for awhile) for the sole reason of what I mentioned above. to be fed to Cena. I mean, you saw what happened to them when the Russian political stuff started to fade into the background in reality. Rusev was Bulgarian, again, and suddenly Lana was a face and no one mentioned that she was an evil Russian the week before, doing the bidding of Putin. It was all dropped so quickly because no one gave a shit about Putin anymore. Nakamura could be different if they just let Nak be Nak and don't saddle him with stupid shit like they usually do. This is a Sink or Swim moment, especially if they want those WWE Network Japan numbers to be great.
  10. Not a chance they're paying AJ and Shinsuke loads of money (presumably because they have name value) only to bring them to the main roster and have to repackage them with a new name. And while I'm at it, why put either of those two on NXT when you can put them on RAW and Smackdown and maybe lure the smart fans back to the show, just to see those two. I know WWE's track record isn't the greatest, but I'm not going to go full cynical and say the main roster writers will completely fuck this up. I'm reserving judgement until it happens, which is what most people should do. I'm just happy that these guys get to show off their craft in the biggest promotion (in North America). Either they make bank and get even more over, or they get to go back to where they came from with a higher asking price and (presumably) more fans that might follow them and check out some indies or New Japan or whatever. tl;dr - Sick of the negativity about the signings and the main roster shit. Just be happy for the guys, fuck.
  11. this is the same guy who didn't watch the Styles/Nakamura match from WrestleKingdom purely because of the news, after the show was over, that they signed with WWE. irrational.
  12. This is probably the article/quote Stro is talking about. https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/2x6e60/dave_meltzer_but_the_biggest_story_on_fast_lane/
  13. I don't think it was live, I saw full show spoilers like 5 minutes before it started.
  14. Yeah, I think the new explanation is that WWE posted that article because "they are in negotiations and are just acknowledging the rumors".
  15. Wreddit baffles me sometimes. Currently in an argument about that WWE.com article (supposedly that means NOTHING! ) and how the EVOLVE deal must have been a one time thing because nothing has happened since (got brought up because WWE.com did an article on the EVOLVE stars). jeeeeesus. people actually still believe this isn't a real thing?
  16. Because who wants to wear just one Gauntlet, dude??? Like the Mad Titan would only wear JUST one, he needs the entire set. And the Space Stone is in Asgard, so... he'll still go there, regardless.
  17. Fuck, that's right, I remember that now. Kudos.
  18. I doubt WCW cared enough in 2001 to buy some little flippy jobber's intellectual property.
  19. Wasn't he using it before he was a contracted WCW talent? Or was NWA Wildside a feeder system for WCW? He teamed with Air Paris in WCW. I think their team name was Air Styles.
  20. I figure they're paying him enough money to supposedly warrant an immediate debut on the main roster instead of NXT, so it must be because of his name value. So, why do all of that just to change his name and have to go through the rebranding phase? Same with AJ Styles, but I don't see anyone arguing that they'll change his name.... Is everyone coming up with these ridiculous Japanese names secretly Big Fresh?
  21. I guess I'm the only one that sees WWE letting Shinsuke keep his name.
