  1. Shane once had me read off a whole bunch of nicknames for him, and one of them was "One-Punch Shane."
  2. In that giant Bloodline family tree, The Rock is listed as the "High Chief."
  3. Losing Deshaun, Chubb, and a bunch of O-linemen would have relegated most Browns teams to a 6-11 season.
  4. I used to announce their matches against each other, but Punk didn't have as many tats back then. Graves (Sterling James Keenan) even got a victory!
  5. When I had a wrestling column in the local paper, I would get free tickets to WWF PPVs (SummerSlams 95 and 96 and King of the Ring 98), sit in the crowd and then write the column when I got home. I never got to interview the wrestlers or attend a press conference.
  6. My favorite gimmick match to announce is an Iron Man match because it has a scoreboard and clock like other sports, leading to lots of great psychology and strategy. I announced Punk vs. Daniels for IWC, but the audio got messed up. I was happy when I was asked to announce the whole thing again! Best one I ever called was Danielson vs. Doug Williams in the main event of Scramble Madness.
  7. That's a spoiler! Okay, here you go: When I was in the crowd, I was asking myself, "Is this a good match?" Nearly every move was a crazy dive involving a ladder or table, and only half of the moves landed properly. It was like eating a six-course meal, with every course being cake, and only three of the cakes were good.
  8. In my upcoming ECW history book, I talk about sitting in the crowd watching this match, wondering if it was good or bad.
  9. Mankind-Rock LMS also ended that way at In Your House 27: St. Valentine's Day Massacre in 1999.
  10. I think that was a TV taping. Yes, I'm trying to be nice and pay attention to TNA again. Can't hold a grudge forever.
  11. From King of Atlanta, Page 210 (WCW Sin PPV) 5. Canadian Penalty Box match: The Filthy Animals (Rey Misterio Jr., Billy Kidman & Konnan with Tygress) vs. Team Canada (Lance Storm, Elix Skipper & Mike Awesome with Major Gunns) I didn't remember Mike Awesome joining Team Canada. Was he really Canadian? (Checks Google) No? Maybe Awesome just needed a new gimmick every three months like a car needs gas.
  12. I read this as "full Esther," so I expected SAS to call Whitlock "an evil heathen."
  13. One thing Joe always has going for him is that he has long title reigns (ROH and ROH TV). In fact, nobody beat him for the TV title. So he's always a threat to have a long, juggernaut title reign.
  14. I would certainly like to announce this show. It would be a great way to celebrate my 30th anniversary in pro wrestling and make my Mania weekend debut.
  15. Not just that - neither team has even been to the Super Bowl.
  16. I was ring announcer for that show, so it would have been cool to meet you there. Of course, I was also in "take care of the 1-year-old" mode, as I was carrying her in a baby backpack in the locker room before the show.
  17. Maybe she's had 26 matches, but she lost almost all of her matches on Dark & Elevation.
  18. That's going to cost Flacco some money, because he signed a contract that gives him increasing bonuses for wins, all the way up to the Super Bowl.
  19. They said during the World's End pre-show that the Triple Crown titles can be defended individually.
  20. I was there at the Richfield Coliseum, just like for the first two Survivor Series. Very fun but strange show with all of the booking changes. That was the third Bret-Shawn match we had seen in the building that year. My friend had floor seats and made a homemade NWA belt for Flair and a "DON'T TRUST THE CLOWN" sign.
  21. He also won a couple of games for the Browns this year.
