  1. Runaways is fantastic, but I wouldn't be surprised if it gets cancelled either. With Feige over the TV side now too, I expect anything that currently exists on-air, as well as stuff in development, to be cancelled, so they can integrate the MCU into the television side fully. Luckily, I'm pretty sure Runaways is the only one that's left, since Agents of Shield is ending in 2020 anyway.
  2. ight imma head out EDIT: In other, less cringe worthy news, per ESPN:
  3. Sony is offering refunds for anyone who bought this through their online store.
  4. Hikaru Shida signed full time with AEW a long time ago. She's finishing up Japan dates this month and moving to the US in November. EDIT: Also, the Tessa Blanchard talk - the guy on Twitter that mentioned this also backtracked and mentioned the Impact "long term" deal, saying it was likely up in July 2020. So who the fuck knows what this dude is on about. Either way, I don't think Tessa would come to AEW, since she expressed to Chris Van Vliet how much she loves doing intergender stuff now in Impact. And Tony Khan isn't a fan of that. She's also a trainer for WOW, and she likes doing that apparently.
  5. I work every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 4pm to 5:30am. So... kinda graveyard?
  6. It was a lynx, but I'm just being picky now. But, yeah, Bubastis was genetically engineered, as well as the squid (in the movie it was just a machine). For someone who left Earth willingly, Dr. Manhattan is sure keeping up appearances on Earth in the 30+ years since the events of the graphic novel. He wouldn't need to be the person keeping the squid rain going, since Veidt was just "declared dead" within a month (or so) of when the show takes place in 2019. Veidt was alive for all of this time, from 1985 to 2019, while Manhattan was off-world for that entire time (that we know of, as of right now). The journals went live in 1986 according to the memo sent by Agent Dale Petey to the Anti-Vigilante Task Force, so either Veidt has been keeping the hoax going, or Manhattan has for some reason or another. I'm inclined to believe that if Veidt can teleport a huge squid to multiple points on Earth simultaneously, he can make it rain squids pretty easily. Veidt "disappeared" or went into hiding sometime around 2012, according to his obituary. Around this time, Veidt had perfected animal cloning and it was a common practice in society because of him. "Millennium by Veidt" was a marketing and philanthropic venture he set out on, making himself a guru in the "human potential movement", which was Veidt trying to move society towards a technological utopia "led by transcendent supermen". If anything, in my opinion, you're likely to see: Veidt is still alive, in hiding since 2012 in England, living with clones, trying to replicate what happened to Jon Osterman (either on himself, the clone servant(s), or some random person/clone). Yes, it's 9AM, I'm wide awake when I should be asleep, and I care way too much about Watchmen and this TV show. ?
  7. Nobody cuts butter anymore, do they? Spreadable butter is way better.
  8. I thought that was weird too, but you could easily kayfabe this (either within the next two weeks before Full Gear, or in your own head) - Jericho has a lot of perks in his contract, and one of them was his band providing the theme song for a future PPV event. He gets his standard wrestler pay, and on top of that a bonus for his music being used as the theme song. Personally, I still don't understand why the World Champion would need a ticket to attend the show. You could have gotten the same effect with showing a picture-in-picture of the Inner Circle walking through the corridor where the vendors are to get to the VIP box, and it wouldn't have interfered with the SCU/Dark Order match like it did. Unless I missed something, Jericho and his cronies weren't banned from the show or whatever prior to last night's broadcast, which is usually why wrestlers "buy a ticket" and sit in the crowd. This was just pretty random.
  9. Or Veidt is alive, and has moved beyond genetically engineered animals.
  10. I was very surprised that Bea Priestly wasn't in the Steely McBeam costume. Maybe she was in Japan or something - but if she wasn't, and she was available, it feels like a missed opportunity to further that feud. Bea gave her a concussion at Fight For The Fallen, and cost her the Casino Battle Royale. They've got two weeks of TV left until Full Gear, and if Britt & Bea are having a match there, they need to kick it into gear (no pun intended) because as of now, it's pretty stop and start, and that's annoying as shit.
  11. I'm on episode 6 of The Righteous Gemstones, but holy shit that Interlude episode was probably my favorite so far. This show isn't at all what I thought it would be going into it. Yeah, it's a comedy, but it's also kind of a drama, and the only person that I feel sorry for (as of right now) is Eli Gemstone. I was wondering who the actress for Aimee-Leigh was, because her singing was incredible, then I come to find out that it's Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland. Not a fan of that type of music, but I'll be damned if that performance of Misbehavin' wasn't super impressive. She also looks completely unrecognizable, so kudos to the wardrobe and make-up department on that one.
  12. I'm glad Kevin Nash let everyone know that these pro wrestling segments aren't real. What a relief.
  13. Fuck, heel Balor might actually make me watch NXT. And with what they're doing with the women... might have to watch AEW live and DVR this instead to watch after from now on. I'm choosing to believe that Balor and Cole are cool with each other because they're both former Bullet Club members. Has Cole being a former member ever been referenced on TV?
  14. Britt Baker is facing Jamie Hayter, by the way.
  15. Maybe there isn't ONE woman out there not locked down in a contract that could turn the division around, but it's about more than having a centerpiece that's really good. You could have the best female wrestler on the planet signed to AEW, but if they're surrounded with people like Leva Bates and others, it's still going to be trash more or less. Here's just a few off the top of my head that would be infinitely better than what ended up with: Allie Kat, Kimber Lee, Kris Stadlander, Leyla Hirsch, Aja Perera, Big Swole, Ashley Vox, Delmi Exo. Now, Allie Kat will probably never be in AEW unless her and MJF are on good terms again, but whatever, I'm being bias because I really like her. And, hell, only one of those wrestlers was in the women's Casino Battle Royale. Look at this list of people that appeared in that thing that could make their division better. I'm including Tenille since it's assumed she's done with Impact, but it's not for sure. I like the joshi as much as anyone, but you can't rely on talent that don't make AEW their #1 priority. If they were just running monthly shows, this would be acceptable. But a revolving door of joshi talent while we get the likes of Britt Baker, Nyla, Allie, Leva, etc. when the joshi aren't on TV just isn't going to cut it, especially when women's wrestling is really popular right now.
  16. I thought that was Priscilla Kelly for a minute.
  17. Have we finally discovered the reason why your forearms are so thicc?
  18. Jack Evans vs Darby Allin vs Jimmy Havoc in a three way match and Dustin Rhodes/Sonny Kiss vs QT Marshall & Peter Avalon will be on Dark next Tuesday.
  19. Jack Evans vs Joey Janela is cancelled. It's now Janela vs Kenny Omega in a re-match from last week's Dark episode (but just a regular match).
  20. HBO has a website with supplemental material that expands on the world of Watchmen, post-graphic novel. Also, @Bustronaut:
  21. Rusev & Bobby Lashley as a tag team would be pretty great, I won't lie.
